Abstract
In a circuit for the power feed of an electrode melting furnace, particularly for melting metal under a slag layer, from the mains via a static converter consisting of a control device and a prior connected current regulator which can be influenced by a pre-set value and an instantaneous value of a current, the proportional-integral (PI) current-regulator can be additionally influenced by a control magnitude, which can replace the current regulation during periodic or aperiodic operating states or states due to defect affecting the melting process in the furnace, by a control potential controlling the control device for the static converter, which can be limited to an adjustable value.
