Abstract

The system is particularly for marine engines, having two or more starting valves opened by a pressure-operated piston against spring action, the controlling compressed air from the receiver to the valves being regulated by a camshaft. Each starting valve can also be shut by the control compressed air, and from each opening control air pipe there is a shut-off air pipe supplying the starter valves from the preceding cylinder, in the firing order, to which opening air has been delivered. The shut-off pipe discharge at the opposite side of the piston to the opening pipe.
