Abstract

Procedimiento para la preparación de un metal alcalino-térreo por electrolisis de baños de cloruros fundidos, caracterizado porque un baño de sales fundidas conteniendo, además del cloruro del metal alcalino-térreo a preparar, por lo menos dos sales elegidas entre cloruro potásico, cloruro sódico, cloruro de litio, cloruro de rubidio, cloruro de cesio, fluoruro cálcico, fluoruro de estroncio, fluoruro bárico, se somete a la electrolisis a una temperatura comprendida entre 600 y 700º C. y con una tensión de 5-7 voltios, obteniéndose así el metal alcalino-térreo directamente en estado sólido y compacto, sobre un cátodo de metal no aleable con el metal alcalino-térreo, de preferencia giratorio.
