Abstract

Un proceso para la preparación de travoprost de fórmula (I). **(Ver fórmula)** que comprende que el compuesto de fórmula (II) **(Ver fórmula)** se reduzca estereoselectivamente, el compuesto resultante de fórmula (III) **(Ver fórmula)** si se desea, se cristalice, el grupo lactona del compuesto de fórmula (III) se reduzca, el grupo protector p-fenilbenzoílo del compuesto así obtenido de fórmula (IV) **(Ver fórmula)** se elimine, el triol resultante de fórmula (V) **(Ver fórmula)** se transforme, si se desea después de la cristalización mediante reacción de Wittig en el ácido de fórmula (VI), **(Ver fórmula)** que después se esterifica.
