Abstract

The crane has a rail-mounted base (1) with a cab and a tower comprising a section (4) telescoping in and out of a fixed one (3). At the top of the tower is mounted the slewing jib, which has two sections (5, 6) of equal length extending in opposite directions. The tower can have racks with which motor driven worms engage, also apertures in which ram-operated pins engage to lock it in the extended position at the height desired. The jib sections can be arranged to slew through 360 degrees, being supported by tie ropes (8, 9).
