    a second connecting element (7) which can be attached to an outer side (12) of a second ladder rail (4) of the first ladder (1), wherein the second connecting element (7) has at least one fastening device (9) for connection with the second ladder rail (4) and at least one hook (10) for holding the second ladder (11) on one of its rungs (5),
    wherein the respective connecting element (6, 7) has a further fastening device (9), characterised in that the further fastening device (9) is configured to engage in a recess (23) in a rung (5) of a further ladder (20) in order to connect the further ladder (20), at an end (22) of the further ladder (20), flush with an end (21) of the first ladder (1).
  2. Ladder connector according to claim 1, wherein the first and the second connecting element (6, 7) are arranged mirror-symmetrically to one another in relation to a plane.
  3. Ladder connector according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the first and the second connecting element (6, 7) in each case have a base element (25) which contains several openings in order to save weight.
  4. Ladder connector according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the first and the second connecting element (6, 7) are configured to embrace the respective ladder rail (3, 4) of the first ladder (1).
  5. Ladder connector according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the at least one hook (10) of the first connecting element (6) and the at least one hook (10) of the second connecting element (7) can be arranged on an inner side (13, 14) of the respective ladder rail (3, 4).
  6. Ladder connector according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the respective at least one fastening device (9) has a bolt (26) which is suitable to engage in a recess (23) in a rung (5) of the first ladder (1) or in a recess in the respective ladder rail (3, 4) provided for this purpose in order to fasten the respective connecting element (6, 7) to the respective ladder rail (3, 4).
  7. Assembly (15) comprising
    a ladder connector (2) according to one of the claims 1 to 6,
    a first ladder (1), and
    a second ladder (11) and/or a further ladder (20),
    wherein the first ladder (1) is connected by means of the ladder connector (2) with the second ladder (11) and/or the further ladder (20).
  8. Assembly according to claim 7, wherein the first ladder (1) and/or the second ladder (11) and/or the further ladder (20) is configured as a stepladder (16) which has a first stepladder section (17), a second stepladder section (18) and a hinge (19), and wherein the first stepladder section (17) and the second stepladder section (18) are connected with one another rotatably by means of the hinge (19).
