Definitions
- the present invention relates to a lamp with a lamp housing with a hole and a spring element for producing a ground connection and possibly other parts of the lamp, such as a lamp, a driver, an ECG (electronic ballast), a cover, a mounting element and / or a device carrier.
- a lamp with a lamp housing with a hole and a spring element for producing a ground connection and possibly other parts of the lamp, such as a lamp, a driver, an ECG (electronic ballast), a cover, a mounting element and / or a device carrier.
- ECG electronic ballast
- Luminaires and many other electrical operating devices are divided into protection classes according to DIN EN 61140 (VDE 0140-1) and must have safety measures to protect against electric shocks when touching live parts in the event of an operating fault. This is particularly relevant for luminaire housings made from conductive materials.
- the connection to the light housing is made with a screw in the light housing. A ground wire is connected to this screw.
- a disadvantage of this type of fastening is that an additional work step is required in production for the additional setting of this screw for connection to the luminaire housing.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a lamp with a ground connection that can be produced easily and inexpensively.
- a special feature of the lamp according to the invention is the way in which the ground connection is made. Instead of screwing in a screw, a spring element is simply inserted into a hole, which expands independently. By spreading the legs of the spring element, the mechanical hold and a sufficient electrical contact to the material of the lamp housing are produced at the same time. This contact is sufficient to produce a sufficiently low-impedance connection between the contact element on the spring element and the lamp housing.
- the spring element has the advantage that it can be pushed into the hole in the housing by a simple plugging movement. A turn, like a screw, is not required. Therefore, the corresponding production step is simplified. Furthermore, the spring element is also cheaper to produce than a screw.
- the legs of the spring element are V-shaped or L-shaped to one another.
- the V or L shape has the advantage that the two legs already define a point that allows the spring element to be inserted into the hole, so that the legs are pressed together to spread in the hole. It should be understood that the open end of the V-shape or the L-shape in the state which the spring assumes outside the hole is larger than a hole diameter in which the spring element is inserted.
- the at least two legs have two different lengths, the longer leg lying in the hole and reaching at least to the edge above the hole and the shorter legs being arranged in the hole below the upper edge of the hole.
- the shorter leg has one end with the longer leg connected, lies with the opposite end against the inner wall of the hole and braces itself against the long leg.
- the construction with a shorter and a longer leg has the advantage that the shorter leg bears with a cutting edge against the inner wall of the hole in order to ensure the retention of the spring element in the hole, while the longer leg protrudes from the hole in order to attach it Area to provide the contact surface for the ground connection. In fact, apart from the two legs with the contact surface, no further elements are required for the spring element. This makes it particularly easy to produce.
- a section with a stop edge is formed on the spring element, with the stop edge resting on the upper edge of the hole in at least one area, preferably in two areas, whereby the stop edge forms a depth stop for the spring element in the hole.
- the depth stop of the stop edge has the advantage that the insertion depth of the spring element is fixed. This is advantageous because the splaying legs in the hole secure a movement of the spring only against the direction of insertion. Due to the depth stop in combination with the splaying of the spring legs, the spring element is therefore fixed in the hole in the direction of insertion and opposite to the direction of insertion.
- the section with the stop edge is pronounced between the end of the longer leg and the contact surface.
- the longer leg in any case projects at least to the upper edge of the hole in the housing. Therefore, this leg can also be used to to accommodate the stop edge of the spring member in one embodiment.
- the two legs of the spring element have an angle of at least five and at most 120° to one another before being pushed into the hole and are elastically compressed when pushed into the hole.
- the angles can vary depending on the elasticity of the legs of the spring.
- a relatively acute angle e.g. between 5° and 30°, has the advantage that the spring force on the inner walls of the hole for expanding the springs can be made comparatively large, since the legs do not have to be deflected much.
- a larger angle e.g. from 60° to 120°, has the advantage that the same spring element is also suitable for very different hole diameters.
- the spring element is formed in one piece in a stamping and bending process from a flat material, in particular from spring steel. This simplifies the production of the spring element. The costs for such a spring element are even lower than the costs for a screw.
- At least one of the legs of the spring element has a tongue which rests against an inner wall section of the hole with an edge or tip pointing towards the contact surface, in order to additionally claw the spring element.
- an additional barb in the form of a tongue is formed on one of the legs of the spring element or on both legs.
- This tongue possibly in combination with other edges of the leg, can prevent the spring element from being pushed back out of the hole.
- a corresponding tongue can be provided as a barb. The longer leg abuts the inner wall of the hole only because the longer leg extends over the top of the hole.
- the additional tongue can act as a barb here, so that the longer leg also claws firmly into the inner wall of the hole.
- the shorter leg does not necessarily need an additional barb because the top edge of the shorter leg already bites into the inside wall of the hole to claw the leg into the hole.
- the contact surface is designed as a tab receptacle.
- the contact surface is designed as a flat plug onto which, according to another preferred embodiment, a flat plug sleeve can be plugged, to which a grounding line can be connected.
- the connection of the spring element to the grounding line by means of a blade terminal sleeve can be produced easily and inexpensively.
- the flat receptacle or the counterpart of the flat receptacle only has to be plugged onto the spring element.
- no screw connections are necessary to connect the lamp housing to the ground line.
- the contact surface can be formed with a recess or a nose in order to secure a plug-in connection of the tab receptacle in a form-fitting manner.
- the lamp housing is made of a metallic material, in particular aluminum, for example aluminum die-casting, at least in the region of the hole.
- Aluminum has the particular advantage that on the one hand it provides very good electrical conductivity and on the other hand it is soft is enough so that one or more edges of the legs of the spring element cut into the aluminum material to hold the spring element in the hole and make a low-impedance contact with the lamp housing.
- the outer surface of the hole has a surface texturing.
- the surface texturing can allow for improved retention of the spring element in the hole.
- ribbing can be provided transversely to the longitudinal axis of the hole, so that one or more edges of the legs of the spring element are held on the ribbing counter to the direction of insertion.
- the hole has a round cross-section.
- the round cross-section is not only easy to produce, but also has the advantage that the same hole can also serve as a screw hole in an alternative application.
- the lamp housing has additional holes that are of the same shape as the first hole.
- variable lamp components such as ballasts, lampholders or other add-on parts of the lamp can be attached, and the spring element according to the invention for producing the grounding contact can also be inserted into one of the remaining holes.
- the one or more holes in the lamp housing can be designed as a blind hole, in particular as a conical blind hole, it being possible for a self-tapping screw to be penetrated into the blind hole.
- the self-tapping screws are not required to make the ground connection.
- the self-tapping screws are only intended for attaching other electrical components, such as the ballast, to the housing.
- FIG. 1 to 3 shows a spring element for the production of a ground connection of a lamp housing.
- the spring element has two legs 10 and 20 which assume a V-shape.
- the apex ⁇ of the V-shape is about 8° in the illustrated embodiment (see figure 3 ). In different embodiments, however, it can be up to 120°.
- the two legs are made in one piece from flat spring steel using a bending stamping process.
- a section 30 which has a greater width than the leg 10 also continues on the longer leg 10 .
- Section 30 forms a stop for the spring element in the hole.
- the lower edge of section 30 rests on an upper edge of the hole when the spring is assembled.
- a contact area 40 extends over section 30. This is adapted to connect a ground wire (not shown in the figures) thereto.
- the grounding cable can be plugged onto the contact area 40 with a flat plug, for example.
- the grounding cable can also be attached directly to the contact surface, for example by spot welding or by soldering.
- a depression in the illustrated embodiment a hole, is provided in the contact surface 40 . This indentation can interact with a spring nose of a tab sleeve in order to hold the tab sleeve on the contact surface 40 .
- the hole can also be used to solder or weld a ground wire directly to the contact surface.
- the contact surface 40 itself can also be designed as a flat plug sleeve, into which a flat plug of the grounding cable is inserted.
- the figure 4 12 shows a section of the lamp housing 110 in cross section.
- the lamp housing 110 has a blind hole 100 which, for example, has a diameter which is provided for a DIN standard screw (M3 to M8).
- M3 to M8 a DIN standard screw
- the spring element is held at this hole without any screw connection, just by inserting and expanding the spring element.
- the shorter leg 20 spreads out relative to the longer leg 10, with an upper edge of the shorter leg 20 cutting into the material of the inner wall of the hole. This cutting alone ensures that the spring element does not can be pulled out of the hole in the opposite direction to the insertion direction.
- the material of the lamp housing surrounding the hole is metallic, preferably aluminum, in order to produce sufficient conductivity to the grounding conductor of the spring element.
- Aluminum is also suitably soft, allowing the spring element to cut into the inner wall of the hole.
- a surface texturing is also provided in the inner wall of the hole.
- a simple thread or other radially extending grooves can be provided in the hole so that the frictional resistance between the spring element and the inner wall of the hole is increased.
- the spring element can have a punched-out tongue in one or more of the legs, which is bent outwards through the hole in relation to the perpendicular bisector.
- the tongue can also wedge in the inner wall of the hole with an edge or a point.
- the longer leg section which in the previously illustrated preferred embodiment of the figures lies flat only against the inner wall of the hole, can have a corresponding tongue in addition to holding the spring.
