Abstract

The process is for use with mains carrying gas, water etc. and uses a cutting and vibrating implement reciprocating inside the pipe. A rotary spiral scraper can be used, driven by a reciprocating pneumatic actuator, and the dust can be removed by suction. The implement may be carried by a pneumatic motor mounted on rollers and introduced into the pipe, an electrically driven suction device removing dust. The scraper has a series of flexible arms which allow the system to be used for pipes in the range 100-600 mm.
