CONSISTE EN LA FERMENTACION DE UN ORGANISMO DEL GENERO ~AXANTHOMONAS~B EN UN CALDO DE CULTIVO CONSTITUIDO POR UNA FUENTE DE CARBONO ASIMILABLE, UN MATERIAL COMPLEJO COMO FUENTE DE NITROGENO, QUE PUEDE SER UN EXTRACTO DE LEVADURA O UN PRODUCTO LEGUMINOSO, Y FUENTES DE AZUFRE, POTASIO, FOSFORO, MAGNESIO, CALCIO Y, OPCIONALMENTE, HIERRO; DE MODO QUE EL MEDIO ESTA EXENTO DE COBALTO, COBRE, MAGNESIO, CINC Y BORO. ESTE MATERIAL TIENE APLICACIONES PARA EL DESPLAZAMIENTO DEL PETROLEO DE LOS CAMPOS DE PETROLEO PARCIALMENTE AGOTADOS.
