Abstract
Método para quemar combustibles que contiene nitrógeno, suprimiendo al mismo tiempo la formación de óxidos de nitrógeno a partir de dicho nitrógeno contenido en el combustible, que comprende: formar una primera mezcla de dicho combustible y una cantidad de aire sustancialmente menor que la cantidad necesitada para la combustión completa de todos los componentes combustibles de dicho combustible; quemar dicho primera mezcla en una primera zona de combustión en presencia de un catalizador, que tiene una temperatura de trabajo por debajo de la temperatura que daría como resultado la formación sustancias de óxidos de nitrógeno u otros compuestos de nitrógeno fijado a partir del nitrógeno atmosférico presente en dicha mezcla, para formar un primer efluente; mezclar dicho primer efluente con una cantidad adicional de aire al menos suficiente para una combustión completa e todos los componentes combustibles que permanecen en dicho primer efluente para formar una segunda mezcla; y quemar dicha segunda mezcla en una segunda zona de combustión por debajo de una temperatura que daría como resultado una formación sustancial de óxidos de nitrógeno a partir del nitrógeno atmosféricos.
