PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA PREPARACION DE UN ALCOHOL INFERIOR DE FORMA CONTINUA, ESPECIALMENTE PARA PREPARAR ISOPROPANOL Y ALCOHOL BUTILICO. SE REALIZA MEDIANTE HIDRATACION CATALITICA DE OLEFINAS CON 3-5 ATOMOS DE CARBONO, ESPECIALMENTE DE PROPENO Y N-BUTENO, EN PRESENCIA DE UN INTERCAMBIADOR DE CATIONES FUERTEMENTE ACIDO COMO CATALIZADOR, QUE ESTA DISPUESTO COMO LECHO FIJO EN UN REACTOR MONOTUBULAR, SIENDO RECORRIDO DE ABAJO HACIA ARRIBA POR LOS COMPONENTES DE LA REACCION A UNA TEMPERATURA COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 120 Y 180 C BAJO UNA PRESION DE 40 A 200 BARES, SIENDO LA PROPORCION MOLAR DE LOS COMPONENTES APORTADOS DE AGUA A OLEFINA DE 1 HASTA 3 : 1. LA OLEFINA, ANTES DE SU ALIMENTACION EN EL REACTOR, ES PRESATURADA CON 0,3 A 1,8 POR 100 EN PESO DE AGUA, REFERIDO A LA OLEFINA.
