Abstract

Un método para determinar la ubicación de un artículo, el método que comprende los pasos de: designar primera, segunda y tercera zonas de detección (314, 324) respectivamente asociadas con primer, segundo y tercer detectores (110; 120) en donde la primera zona de detección (314) se solapa con un área de la segunda zona de detección (324), la segunda zona de detección se solapa con un área de la primera y tercera zonas de detección, y la tercera zona de detección se solapa con un área de la segunda zona de detección; designar la pluralidad de las áreas de solapamiento como una pluralidad de zonas de lectura virtuales (344); detectar la presencia de un artículo en una de las zonas de lectura virtuales (344) cuando el artículo es detectado por al menos dos de entre el primer, segundo y tercer detectores (110; 120) caracterizado porque el método comprende el paso adicional de resolver la ubicación del artículo dentro de la primera zona de detección, la segunda zona de detección (314; 324) o la tercera zona de detección mediante la asignación de un primer porcentaje del artículo a la primera zona de detección, un segundo porcentaje del artículo a la segunda zona de detección, y un tercer porcentaje del artículo a la tercera zona de detección; en el que el primer porcentaje es 100% cuando el artículo es detectado por el primer y segundos detectores; el primer y tercer porcentaje es 0% y el segundo porcentaje es 100% cuando el artículo es detectado por el primer, segundo y tercer detectores; y el primer y segundo porcentaje es 0% y el tercer porcentaje es 100% cuando el artículo es detectado por el segundo y tercer detector.
