Abstract

Procedimiento para la electrólisis de una disolución acuosa de cloruro de hidrógeno o cloruro de metal alcalino en una celda de electrólisis que comprende un semielemento anódico con un ánodo, un semielemento catódico con un electrodo de difusión de gas (2) como cátodo y una membrana de intercambio catiónico para la separación electrolítica del semielemento anódico y el semielemento catódico, en donde al semielemento catódico se aporta gas con contenido en oxígeno y se evacúa gas con contenido en oxígeno en exceso desde el semielemento catódico, caracterizado por que el gas con contenido en oxígeno en exceso, retirado del semielemento catódico, es aportado, al menos en parte, a un dispositivo (7) para la separación de gases, en el que el gas con contenido en oxígeno en exceso es separado en una fracción rica en oxígeno y en una fracción pobre en oxígeno, y la fracción rica en oxígeno se aporta a continuación al semielemento catódico.
