CONSISTE EN LA REACCION DE UN ACIDO DE FORMULA HAL-CH2-(CH2)9-COCH, EN LA QUE HAL ES HALOGENO CON UNA BASE, SEGUIDA DE LA REACCION CON UN ALCOHOL C1-4, EN PRESENCIA DE UN ACIDO COMO CATALIZADOR; OXIDACION DEL ESTER FORMADO AL ESTER DE FORMULA OCH-(CH2)9-COOR1, EN LA QUE R1 ES UN ALQUILO C1-4; CONVERSION DE ESTE EN EL COMPUESTO CH2=CH-(CH2)9COOR1 Y REDUCCION DEL ESTER SIGUIENDO METODOS CONVENCIONALES, CON LO QUE SE OBTIENE EL COMPUESTO EN EL QUE R ES HIDROXILO.
