Abstract

In a phase monitoring circuit, which for a phase-locked-loop regulating system uses only one digital phase detector, to which a reference signal and a comparison signal are fed, and in which an output signal corresponding to the phase difference is output to control a voltage-controlled oscillator, there is the danger that, after a failure or an interruption of the reference signal, the phase detector, in certain cases, does not set the phase difference after restart to zero, but to 2 pi . To avoid this, a correction circuit (KS) is connected in series before the phase detector and delays connecting the signals through to the phase detector after the reference signal restarts in such a way that the falling edge of the reference signal is fed to the phase detector simultaneously with or delayed after the falling edge of the comparison signal. The correction circuit (KS) includes a retriggerable monostable flip flop circuit (MF) to monitor the reference signal (R), a gate circuit (G3) with inputs for the output signal (Q) of the monostable flipflop circuit (MF) and the comparison signal (V), a multivibrator consisting of two gates (G4, G5), an inverter (G6) and two through-connecting gates (G1, G2). One input of one of the through-connecting gates (G1) is connected to a capacitor (C1).
