Abstract
577,201. Supply systems for radio apparatus ; converting. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and STENNING. L. C. June 19, 1942, No. 8428. [Classes 38 (ii) and 38 (iv)] In a supply system for radio apparatus wherein a stabilized H.T. supply 7, 7 is obtained from the electrodes of a discharge tube 4 fed with D.C., a stabilized L.T. supply 12, 12 is derived from the supply 7, 7 through an interrupter 8 and step-down transformer 9. As shown, the discharge tube is energised from A.C. mains 1 through transformer 2, rectifier 3, smoothing circuit 6 and feed resistor 5. A second interrupter 10 may rectify the L.T. output of transformer 9. Interrupters 8, 10 may be operated from the stabilized H.T. supply or by a synchronous motor driven from the A.C. mains.
