Description

The present invention relates to an improved control and control device for a "kite" type kite, or for a sailboat rig (built into the boom).

The invention further relates to a kite wing or a sailboat boom, provided with such a device.

The invention will be described with regard to its application to a kite wing, integrated in the bar of said wing, without being limited to this single application.

It is known that the kite wings have one or more flexible wings, of generally elliptical or semi-elliptical shape, flat or semi-flat and whose concavity is intended to be placed in the wind to constitute a means of traction, and possibly displacement of a user (or user) or other who is connected to the wing by cables called lines.

Such wings have many possible applications, including sliding sports, land, water, snow, and used for example for wakeboarding (such as "kitesurfing" in English), skateboarding ("mountain board" in English), the snowboard ("kitesnow" in English), the chariot ("buggy" in English), machines that are towed using a kite traction. These wings are used to pull all types of nautical or terrestrial equipment, slipping or rolling, but also are used for power generation systems using the force generated by such wings.

Une aile de ce type comporte généralement un bord d'attaque (partie avant) et un bord de fuite (partie arrière).A wing of this type generally comprises a leading edge (front portion) and a trailing edge (rear portion).

L'aile comporte en outre :

  • deux lignes qui gèrent la direction et la puissance, dites arrières, reliĂ©es aux extrĂ©mitĂ©s arrière latĂ©rales gauche et droite de l'aile ;
  • deux lignes dites avant, liĂ©es au bord d'attaque de l'aile ;
The wing further comprises:
  • two lines that manage the direction and the power, called rear, connected to the rear left and right ends of the wing;
  • two lines said before, related to the leading edge of the wing;
  • a fifth line called safety line, connected to the user by a delivery system and fixed directly or indirectly, via an optional clamping, on the leading edge of the wing, or on one of the four front and rear lines.

The ends of the four rear and front lines, opposed to the wing, are connected to the user via a control bar and more precisely, the ends of the two front lines are connected to a central end crossing the bar. , while the ends of the back lines are attached to the left and right ends of the bar.

The central portion of the bar is connected to the user by a delivery system connected to a user-worn harness or equivalent. The bar is held by the user with both hands.

Depending on the force of the wind, the user adjusts the traction power of the wing by tilting more or less, according to a variable plan defined by the points of attachment of the front and rear lines, and this by shortening or lengthening the distance from the point of attachment to the harness.

Selon la force du vent, l'utilisateur peut varier la puissance de traction de l'aile en l'inclinant plus ou moins à l'aide de la barre coulissante reliée aux lignes « arrière » (pilotage et puissance) par rapport aux lignes « avant » (traction).Depending on the wind force, the user can vary the traction power of the wing by tilting more or less using the sliding bar connected to the lines "rear" (control and power) compared to the lines " before "(traction).

If the wind force is too important or not important enough for the user, the latter can also thanks to a system of adjustment and central referral which connects, most generally the two front lines, adjust the power of his wing and thus extend his range of use. This operation modifies the wedging of the incidence of the wing.

In known manner, this maneuver is performed via a central adjustment and return system which connects, most generally the two front lines so central and slides perpendicularly across or near the bar. Said system makes it possible to adjust the incident inclination of the wing, decreasing or lengthening the distance between the rear trailing edge and the point of attachment to the front harness. The same system or its equivalent can be realized also from the back lines.

Thus, by pushing or pulling on the bar, it decreases or increases the incidence of the wing which by aerodynamic effect decreases or increases the tension in the lines (front and rear).

The user, to operate the central return adjustment system, must release a hand, and he / she then holds the bar with one hand.

This is a major drawback in terms of control of the wing, all the more annoying that the user needs to better control the bar when the force and / or wind direction changes.

It has been proposed according to the French patent application no. 1361291 filed by the applicant, and published under number FR3013227 , a bar having a central reel on the bar, operable with one hand, and associated with a return mechanism (internal to the bar) connected to both ends of the rear cables.

This system, while providing an advantageous improvement to the previous bars, is likely to improve, in terms of speed and responsiveness, the efforts that must provide the user, and the traction power on the cables.

In addition, the known mechanisms are not completely sealed and the presence of sand affects their operation and reliability.

The present invention relates to a control and control bar, for traction wing, which allows the user to adjust or adjust the power of the wing, that is to say the inclination (called the incidence) of the wing while maintaining the bar with both hands, and this with less effort, quickly and reactively, and offering unparalleled accuracy, and finally that is almost sealed to sand.

To this end, according to the invention, the control and control bar for wing kite type said traction, may be associated with two front cables and two rear cables, the cables being intended to be connected by one end at said wing, the bar being of substantially cylindrical elongate shape, the rear cables being connected to the bar, and the front cables being intended to be connected to the user, means being provided for shortening or lengthening the front or rear cables, in order to vary the inclination / the incidence of the wing, the means of shortening / elongation of the rear cables being integrated in the bar so as to be operable by one of the hands of the user without letting go of the bar, each rear cable being associated with a return system creating, for each rear cable, a cable strand of variable length, characterized in that said return system is mob it is in translation parallel to the axis of the bar, and is connected to return means, and in that the bar comprises means able to lock / unlock the position of the return system along the bar, depending on tensile forces exerted on the cables, said locking / unlocking means being accessible to at least one finger of the user from the outside of the bar.

Thus, the user shortens / lengthens the cables on the one hand without releasing the bar, and on the other hand with reduced effort, thanks to the return means.

Advantageously, the bar comprises an elongate member, such as a strip, one end of which is secured to the mobile return system and the other end of which is connected to the return means.

Preferably, said elongate member, the return means, the cable strands of variable length and the return means are disposed within the bar.

The return system comprises a movable slide.

In particular, the elongated element is a bar or a rigid rod.

The bar comprises means capable of blocking and unblocking the translation of the elongate member, and these comprise a movable male stud, able to take two stable positions, namely a locking position, where it cooperates with the slots or notches provided on the elongate element, and a retracted unlocking position, releasing the translation of the elongate element and therefore the return system.

More specifically, the post is connected by a transmission mechanism to a push button actuated by a user's finger from outside the bar. Thus, the bar comprises an actuating mechanism, in particular comprising a push button accessible from outside the bar, and a transmission mechanism connecting inside the bar said push button to the post.

Said return means comprise a gas cylinder or a return spring.

Said elongate element is connected on the one hand to the return means and on the other hand to the return system by a respective additional pulley.

The invention furthermore relates to a kite-type traction wing assembly, or a sailboat, paraglider or windsurf sail, comprising a sail or wing and at least one cable or line connecting the wing to said control bar as described and claimed, or connecting the sail to said device as described and claimed.

The invention is likely to be associated with wings in many applications, including sliding sports, land, water, snow, and used for example for wakeboarding, skateboarding, ski board, tank sailing. These wings are used to pull all types of nautical or terrestrial equipment, slipping or rolling, but also are used for power generation systems using the force generated by such wings.

We have shown on the figure 1 a schematic view of the principle of a sail 1 of parallelepipedal or square shape, convex, and connected to a control bar 2, held by a user / trice, which is not shown, via two cables or front lines 3 and 4, and two lines or rear cables 5 and 6.

The lines or cables 3, 4, 5, and 6 have one end each connected to a respective corner of the sail 1. The ends 6A and 5A, opposite the sail 1, the rear cables 5 and 6, are connected to the ends 2A 2A of the bar 2. The ends 3A and 4A (opposite the sail 1) of the front cables 3 and 4 are connected to a common central end 10 which passes near or in the center of the control bar 2. Beyond of the bar 2, opposite the sail, the tip 10 protruding from the bar is connected to a handle or ring called "drop" 10A.

In known manner, as a function of the speed and / or direction of the wind, symbolized by the arrow V, the user holding the bar 2 modifies the length of the front cables 3 and 4, for example in the manner shown on FIG. the figure 1 where the sail then takes a position shown in dotted lines and referenced 1A.

Thus, the user can change the angle of attack of the sail relative to the wind force, and thus adjust and manage the traction power of the wing.

The user can move on the water being associated with a windsurf board or equivalent, or on land on a sand yacht or equivalent.

The figure 2 shows a schematic view of the bar 2 of the figure 1 . The bar is connected to the sail 1 via the front cables 3 and 4 whose ends 3A and 4A are connected to the common end L which passes through the control bar, and the cables rear 5 and 6, the respective distal ends 5A and 6A are fixed to the ends 2A and 2B of the control bar 2.

En régime « de croisière » d'utilisation, l'utilisateur/trice tient la barre 2 par ses mains gauche 7 et droite 8 tandis qu'un harnais (connu en lui-même et non représenté) relie la barre 2 à l'utilisateur/trice qui n'est pas représenté(e).In use "cruise" mode, the user holds the bar 2 by his left 7 and right 8 hands while a harness (known in itself and not shown) connects the bar 2 to the user who is not represented.

The bar of the invention comprises a system for adjusting the length of the rear cables 5 and 6, for adjusting the power of the wing, by shortening / lengthening said cables, said system being actuatable by one of the hands of the user without letting go of the bar. The cables or front lines are, in the embodiment described, fixed length.

  • deux manchons coudĂ©s d'extrĂ©mitĂ©s 2C et 2 D pour le passage des câbles 5 et 6, respectivement ;
  • deux tiges filetĂ©es longitudinales 2E et 2F, pĂ©nĂ©trant dans la barre 2 aux extrĂ©mitĂ©s respectives de cette dernière et destinĂ©es au serrage / blocage des extrĂ©mitĂ©s de la barre ;
The figure 3 shows in perspective the bar of the invention where we find the elements described above, and furthermore the following elements:
  • two elbow sleeves 2C and 2D for the passage of the cables 5 and 6, respectively;
  • two longitudinal threaded rods 2E and 2F, penetrating into the bar 2 at the respective ends thereof and intended for clamping / locking the ends of the bar;
  • a radial sleeve 10, making a through passage for the common end L.

The system of the invention, for the shortening / elongation of the cables 5 and 6, is arranged inside the bar and is described below with regard to the figure 4 , at first, showing an embodiment.

We find on the figure 4 the rear cables 5 and 6, the two front cables 3 and 4. The bar 2 of the invention consists of a hollow cylinder, made of metal, or composite material and for example carbon, and about 30 at 60 cm for a diameter of about 20 to 30 mm. The bar is represented on the figure 3 , in longitudinal section and in "skinned", thus showing the interior.

The bar has at its two ends two sleeves 7 and 8 shutter, and substantially at its center, a fixed sleeve 9.

The front cables 3 and 4 pass through the bar 2, substantially at its center, through an opening 10A created in the bar 2, intended to receive the sleeve 10 (not shown) of the figure 3 , to allow the passage of said cables beyond the bar, to the harness (not shown) worn by the user. Specifically, the front cables 3 and 4 pass through the bar in a sheath (not shown for clarity) guiding them. The sleeve is arranged diametrically on the bar at a notch defining the central opening.

Dans la barre, sont également prévus :

  • Un coulisseau 11 de forme complĂ©mentaire apte Ă  se dĂ©placer dans la barre longitudinalement ;
  • Une rĂ©glette longitudinale 12, rendue solidaire dudit coulisseau 11, et prĂ©sentant une longueur d'environ 17 cm, et comportant une pluralitĂ© de trous 13, 14, etc. cylindriques et rĂ©gulièrement espacĂ©s, sur une partie de la longueur de la rĂ©glette ;
  • Un vĂ©rin Ă  gaz 15 comprenant un corps de vĂ©rin 16 Ă  l'intĂ©rieur duquel se dĂ©place un piston 17 dont l'extrĂ©mitĂ© distale est fixĂ©e au manchon fixe central 9 ;
In the bar, are also planned:
  • A slider 11 of complementary shape adapted to move in the bar longitudinally;
  • A longitudinal strip 12, secured to said slider 11, and having a length of about 17 cm, and having a plurality of holes 13, 14, etc. cylindrical and regularly spaced, over a part of the length of the strip;
  • A gas cylinder 15 comprising a cylinder body 16 inside which moves a piston 17 whose distal end is fixed to the central fixed sleeve 9;
  • A fixed functional block 18, disposed near the opening 10 for the passage of the front cables, and comprising an actuating mechanism 18 (detailed later) of a peg 19 movable diametrically, and whose end is adapted to traverse the one of the holes provided on the slide 12.

L'extrémité du câble arrière gauche 5 est reliée au manchon d'extrémité gauche 7.The left rear cable 5 passes through the left end sleeve 7, to engage, inside the bar 2, on a guide pulley, which is not shown, disposed inside the slider 11. The end of the left rear cable 5 is connected to the left end sleeve 7.

Thus, inside the bar, the cable 5 forms two parallel strands 5A and 5B between the end sleeve 7 and the slider 11.

The right rear cable 6 passes through the sealing sleeve 8, then completely crosses the bar from the inside, and passes through a return pulley (not shown) of diametrical axis and provided in the closure sleeve 7. The cable forms at the output of this pulley a first strand 6A which passes around the other deflection pulley provided on the slider 11, then forms a second strand 6B whose distal end is fixed to the end sleeve 7.

The pulley provided in the slider 11 is therefore common to the two rear cables 5 and 6.

The slider 12 is secured by its end 12B (opposite the end 12A secured to the slider 11) of the fixed central sleeve 9, by an additional cable or rope 20. The latter passes through a return pulley (not shown) axis diametrical and provided in a second slide 21 secured to the end of the jack 16 turned towards the end sleeve 8.

Le filin additionnel 20 comporte ainsi :

  • un premier brin 20A reliant l'extrĂ©mitĂ© 12 B de la barrette 12 et la poulie du second coulisseau 21 ;
The additional rope 20 thus comprises:
  • a first strand 20A connecting the end 12 B of the bar 12 and the pulley of the second slider 21;
  • a second strand 20B connecting said fixed central pulley or sleeve 9.

En effet, cette dernière est reliée, par le filin additionnel 20 de longueur totale fixe à un point fixe de la barre, c'est-à-dire le manchon central 9.The gas piston 15 is of the type known per se and is able to exert, as a function of the relative position of the rod of the piston 17 and the cylinder body 16, a restoring force on the strip 12. In fact, the latter is connected by the additional rope 20 of fixed total length to a fixed point of the bar, that is to say the central sleeve 9.

Reference is now made to Figures 5A to 5D showing bar 2 of the figure 4 following four steps or positions of the movable elements disposed within the bar, in use of the latter associated with a wing.

Cette position correspond à celle de la figure 3.On the Figure 5A the piston 17 is in maximum extension. As a result, the second slider 21 is in its extreme position, that is to say in abutment against the end sleeve 8. This position corresponds to that of the figure 3 .

On the Figure 5B under the action of traction forces exerted by the wing (not shown) and thus on the rear cables 5 and 6, the two slides 11 and 21 are moved to the left of the figure. The first slider 11 thus causes the slide 12 to be shifted to the left. In doing so, the strands 5A, 5B, 6A and 6B are shortened since the distance between the end sleeve 7 and the slider 11 is decreased.

En fin de course, on aboutit à la position représentée sur la figure 5C, le coulisseau 11 butant contre le manchon d'extrémité 7, et la tige de piston 17 étant rentrée quasiment totalement à l'intérieur du corps de vérin 16.At the end of the race, we reach the position represented on the Figure 5C , the slider 11 abuts against the end sleeve 7, and the piston rod 17 is retracted almost completely inside the cylinder body 16.

Moving the movable elements inside the bar leads to lengthen / shorten the rear cables 5 and 6, so as to adjust the behavior of the wing, its power, its inclination, etc.

By the two return pulleys provided in the respective sliders 11 and 21, it is found that a given distance "D" of elongation / shortening of the cables 5 and 6 leads to a displacement "d" in translation of the movable elements of the bar , such that: d = D / 4.

This makes it possible to limit the bulk of the bar, while benefiting from an amplitude of elongation / shortening of the cables, which is appreciable and sufficient for the user.

Reference is now made to Figures 6A to 6C , schematically showing the forces exerted on the strip 12 and thus on the cables 5 and 6. The additional wire assembly 20 / slide 21 / gas piston 15 is represented by schematically by a spring, while the end sleeves 7 and 9 are symbolized by fixed fasteners.

On the Figure 6A , a rest position is shown, that is to say that the force FA, exerted by the gas cylinder 15 on the strip 12, is greater in intensity than the force GA exerted by the rear cables 5 and 6 on the slide 12. The forces FA and GA are in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the base, but are in opposite directions.

The post 19 protrudes and enters the hole 13 of the slide 12, blocking the latter in translation. The gas cylinder 15 thus exerts a restoring force on the strip 12.

If the user presses the pushbutton (not shown and described later) of the actuating mechanism 18, associated with the pin 19, it thus returns it again in the bar 12, then releasing the strip 12 which can therefore move in translation.

Since the force FA is of greater intensity than the force GA, the slider moves to the right to a position of equilibrium represented on the Figure 5B , where the slider is subjected to two forces FB (cylinder return) and GB (rear cables) of equal intensities and opposite direction.

Cette situation correspond à une configuration de l'aile dite « légèrement bordée ».This situation corresponds to a configuration of the so-called "slightly lined" wing.

The user can, if he / she wishes, reset the pin 19 so that it blocks in this equilibrium position, the strip 12.

If instead the user makes sure that the holder 19 does not block the translation of the slide 12, then the forces exerted by the rear cables become greater than the restoring force of the gas cylinder. We then arrive at the position represented on the Figure 5C , where the force GC exerted on the slide by the rear cables, is greater than the restoring force FC exerted by the gas cylinder 15. On the Figure 6B , the strip 12 is in equilibrium, because subjected to two forces FB and GB of the same intensity, and opposite direction, in the longitudinal direction of the bar. This equilibrium position is reached when the user "edges" slightly the wing, that is to say that a moderate tension is exerted on the bar by the wing.

The Figures 7A and 7B are views in perspective and "exploded" of a portion of the bar, showing the actuating mechanism 18 associated with the movable pin 19 cooperating with the holes 13, 14, etc. of the strip 12, in order to block or unblock it in its longitudinal translation movement.

Ledit mécanisme d'actionnement 18 comporte :

  • un bouton poussoir 22 accessible depuis l'extĂ©rieur de la barre au travers d'une ouverture ;
  • un ressort de compression 23 diamĂ©tral ;
  • un petit vĂ©rin hydraulique 24 liĂ© audit tenon 19 de blocage pour translater ce dernier entre une première position active (figure 7A) oĂą il pĂ©nètre dans un des trous de la rĂ©glette, et une seconde position rĂ©tractĂ©e (figure 7B) oĂą il laisse libre le coulissement de la rĂ©glette ;
Said actuating mechanism 18 comprises:
  • a push button 22 accessible from outside the bar through an opening;
  • a compression spring 23 diametral;
  • a small hydraulic jack 24 connected to said blocking pin 19 to translate the latter between a first active position ( Figure 7A ) where it enters one of the holes in the slide, and a second retracted position ( Figure 7B where it leaves free the sliding of the ruler;
  • a rod 25 connected to the spring 23 and the cylinder 24 adapted to control the latter, by actuation on the spring.

The axis of translation of the locking pin 19 is substantially orthogonal on the one hand to the axis of translation of the push button 22 and on the other hand to the translation plane of the strip. Thus, the user can operate the latter with a thumb, from below the bar substantially facing the ground.

The figure 8 shows a perspective view and cut off some of the bar from the figure 4 and showing in particular a portion of the jack 15 and the deflection system, the sleeve 10 passing through for the passage of the cables, and the locking / unlocking means of the strip ( Figures 7A and 7B ).

The figure 9 shows the bar in perspective and cutaway, according to another embodiment without ruler and using a cylinder 150 called "self-locking".

Le vérin autobloquant est manoeuvré par l'utilisateur/trice, via un mécanisme à came 26, décrit plus loin, relié à un bouton poussoir 22 associé à un ressort de compression 23 (similaires à ceux de la réalisation des figures 7A et 7B).The self-locking cylinder is operated by the user, via a cam mechanism 26, described below, connected to a push button 22 associated with a compression spring 23 (similar to those of the embodiment of the invention). Figures 7A and 7B ).

La figure 10 montre une vue de détail du système de blocage 26 associé au vérin autobloquant 150.The figure 10 shows a detailed view of the locking system 26 associated with the self-locking jack 150.

The push-button 22 is integral with a rod 27 which is displaceable in diametrical translation and provided with a bevel 28. A lug 29 bears against the bevel 28, the lug being itself secured to a longitudinal arm 30 (passing in front of the sleeve 10 ) which is connected by a fork 31 to the piston 32 of the self-locking jack 150.

When the user pushes on the push button 22, the rod 27 moves in translation, which causes, by the bevel 28 then pushing the diametral lug 29, in longitudinal translation. This causes, via the arm 30 and the fork 31, the displacement of the piston 32 of the jack.

The latter is then subjected to the tensile forces exerted by the cables 5 and 6, as shown schematically on the figure 12B .

The self-locking cylinder 150 is of the type known to those skilled in the art, and says self locking in that its inner piston remains locked in translation as a release action is not applied to the piston, through push button, as described above.

When the user releases the push button, the piston 32 of the cylinder is no longer subjected to the longitudinal translation force (by the kinetics explained above), and then the piston is blocked again.

The figure 11 is a perspective view in "skinned" of a variant embodiment of the figure 9 , with self-locking cylinder, and provided with a system of pulleys with four returns respectively 210 (on the side of the fixed chamber of the cylinder 150) and 110 of the opposite side, beyond the sleeve 10).

The Figures 12A, 12B and 12C schematically illustrate the three embodiments of the bar, and the means of elongation / shortening of the cables, respectively the figure 4 (cylinder and ruler), the figure 9 (without ruler and with self-locking cylinder) and the figure 11 (without ruler, with self-locking cylinder and four-speed pulleys).
