Abstract

The high voltage terminal unit has circuit breaker (2), with a control unit (8), which is of reduced dimensions and filled with a dielectric gas. The external connection arrangement can be via air spaced stand-off insulators (3) to support exposed bus-bars or by cable entries (16) which can be plugged into resin filled passages that may have exposed fusible links (15). This combination overcomes such difficulties as size or lack of accessibility of terminal units that are either completely air insulated or completely gas filled. Fuses may be interposed between the interrupter and one of the bus bars in the synthetic resin.
