Abstract

A horizontal panel (1) is cast from concrete and receives sound (2) and thermal (3) insulation layers and pipes (4) which rest on the thermal insulation and thickened regions of the panel (1). Blocks of frozen liquid are placed on the insulation in the places (5) which are eventually vacant, and a further concrete layer (6) is cast of the assembly. A plaster facing layer (7) may then be formed on the upper concrete layer (6). The ambient temperature causes the frozen liquid, typically water, to melt and flow out through the pipes (4) for reuse. The panel can include refractory material (9) and the spaces may be used to pass hot or cold air.
