Abstract

Appts for electrical discharge treatment of a gas flow comprises a gas discharge slot reactor including electrodes separated by dielectric and a gas space, the electrodes being connected through a switching circuit to a rectified AC supply from a transformer, the switching circuit being controlled to alternately switch one of the electrodes so as to recharge the dielectric and gas space capacitances, and excite an electrical discharge in the gas space. For use e.g. as an ozone generator. Has reduced size, optimum shape of electrical discharge, does not require an additional DC source, has reduced power losses.
