Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for laying pipelines underground, in which a substantially horizontal borehole is drilled into the ground using a drilling device.
- Pipelines can be laid underground by digging trenches, laying the pipelines in the trenches, and backfilling the trenches with soil after the pipelines are completed. Due to the earthworks, this is complex and therefore time-consuming and costly. In particular, the digging of trenches presents problems when, for example, pipelines are to be laid beneath obstacles such as roadways, trenches or the like.
- Horizontal drilling methods such as the horizontal flush drilling method
- trenchless laying methods with which a pipeline can be laid without a trench having to be dug.
- a borehole is first drilled diagonally into the ground using a horizontal drilling device until the desired depth is reached in order to safely guide the pipeline underneath an obstacle.
- the bore can be continued essentially horizontally until the bore rises again to reach the target point, ie the exit point.
- This method can also be used to drill holes in the near and offshore area, with the entry point being on the land side and the exit point being on the seabed, for example.
- the entry point can also be on the water or sea side and the exit point can be on land.
- the pipeline is connected to the drill rod, for example, so that when the drill rod is returned to the starting point, the pipeline is pulled into the finished borehole.
- the invention is based on the object of proposing a method for laying pipelines underground, in which the installation effort and space requirements can be reduced on the outlet side.
- a drill rod of a drilling device In a method for laying pipelines underground, in which a substantially horizontal borehole is drilled into the ground by means of at least one drill rod of a drilling device, it is essential to the invention that the drill rod is removed from the borehole after the borehole has been completed and that the pipeline to be laid is introduced into the borehole starting from the introduction side of the borehole.
- a borehole is made in the ground using a drilling device.
- the borehole can first be introduced at an angle into the ground and can then be guided essentially horizontally below the obstacle.
- a drill rod with a drill head will be provided for this purpose.
- Various drilling methods can be used to create the borehole.
- Drillings can also be provided in which the entry point of the drilling is on the land side and the exit point of the drilling is, for example, below the water level, for example in the seabed.
- Blind holes can also be provided in which a hole is not drilled all the way to the target point, but rather the hole ends in front of the target point at a defined distance from it.
- the drill rods of the drilling device are removed from the borehole so that the borehole is now free.
- the pipeline to be laid is pushed into the borehole in the direction of the target point, starting from the starting point, ie from the side from which the borehole was drilled into the ground.
- the pipeline is advanced to the target point or, in the case of a blind hole, the pipeline ends with the completion of the borehole.
- the tubing can be run into the well in one continuous string or in segments.
- the water-side installation effort is greatly reduced as a result, particularly in the case of water-side targets.
- the production of the borehole or the course of the borehole can be controlled, for example by the drill rod being designed to be controllable.
- the location of the borehole is known without additional surveying methods.
- the inserted pipeline can be flooded and pigs can be pumped in the pipeline. Pull ropes can also be installed after the pipeline has been laid.
- the pipeline to be laid is introduced into the borehole in segments in the form of pipe sections and the pipe sections are connected to adjacent pipe sections.
- the pipeline to be introduced into the borehole can be introduced into the borehole that has already been produced in segments, ie in the form of pipe sections.
- pipe sections can be kept ready at the start, which are then introduced into the borehole one after the other.
- the pipe sections are connected to one another, for example in a fluid-tight, pressure-tight, shear-resistant, tensile-resistant, non-rotatable manner.
- sleeve connections, welded connections, soldered connections, threaded connections, plug-in connections or combinations of these or other connections can be used.
- a section of pipe that is introduced into the borehole in sections is connected to a following pipe section at its end protruding from the borehole.
- one pipe section can be inserted into the borehole so that its rear end protrudes from the borehole.
- a subsequent pipe section is connected to this rear end of the protruding pipe section as required.
- the pipeline is pushed further into the borehole, see above that now the pipe section connected to the preceding pipe section protrudes from the borehole. The process can be continued until the pipeline is complete.
- the connections between the pipe sections are made outside the well.
- the pipe sections can be connected in such a way that a pipe section is connected to a preceding pipe section, in particular a pipe section protruding from the borehole, outside the ground.
- the connection outside the borehole makes it easy to handle the connection, since, for example, welded connections between the pipe sections can simply be carried out above the ground.
- the pipe sections can be connected at a fixed position if the pipe sections each have the same length as one another.
- the front pipe section to be inserted into the borehole is a pipe section with a closed front end in the direction of insertion.
- the pipe segment ie the pipe section which is inserted into the borehole first, ie the pipe section which forms the beginning of the pipeline, has a closed end.
- the formation of a closed front end of the first pipe section simplifies the introduction of the pipeline into the borehole. In particular, this prevents material, such as soil, from getting into the pipeline from the walls of the borehole.
- the front end can, for example, be hemispherical, tapered or similar. In particular, depending on the embodiment, the front pipe end can serve to guide the pipe string in the existing borehole.
- the pipeline is introduced into the borehole by means of a drilling device for making horizontal boreholes.
- a drilling device in particular the horizontal drilling rig with which the borehole was created, can be used to insert the pipeline segments.
- the drilling device can be used to push the pipeline or the individual pipe sections into the borehole, analogously to the insertion of the drill pipe. This results in a reduction in the amount of work, since no device specially provided for inserting the pipe segments has to be set up and the drilling device does not have to be dismantled.
- the drilling device is the same drilling device that was used to drill the borehole into the ground.
- the use of one and the same horizontal drilling device for making the borehole and for inserting the pipe segments enables considerable cost savings and time-efficient work.
- the horizontal drilling rig can be equipped or converted with an adapter for inserting the pipeline.
- the diameter of the borehole produced by means of the drill rod is larger than the diameter of the pipeline to be laid, in particular the diameter of the borehole is 20% to 50% larger than the diameter of the pipeline to be laid.
- a borehole can be produced, for example in the case of a pilot borehole, the diameter of which is larger than the diameter of the pipeline to be introduced.
- the diameter of the borehole can be 20% to 50% larger than the diameter of the pipeline to be laid. This enables the pipeline to be easily introduced into the prefabricated borehole.
- the Borehole diameter considerably larger than the diameter of the drill pipe used. The large diameter of the borehole can be achieved using a flush drilling method.
- a propping fluid is introduced into the wellbore and the wellbore is propped up by the propping fluid.
- a support fluid can be introduced into the borehole in order to achieve stabilization of the inner wall of the borehole.
- a support liquid is a bentonite-based clay powder-water suspension. If required, the support liquid can be adapted and/or extended to the respective operating conditions by means of additives or alternative products.
- the support fluid can be pumped through the drill string into the drill assembly and can exit from there through nozzles into the borehole. Alternative drilling fluids can also be used.
- a further aspect of the invention relates to the use of a horizontal drilling device for laying a pipeline underground from an entry point in the direction of the exit point.
- a horizontal drilling rig with which a borehole, in particular a substantially horizontally aligned borehole, was created is used to insert the pipeline into the borehole made by means of the horizontal drilling rig.
- the horizontal drilling rig can be equipped with an adapter for pipe insertion.
- the pipeline can be pushed into the prefabricated borehole in one strand or in segments, starting from the entry side in the direction of the target point.

Abstract
