Definitions
- the invention relates to a breech for a firearm, the breech comprising at least one breech head with a control bolt and a slider with a mounting groove and control link, and the breech head and the slider are connected to one another so that they can be slid into one another and are detachable, in accordance with the preamble of claim 1 and the US 9,995,542 B1 .
- the US 9,995,542 B1 discloses a breech for a firearm with a barrel bore axis and a locking sleeve, comprising a breech head with a control bolt and a control bolt axis, and a slider which has at least one end face, a mounting groove and a substantially S-shaped control link with a locked position and a Has take-away position.
- Swivel bolt firearms have long been known.
- the types M4/M16/AR15 and their derivatives are mentioned.
- the breech comprises a slide that is movably arranged in the housing, also known as the breech carrier, and a breech head that can be rotated and displaced in the slide along the axis of the barrel bore and about it.
- the bolt head is usually rotated by the interaction of a control bolt (or control cam, sometimes also referred to as a sliding block) which is arranged on the bolt head, with a control link which is arranged in the sliding piece.
- the control link also called control curve
- the helical section causes the rotary movement of the bolt head through interaction with the control pin when the bolt head moves relative to the sliding piece.
- control pin as a separate component. It is inserted in a transverse bore in the bolt head and held in position there, for example by the firing pin in the firing pin bore. During assembly, the bolt head is pushed into the slide, then the control bolt is inserted into the bolt head through the closed control link located within the slide. The control pin is often secured against falling out by the firing pin. Since the control pin requires a corresponding material thickness to absorb the forces during the locking process, only small wall thicknesses of the locking head remain in the area of the Cross hole for the control pin. This results in a relative weakening of the breech head, and in known breech heads of this type breaks occur again and again at this point.
- the control bolt can be integrally attached to the bolt head.
- a locking head with an integral control pin can be used in a divided sliding piece, so that the control pin is brought into the closed control slot during assembly. It is then necessary to secure the bolt head in the slider with clasps, slides or similar elements. Due to the necessary complex geometries, the production of such divided sliding pieces requires a very high production cost. In addition, the assembly of such a locking head in the sliding piece is at the expense of user-friendliness due to the large number of components.
- EP 0423678 A2 describes a closure with a control link that is open at the front and spirally extending backwards in the circumferential direction. Assembly and disassembly are only possible with tools.
- the closure is constructed as simply as possible, that is to say with preferably as few components as possible, and is designed so that it can be dismantled without tools. Furthermore, it is an object to create a fail-safe coupling of the locking head with the sliding piece in the installed state.
- S-shaped control links are known from the prior art.
- the control pin When the breech is unlocked, the control pin is in a forwardly closed unlocking section of the control link, in the driving position.
- the control pin When the breech is fully locked, the control pin is in the locked position in the rear so-called locking section of the control link.
- the locking section and the unlocking section are connected to one another by a helical, or spiral, middle section.
- the essentially U-shaped assembly groove begins on the end face of the slider in the running direction to the rear and ends at the rear end of the control link and is adjacent to it.
- a mounting groove merging into the control link has the advantage that the bolt head together with the control pin can be inserted into the sliding piece along the mounting groove. So it is easy possible to move the control bolt into the control link so that the bolt head is in an operational state.
- the bolt head and control bolt can be assembled before they are inserted into the slider. With the aid of a mounting groove and control link designed in this way, it is also possible for the control bolt to be designed integrally on the bolt head.
- a high material strength of the sliding piece remains, for example on the front side for the preferably symmetrical interaction with a gas linkage, or also in the lateral and vertical direction, which promotes the stability of the sliding piece.
- the number of components can be reduced. At the same time, tool-free disassembly and assembly of the bolt head is facilitated.
- the assembly groove has a first section, which extends rearwards starting at the end face, and a second section adjoining the first section, which extends in the circumferential direction, and a third section adjoining the second section , which extends forward.
- the U-shaped assembly groove with a first rearwardly extending section allows easy and simple insertion of a bolt head with a control bolt, the control bolt being guided in the first section of the assembly groove.
- the bolt head is rotated in the direction of the third section, with the control bolt being guided in the second section.
- the third section is reached, the bolt head is moved forward again in the direction of travel, and the control bolt is guided in the third section.
- the first, second and/or third section can be designed in a straight line or also in a helical or spiral shape. It has proven particularly advantageous to design the second and/or third section in a spiral shape. It is relatively easy for the user to see, even without a direct line of sight, in which section the control pin is located. Due to the design of the assembly groove according to the invention, securing the locking head in the slider, for example by means of additional components, can be omitted.
- the third section of the mounting groove can extend backwards, viewed in the running direction and adjacent to the locked position of the control link. It has proven to be advantageous that the third section extends backwards by 0.1 to 3 times the diameter of the control pin, preferably 0.5 to 1.5 times the diameter of the control pin.
- This measure has the advantage that the bolt head has to be at least partially moved backwards out of the locked position of the control link in order to bring the control pin into the mounting groove and subsequently to be able to remove the bolt head from the sliding piece.
- the second section is also advantageous to design the second section as a circular arc segment viewed in the direction of travel, which is oriented normal to the bore axis when viewed from above, since the relatively simple manufacture and good visibility of the position of the control pin upon insertion is also given.
- the third section it can be particularly advantageous to design the third section to be oriented parallel to the bore axis.
- a mounting groove designed in this way can essentially be regarded as U-shaped and is particularly easy to manufacture, e.g. by means of drilling and/or milling.
- the previously mentioned possibilities of designing individual or all of the three sections in a spiral shape can lead to the need to use additive manufacturing processes.
- the straight back mounting groove allows for maximum use of space in the slide while maintaining the integrity of the slide.
- the control bolt can have a correspondingly large length, which is advantageous when interacting with the control link.
- the three sections are each formed approximately at right angles to one another, whereby the description of the following situation can also be read analogously to any spiral sections:
- the bolt head is guided straight back with the control pin in the first section until the control pin hits the end of the first section .
- This position which is easy to determine, is followed by turning the bolt head with the control bolt in the second section of the control link until it stops at the end of the second section. Now the bolt head is brought forward into the third section and then into the control gate.
- the mounting groove and the control link have the same width in the locked position.
- the transition from the mounting groove to the control link is therefore stepless and allows the control pin to be inserted particularly easily from the mounting groove into the control link.
- This design is also particularly advantageous in terms of production, since the mounting groove and the control link can be machined, e.g. milled, in one go at the locking position. This reduces work steps and costs in production.
- Another special configuration can be designed in such a way that the control bolt axis of the control bolt is arranged in the mounting position in the first section of the mounting groove at an angle ⁇ to the weapon center plane, wherein the angle ⁇ can be 20° to 65°, preferably 35° to 45° and the control pin axis of the control pin in the driving position at the front, closed end of the control link at an angle ⁇ to which the control pin axis of the control pin is in the assembly position, wherein the angle ⁇ can be 50° to 120°, preferably 80° to 100°.
- This arrangement of the mounting position and the driving position allows a sliding piece with a very high level of integrity, in particular on the front face there is sufficient space for interaction with a push rod, which is also centered around can be arranged the closure head.
- a purely "internal" mounting groove can thus be formed on the sliding piece, which has a positive effect on the mechanical strength of the sliding piece.
- the internal mounting groove allows a defined necessary rotary movement to guide the bolt head into the control link.
- the slider has at least one guide groove on the side, which is designed to guide the slider along a guide rail in a housing, preferably an upper part of the housing, the guide groove intersecting the control link and exposing it upwards.
- This arrangement of the guide groove in the slider is particularly advantageous since the slider can be guided precisely along the guide rail in the housing. Furthermore, this configuration allows a control window formed in the guide rail to only release the rotary movement of the bolt head, in addition to guiding it in the control link, when the control bolt can reach "through” the guide rail when the bolt head is rotated through the control window.
- the control window is arranged in such a way that this rotary movement for locking the breech can only take place when the breech is in the locking sleeve of the firearm. If the bolt is in a different, unlocked state with the slider, the interaction of the guide rail and control pin prevents the bolt head from rotating.
- control bolt is designed as a bevel at its outer end—viewed in the radial direction of the barrel axis—which is parallel to the guide rail in the driving position and is arranged flush with the guide groove.
- control bolt is attached integrally to the bolt head and preferably has a concave recess in the transition area between the bolt head and the control bolt.
- An integral control bolt has a positive effect with regard to the mechanical resilience of the bolt head and the number of components required for a firearm can be reduced.
- a preferably circumferential clearance can be provided in the transition area of the control bolt to the bolt head body. This clearance can be concave, preferably lens-shaped. Such a transition area from the bolt head to the control pin can reduce the notch effect in the transition area and the risk of the control pin breaking is avoided.
- a firing pin is arranged in a firing pin bore in the bolt head in such a way that a firing pin spring arranged around the firing pin is supported on the bolt head and pretensions the firing pin.
- the firing pin is supported by the spring preload on the slider in such a way that the control bolt on the bolt head can only be brought out of the control link and into the assembly groove against the spring force of the firing pin spring.
- the invention is suitable for firearms in general, and therefore also for pistols, but is explained below using a carbine.
- Other components of the firearm such as the barrel, cartridge chamber, locking sleeve with locking ring, firing pin and firing pin spring, magazine or shaft are not explained in detail here, since they do not relate to the core of the invention and the person skilled in Knowledge of the invention can also easily make modifications and adjustments here, if at all necessary or desired, based on his specialist knowledge.
- the terms left, right, above, below, in front and behind always refer to the direction in which the firearm is fired from the point of view of the shooter when it is held ready to fire.
- the weapon has, going through the barrel axis and oriented vertically, a weapon center plane which is subsequently designated 90 and, cum grano salis, forms a plane of symmetry.
- the running direction is forwards with arrow 91, the normal direction upwards with arrow 93 and the transverse direction to the left with arrow 92.
- the breech of a firearm comprises slide and bolt head and firing pin and requires a locking crown of a locking sleeve, usually connected to the barrel.
- a locking crown of a locking sleeve usually connected to the barrel.
- the combination of slide and bolt head possibly with firing pin and firing pin spring is also referred to as a bolt.
- the parts of the breech such as the breech head and slider are functionally connected to one another and form a unit, but the breech is not necessarily built into the firearm. If the breech is built into the firearm and functionally connected to it, this is subsequently referred to as the built-in state or with the breech built in.
- the firearm is then typically in the operational state.
- the breech is locked (in the locked state or with the breech locked)
- the breech head interacts with the locking collar and closes the cartridge chamber in the barrel backwards, whereby the weapon is ready to fire.
- the bolt is unlocked (in the unlocked state)
- the bolt head no longer interacts with the locking ring and is in an (end) position.
- In 1 1 is a schematic representation of a firearm and has a barrel 1 with barrel bore axis 11 and muzzle 14, a housing 2 with upper housing part 21 and lower housing part 22, a front stock 81, a trigger 82, a magazine 83, a grip 84 and a stock 85.
- the 2 shows an exploded view of a slider 4 according to the invention with a locking head 3, in further sequence and for the sake of simplicity and better legibility also known as a lock.
- the elongate bolt head 3 has a firing pin bore 35 running in the axial direction and locking lugs 31 formed radially outwards at the front end.
- the preferably integrally formed control bolt 33 projects radially outwards, the transition region of the bolt head 3 to the control bolt 33 is formed as a concave recess 331, preferably lens-shaped.
- the sliding piece 4 comprises a longitudinal bore, referred to as the bolt head receptacle 42 , which serves to accommodate the bolt head 3 .
- At least one end face 49 is formed at the front end, which can interact with a push rod of a gas extraction system in order to bring the breech backwards after the shot has been fired during the automatic reloading process.
- the slider 4 also includes, at least on one side, a lateral guide groove 45 which interacts with a guide rail 25 of a housing 2 and guides the closure in the housing 2 in the axial direction (cf. Figures 5a and b ).
- a rearwardly extending assembly groove 46 is formed along the bolt head receptacle 42 , which receives the control pin 33 when the bolt head 3 is inserted into the bolt head receptacle 42 and guides the bolt head 3 .
- the mounting groove 46 merges into a control link 43, details of which are a further consequence and in particular in FIGS Fig.6 and 7 explained.
- Fig.3 a the slider 4 is shown in plan view from the front.
- the end face 49 and the guide groove 45 (preferably formed on both sides) are clearly visible.
- the locking head receptacle 42 and the assembly groove 46 are located on the inside.
- a longitudinal section of the slider 4 along the section plane III is shown in Figure 3b shown.
- the mounting groove 46, which merges into the control link 43, is clearly visible (see also Figure 4b ).
- the sliding piece 4 has a high structural integrity and stability, the bolt head 3 lying in the sliding piece 4 is partially enclosed in the longitudinal direction at its central part and completely in the circumferential direction in the installed situation, and the forces coming from the push rod can be transmitted over a large area on the end face 49 .
- the Figure 4a shows the position of the bolt head 3 in the slide 4 when the bolt is locked.
- the locking head 3 is located in the slider 4 in such a way that the control bolt 33 is located in the control link 43 or partially protrudes through it.
- the locking sleeve 15 with the locking collar 16 of a running group is indicated by dashed lines.
- FIG.4b referenced, in which the U-shaped mounting groove 46 and the S-shaped control link 43 are shown schematically.
- This representation is a planar representation of the projecting (development) through the control pin 33 in the respective position along the assembly groove 46 or control guide 43.
- the U-shaped assembly groove 46 viewed in the running direction 91 merges into the control link 43 from behind.
- the mounting groove 46 has an end that is open toward the front and extends from this open end in a first section, preferably at least partially parallel to the bore axis 11, toward the rear. Adjacent to the first section follows a second section which is twisted in the circumferential direction, preferably essentially normal to the first section. Adjacent to this is a third section which extends forward, preferably at least partially parallel to the bore axis 11 .
- the shape of the mounting groove 46 essentially corresponds to a “U” with a shorter leg (or also a “J”).
- the front end of the control link 43 is formed essentially parallel to the barrel bore axis 11 and closed towards the front and is arranged behind the open end of the mounting groove 46.
- the sliding piece 4 has a relatively high material thickness at its front end 49 in this area.
- the rear end of the control link 43 which borders on the mounting groove 46, is formed essentially parallel to the bore axis 11.
- the width of the mounting groove 46 and that of the control link 43 are preferably the same and essentially correspond to the diameter of the control bolt 33.
- the third section of the assembly groove 46 extends further to the rear than the control link 43, namely 0.1 to 3 times the diameter of the control pin 33, preferably 0.5 to 1.5 times .
- the assembly position 61 shows the position of the control bolt 33 adjacent to the open end of the assembly groove 43, so to speak the first position of the control bolt 33 in the assembly groove 46 when assembling the closure.
- the locked position 62 shows the position of the control bolt 33 in the locking area of the control link 43 when the breech is locked.
- the locked position is directly adjacent to the fictitious transition line 47 shown in dashed lines and is the rearmost possible position of the control pin in the control link 43 (cf. Figure 4a ).
- the driving position 64 shows the position of the control pin 33 in the unlocking area of the control link 43 when the lock is unlocked.
- the driving position 64 is directly adjacent to the closed front end of the control link 43 and is the foremost possible position of the control pin in the control link.
- the disassembly position 66 shows the position of the control pin 33 in a rearmost possible position in the assembly groove 46.
- the distance between a locked position 62 and a disassembly position 66 corresponds to the shaping of the third section in the range of 0.1 to 3 times the diameter of the control pin 33, preferably 0.5 to 1.5 times.
- This shape means that unintentional twisting of the bolt head out of the locked position (as would be possible with an L-shaped assembly groove) is prevented, since a movement backwards must first take place to reach the disassembly position.
- the U-shape according to the invention therefore provides protection against disintegration without the need for a further component.
- bolt head 3 (with firing pin 50 and, if necessary, firing pin spring 51 - cf figs 2 , 3b and 4b ) is inserted with its rear end at the front of the slide 4 into the bolt head receptacle 42, so that the control bolt 33 is guided to the rear in the assembly groove 46.
- the bolt head 3 is rotated in the circumferential direction, so that the control pin 33 is guided in the second section of the assembly groove 46.
- the bolt head 3 and with it the control bolt 33 are brought forward and thus into the third section and further into the control link 43 .
- the closure is in the assembled state.
- figs 5a and b is the slider 4 with bolt head 3 off 2 shown in a housing upper part 21 of a housing 2 of a firearm.
- the upper housing is partially cut out, which allows a clear view of the interaction of the control pin 33 with the guide rail 25 of the upper housing part 21 .
- Fig.5a shows the position of the slider and bolt head in the unlocked state
- Fig.5b shows the breech in the locked state
- Figures 6a and b are corresponding to Figures 5a and b Cross-sections along the axis of the control pin and thus the position of the control pin 33 in the slider when the ( Figure 6a ) and locked ( Figure 6b ) closure shown.
- FIGs.7a and b point to correspondingly Figures 5a and b Illustrations of slider with bolt head without housing with unlocked ( Fig.7a ) and locked ( Fig.7b ) closure.
- the slider is arranged in the housing in such a way that the guide rail 25 of the housing upper part 21 engages in the guide groove 45 and the slider 4 can be moved back and forth along the housing.
- a guide rail 25 is usually formed on both sides of the housing, the slider 4 has correspondingly also in each case a corresponding lateral guide groove 45.
- a control window 255 is also formed on a guide rail 25 facing the control link 43 .
- the first section of the mounting groove 46 is on one side of the weapon center plane 90, the control link 43 on the other side.
- the control bolt 33 is essentially cylindrical with a lateral surface 333 and extends outwards in the radial direction of the bolt head 3, along the control bolt axis 334.
- the control bolt 33 is guided on its outer surface 333 in the mounting groove 46 and the control link 43 .
- the outer end of the control pin 33 is designed as a slope 332, which is at an acute angle to the axis 334 of the control pin.
- the slope 332 can cooperate with the guide rail 25 of the housing and closes when the breech is unlocked, as in FIG Figure 6a visible, preferably flush with the guide groove 45. Twisting of the bolt head 33 when the bolt is unlocked is prevented in this position by the interaction of the control pin 33 (or its bevel 332) with the guide rail 25.
- the guide rail 25 has a control window 255 at the position of the control link 43.
- the control pin 33 can reach through this control window 255, ie during the locking process the control pin 33 is guided along the helical middle section of the control link 43 and rotated in the circumferential direction, which is made possible by the control window 255.
- control pin 33 extends outwards along its control pin axis 334 .
- the control bolt axis 334a is at an angle ⁇ 36 to the weapon center plane 90 .
- the control pin axis 334b is at an angle ⁇ 37 to the control pin axis 334a in assembly position 61.
- the control pin axis 334c is at an angle ⁇ 38 to the control pin axis 334a in assembly position 61.
- the angle ⁇ 36 can be 20° to 65°, preferably 35° to 45°.

Description
US 9,995,542 B1 - Die

- In
Fig.5a und b ). - In
Fig. 4a ).
- In
Figs.
In
