Abstract

The drillings in the side bars and the dimensions of the bushes are machined to close tolerances to give an exact fit, the bushes being secured in place by ring clips, and the surfaces between side bars and bushes being coated with a molykote(RTM) or PTFE non-stick material. The purpose is to provide an equal load-bearing surface to give a good pivoting action without irregularities which would induce undue wear.
