Abstract

Electric control device, characterized by comprising: (a) a handle movable between the "reset", "connected" and "trip" positions to close and open a circuit through the device, (b) a releasable trigger member, movable to a locked position during movement of the handle to its "reset" position, and effective, after release from its locked position, to cause said handle to occupy the "trigger" position " (c) trip release means, responsive to current, controlling the release of said releasable trip member and including shunt contacts, movable to a closed position, after the occurrence of a predetermined overload current condition within said circuit, and (d) bypass opening means with said handle for movement, when said handle moves between the "trip" and "reset" positions and operable on said release means to positively open the bypass contacts, when said contacts are soldered in the closed position, due to said overload current condition.
