Abstract

Sol de sílice estable que tiene una concentración de SiO2 de 0,5 a 30% en peso comprendiendo un medio líquido y una serie de partículas coloidales de óxido silícico amorfo, poseyendo cada una de dichas partículas coloidales forma alargada, dicha forma se caracteriza por un tamaño (D1) de las partículas de 40 a 500 nm medido por el método de dispersión dinámica de la luz y alargamiento solamente en un plano y un grosor uniforme comprendido entre 5 y 40 nm según la longitud, observado por el microscopio electrónico, con un grado de alargamiento de 5 a 30 en términos de la proporción de dimensiones D1/D2 en el que D2 representa un diámetro calculado por la ecuación D2 = 2720/S y en la que S representa un área de supercie especíca en m 2 /g de dichas partículas coloidales de sílice amorfo.
