Abstract
1,129,296. Switchgear structures. CALOREMAG ELEKTRIZITATS A:G. 8 Nov., 1965 [7 Nov., 1964; 21 Nov., 1964], No. 47290/65. Heading H1N. In a withdrawable metal-clad switchgear the fixed isolating contact 22 is immersed in an insulating fluid such as oil or SF 6 in a chamber 13 provided with a shutter 21 which seals an opening 20 while the isolating contacts are separated and which opens as the isolating contact (56) (Fig. 6 not, shown) of the withdrawable circuit breaker is inserted into the opening, the circuit breaker co-operating with the walls of the opening 20 to prevent egress of the fluid while the isolating contacts are engaged. The circuit breaker (Fig. 6, not shown) comprises two series-connected oil blast interrupters (38, 39) located in oil filled tubes (36, 37) which contain gas-filled 'bladders (64, 65) allowing expansion; exhaust gasses escape through mufflers (63) (Fig. 7, not shown). The tubes 36, 37 are located in a metal casing (35) filled with SF 6 . Cast resin arms carry conductors (58, 59) to the isolating contacts (56, 57); the upper arm which houses a current transformer (62) is pivoted (at 60) to permit access to the circuit breaker. In a three-phase installation the three circuit breakers may be independently or collectively withdrawable. The oil insulated cables 8 and the bus-bars of the fixed part of the switchgear are housed in gas-filled earthed metal tubes 16, 9, 10, 11. Cable earthing switches 18 are provided.
