1388080 Spinning machine R M OLIVER 2 May 1973 20801/73 Heading DID A spinning apparatus comprises a base 24 and an upright 12 secured thereto, a drive wheel 14 rotatably mounted on the base, a foot-operated drive 16 to rotate the wheel 14, a spinning quill 20 mounted in a bearing on the upright and drivingly engaged with the drive wheel 14 by a wheel 96. The quill 20 may be mounted in a carrier which is resiliently biased towards the drive wheel 14.
