Abstract

Procedure for the deoxidation by pickling of aluminum objects before a subsequent electroplating, characterized in that it comprises the operations of degreasing the object to be stripped in trichlorethylene or another suitable solvent or in a concentrated aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide, treating the object in a pickling bath containing from 20 to 35% by volume of 35% hydrochloric acid, from 5 to 13% by volume of 85% orthophosphorous acid and from 52 to 75% by volume of water, keeping the bath at a temperature between 50 and 70ºC, and wash the object in running hot water.
