Claims (13)

  1. Guardrail apparatus (10) for a system scaffold (50) having an orthogonal reference system comprising a width direction (B), a height direction (H) and a transverse direction (Q), comprising
    - scaffolding levels (52, 54, 56) having standards (58) arranged spaced apart in the width direction (B), transoms (60) connected to the standards (58) in the transverse direction (Q) and scaffolding decks (66) connected to the transoms (60) so as to run in the width direction (B),
    - wherein the guardrail apparatus (10)
    - is in the form of what is referred to as an advance guardrail apparatus which is mounted from an existing lower scaffolding level (52) for an upper scaffolding level (54) to be mounted thereabove and which then forms a side protection for the upper scaffolding level (54),
    - has at least one upper guardrail bar (16), also called handrail, which runs in the width direction (B),
    - has a right-hand vertical guardrail member (12) and a left-hand vertical guardrail member (14),
    - the right-hand and left-hand vertical guardrail members (12, 14) have right-hand and left-hand connection units (18.1, 18.2) for releasable connection to the standards (58) of the system scaffold (50),
    - characterized in that
    - a guardrail unit (40) is present, comprising
    - a right-hand and left-hand inner vertical strut (20, 22), wherein
    - the upper guardrail bar (16) is connected in the upper end region of the right-hand and left-hand inner vertical strut (20, 22),
    - the right-hand and left-hand inner vertical struts (20, 22) are respectively connected on the inner side to the right-hand and left-hand vertical guardrail member (12, 14), wherein
    -- a rotary connection unit (32) for temporarily rotating the guardrail unit (40) about an axis of rotation (30) running in the width direction (B) is present in the lower end region of the right-hand and left-hand vertical strut (20, 22), such that the guardrail unit (40) with its right-hand and left-hand inner vertical strut (20, 22) and with the upper guardrail bar (16) can be pivoted downwards by 180° relative to the right-hand/left-hand vertical guardrail member (12, 14),
    -- a releasable locking unit (34) for temporarily releasably locking the right-hand and left-hand inner vertical strut (20, 22) to the right-hand and left-hand vertical guardrail member (12, 14) is present in the upper end region of the right-hand and left-hand vertical strut (20, 22).
  2. Guardrail apparatus according to Claim 1,
    - characterized in that,
    - downwardly spaced apart from the upper guardrail bar (16), a lower guardrail bar (24) - also called knee rail - which runs in the width direction (B) is connected to the right-hand and left-hand inner vertical strut (20, 22).
  3. Guardrail apparatus according to Claim 1 or 2,
    - characterized in that
    - the height level (H1) of the arrangement of the axis of rotation (30) and of the rotary connection units (32) on the right-hand and left-hand vertical guardrail member (12, 14) proceeding from the lower end region is so great that, in the state folded down by 180° (degrees), the lower guardrail bar (24) is arranged at or below the height level (HB) of the scaffolding deck (66) of the system scaffold (50).

  6. Guardrail apparatus according to one or more of the preceding claims,
    - characterized in that
    - the releasable locking unit (34) is in the form of a screw unit, spring connector unit, bolt unit, lock unit or similar releasably lockable unit.
  7. Guardrail apparatus according to one or more of the preceding claims,
    - characterized in that
    - the rotary connection unit (32) is configured such that the right-hand/left-hand inner vertical strut (20, 22) is releasably connectable.
  8. Guardrail apparatus according to one or more of the preceding claims,
    - characterized in that
    - the length of the right-hand and left-hand inner vertical strut (20, 22) is in the range of between 40% to 60%, in particular approximately 50%, of the length of the right-hand/left-hand vertical guardrail member (12, 14).
  9. Guardrail apparatus according to one or more of the preceding claims,
    - characterized in that
    - the guardrail unit (40) has a toe board unit which is connected to the right-hand and left-hand vertical strut (20, 22) so as to run in the width direction (B) and which, when the guardrail apparatus (10) is mounted on the system scaffold (50), is arranged directly above the height level (HB) of the scaffolding decks (66) of the system scaffold (50).
  10. Guardrail apparatus according to one or more of the preceding claims,
    - characterized in that
    - the left-hand and right-hand vertical guardrail members (12, 14) are of telescopably arrestable configuration in the height direction.
  11. Guardrail apparatus according to one or more of Claims 1 to 9,
    - characterized in that
    - the left-hand and right-hand vertical guardrail members (12, 14) are configured so as to be foldably arrestable about an axis of rotation which runs in the width direction (B) or transverse direction (Q) and which is in particular arranged substantially at the height of the connected vertical struts (20, 22) of the axis of rotation (30).
  12. Guardrail apparatus according to one or more of the preceding claims,
    - characterized in that
    - the right-hand and left-hand vertical struts (20, 22) run in a parallel manner directly on the inner side of the right-hand/left-hand vertical guardrail member (12, 14).
  13. Method for introducing scaffolding components (10.1) to be mounted into a scaffolding bay (72) of a scaffolding level (56) of a system scaffold (50), in which an advance guardrail apparatus (10) according to one or more of the preceding claims is mounted,
    - characterized in that
    - the releasable locking unit (34) is released in each case on the right-hand and left-hand vertical guardrail member (12, 14),
    - the guardrail unit (40) with the right-hand and left-hand vertical strut (20, 22) and upper/lower guardrail bar (16, 24) is pivoted downwards by 180° (degrees) about the axis of rotation (30),
    - the scaffolding components (10.1) are introduced into the scaffolding bay (72) and are subsequently mounted,
    - the guardrail unit (40) is pivoted upwards by 180° (degrees) about the axis of rotation (30),
    - the guardrail unit (40) is connected in each case to the right-hand and left-hand vertical guardrail member (12, 14) by locking of the locking unit (34).
