Abstract

Each yarn passes over a wheel fitted with permanent magnets before the textile machine, partic. a circular knitter. As the wheels are driven by the yarns, the rotation of the permanent magnets generates a series of impulses fed to an indicator to give a visual reading for the speed of yarn travel and length of yarn supplied in a given time span.
