Abstract
1,111,597. Bearings. GEORGE ANGUS & CO. Ltd. 20 July, 1965 [23 July, 1964], No. 30823/65. Heading F2A. A bearing member comprises a bearing layer 1, 2 of fluorinated polymer with seams 4, 5 projecting into a layer of resilient material 8. In Fig. 3 the member is a bush which is made by stapling two strips 1, 2 of the polymer along parallel edges, expanding the strips on a mandrel to form a sleeve with projecting seams 4, 5 and then spraying or casting a layer of resilient material 8, e.g. polyurethane, around the sleeve to embed the seams. The flanges may be notched. Alternatively bearing layer seams project internally into an internal resilient layer.
