Description

The present invention relates to a shower toilet with a water pipe which can be shut off, according to the preamble of claim 1.

Shower toilets, so water closets with a Unterduscheinrichtung, have been known for some time and gain in recent years in Europe increasingly important. For the name giving Unterduscheinrichtung that should clean the user after using the toilet, at least a water pipe and usually an electrical supply line is required. For this purpose, such a shower toilet is usually firmly connected to a water supply network (and optionally to an electrical supply network) of the corresponding building. In addition, the shower toilet is like any other water closet also connected to a sewer system to remove feces and dirty water can. The water from the water supply to the Unterduscheinrichtung is ultimately discharged through this sewer system.

The US 2004/0007264 A1 concerns a control circuit which blocks the water supply of a device connected to a water network when a leak is detected. Examples of such appliances are WCs, Boilers, Bathtubs and Bidets. In the case of the WC, it is recommended to place an appropriate water sensor near a bowl edge.

The US 6,024,116 A refers to a gas boiler for a building, wherein in a tub under the gas boiler a responsive to water in the tub safety valve is arranged, which optionally blocks the water supply and the gas supply. The gas boiler has a pressure relief valve in case of overheating due to malfunction.

The US 3,810,260 A shows a shower toilet, wherein the shower device is provided in a cuboid housing between a conventional cistern and toilet lid and toilet seat ring. This housing is removable and contains a water tank, which should run empty in the toilet bowl with each use after the end of the shower function. The housing further includes an electric pump, which is preferably battery powered.

The invention has for its object to provide a shower toilet, which is improved over the prior art in terms of reliability and / or economy.

The object is achieved by a shower toilet according to claim 1, wherein the dependent claims define advantageous embodiments.

The invention proceeds from a shower toilet with the mentioned water supply of the shower device. The inventors have dealt with the question of how to deal with a malfunction of a known shut-off valve in this water supply. It comes into consideration when disconnected shut-off the then uncontrolled ongoing water in the water supply simply to enter the toilet bowl, because these can be removed easily and inexpensively in question the amounts of water in question. However, the inventors found this solution unsatisfactory, because it is known for. B. during prolonged absence or inattention of the user actually to a Economically significant water consumption can come, namely by the funded by the water supply water runs unchecked for a long time. In addition, the inventors have considered that in toilets malfunction or clogging of the process can never be completely ruled out, for. As if children are in the home or even outside of the toilet in the sewer system existing reasons. In this case, an overflow of the toilet bowl would be expected.

Furthermore, there are shower toilets in the market, in which an uncontrolled water supply through the water supply to a water outlet to the floor z. As the affected bathroom would result. In these cases, it is evidently built on the fact that the user quickly takes note of this and remedy it, and that the clear water, which in these cases was not yet in the toilet bowl, causes only limited damage in a bathroom. Also, this solution is considered unsatisfactory, on the one hand for the above economic reasons and on the other hand, because in case of prolonged absence or inattention of the user actually threaten building damage.

Instead, the inventors consider it advantageous, despite the availability of water drainage in the toilet bowl to drive an extra effort and inventively provide a means for detecting the aforementioned uncontrolled water supply and an additional additional valve in the water supply, with which the water supply in the considered case can be shut off. For this purpose, the further valve is then controlled by the mentioned device depending on the detection of an uncontrolled water supply, so respond to this detection by blocking.

Although so are more components and a certain tax technical effort necessary, but with the invention firstly water wastage with prolonged water intake into the bowl, secondly structural damage in the discharge of water from an overflowed bowl or with appropriate design of the shower toilet directly from the shower toilet in the building (about on the bathroom floor) prevent and thus overall benefits in terms of security and economy. This also applies in the case of a flow disturbance, obstruction of the toilet bowl z. B. by playing children (toilet paper), on vacation absence and under similar circumstances.

The detection device described is a sensor or a switch that responds to a water level. If the water level exceeds a set point in a boiler or fresh water tank of the shower toilet, the sensor or switch responds and shuts off the other valve. For example, a humidity sensor could be activated by the water level and cause a control circuit to issue a control command to the valve. In a simpler case, it could be a float switch, the z. B. closes or opens a contact and thus activates the control circuit or directly causes the other valve to shut off.

The term "water level" is to be understood here as meaning that the overflow of water via an overflow edge is also meant to exceed a setpoint by a water level, although, of course, the water level at an overflow edge is limited by the overflow.

Such an overflow can, for. B. on a boiler for hot water supply of the shower device or on a fresh water tank (for example, powered by a water heater) may be provided. Preferably, then a vertical safety distance is maintained above the maximum water level, in which the water supply from the top expires freely in the boiler or fresh water tank. Here, the vertical safety distance is not necessarily meant in the sense of an exclusively vertical spacing between the spout and the water level in the boiler or fresh water tank; rather, the distance should have a vertical component in the sense of this safety distance, so it can also run obliquely over a ramp that directs the leaking water. As already stated, the sensor or switch can be replaced by the overflowing water from the boiler or Fresh water tank are triggered and lead to the desired Absperraktion the other valve.

This further valve is preferably a safety valve which closes in the de-energized state and is to be opened electrically ("normally closed"), so that the water supply line is shut off in the event of a power failure. In particular, it may be provided in addition to a control valve of the shower toilet.

The inventively existing sensor or switch for detecting the uncontrolled water supply can also control the valve for controlling the water supply, so the already existing valve in the water supply, via the control of the other valve, so that this has a shut-off function in cases where Although this valve is not defective (for which the other valve is provided), but in which there is another reason to capture excessive water. Then additional redundancy would be provided for these situations.

According to a further embodiment of the invention, there are at least two switches or sensors for detecting the water supply, which are independent of each other, one of which, as already mentioned, the further valve controls, and the other either still another or already existing control valve controls , In the latter case, therefore, the control valve has a double function and serves on the one hand to controlled and the functional sequence of the shower fitting corresponding inlet to the shower device in normal operation and on the other hand the shut-off in exceptional cases, namely response of the second switch or sensor. For example, so could be combined two sensors, such as two independent level sensors in a boiler or fresh water tank or z. B. a level sensor in it and a second sensor that detects over an overflow water discharged. The two sensors then control either the further valve or only one of them controls this further valve and the other the already existing valve for controlling the water supply of the shower toilet.

The valves and the switches or sensors are preferably structurally integrated in the shower toilet itself, ie not outside of it, for example, at the beginning of a water supply line. In particular, they may be provided in such a toilet bowl in a body made of ceramic or plastic toilet body of the shower toilet and / or an attachment housing. Preferably, it is a so-called stand-alone shower toilet, although the invention is of course also feasible with, for example, in the installation wall (partially) integrated showering technique and in particular components according to the invention.

Finally, an autonomous electronic hardware is preferably provided for the already mentioned control between the detection of the uncontrolled water supply by the sensor or switch on the one hand and on the other hand, the at least one controlled valve. This means that the hardware is constructed independently of the overall control provided for the rest of the operations of the shower toilet, so z. B. the control of the other valve is not done only by a software on the same microcontroller, which takes over the shower-WC control. Thus, the reliability can be increased because experience has shown that such overall control devices can fail.

This separate hardware may for example be constructed as a discrete circuit of electronic components or a second microcontroller with an independent software (firmware) or an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array).
The invention is illustrated below with reference to an embodiment, the individual features but also in other combinations of meaning.

The single figure essentially represents a section of a hydraulic line diagram of a shower toilet as an exemplary embodiment. In the reference numeral 1 is provided in a conventional manner a permanent connection to a building-side fresh water mains, with a manual shut-off valve 2 and a particle filter. 3

Downstream of this there is a "series connection" of a first control valve 4 and a further second safety valve 5. The symbol therebetween denotes an adjustable throttle for limiting the water volume flow.

Further downstream along the designated in the figure with 6 water supply follows a free outlet 7 in a water tank, here a fresh water tank 8 for supplying a water heater, not shown, the shower facility of a shower toilet. Under this free outlet 7 exists a free vertical distance of about 22 mm to a maximum level, which is defined by an overflow edge 9 of the fresh water tank 8.

Thus, water in the fresh water tank 8 under any circumstances can no longer return to the water supply line 6. Rather, excess water flows from the fresh water tank 8 via the overflow edge 9 into a collecting tray 10, in the lower region of which a water sensor 11 is provided. This water sensor responds to the presence of water in the shell 10 and actuates via an evaluation and control hardware 12, the already mentioned safety valve 5 (the "other" valve). This would be closed in the detection of water in the shell 10 and is otherwise open. However, it is a "normally-closed" valve, so it also closes in the event of a power failure.

The water tank 8 supplied via a direction indicated at its lower end line 13, in which a water pump 14 is included, the water heater of the shower device and ultimately the shower arm of the shower device. These details are not shown and correspond to the state of the art.

In the water tank 8, just below the level of the overflow edge 9, a further sensor, namely a level sensor 15, is provided, which via a signal line is connected to the overall control 16 of the shower toilet and via this with the control valve 4. The overall control can thus control the level in the water tank 8 depending on the operating state of the shower WC and in particular lock the water inlet through the outlet 7 with the control valve 4 when the level sensor 15 indicates that the water tank 8 is completely filled. The controller 16 is solved in the manner already mentioned separately from the controller 12 for the water sensor 11 and the control of the safety valve 5. "Separate" means no spatial or structural separation, but an independent functioning. Thus, if the overall controller 16 "crashes" or "hangs itself down", then this does not automatically affect the controller 12 because it is not just a piece of software in the overall controller 16, but works independently with stand-alone hardware.

The lavatory body of the shower toilet comprises in the present case all components shown except the most upstream piece of water supply line 6 with the manual stopcock 2 and the filter 3. This piece represents the connection to the mains in the building wall. The two shut-off valves 4 and 5, however integrated in the toilet bowl 17.

As already explained, the water sensor 11, the controller 12 and the further valve 5 protect against an uncontrolled water supply when the control valve 4 does not close due to a defect or is not driven due to a fault in the overall control 16 or if the level sensor 15 fails. It then comes neither to excessive water consumption nor leakage of water on the floor nor to overflow the toilet bowl, even if this or her spout should be clogged.

The embodiment could be modified by z. B. instead of the overflow trough 10 and the water sensor 11, a second level sensor is selected or the same a level sensor 15 additionally the safety valve 5 on the Control 12 or via the overall control 16 closes when it has to close the control valve 4.
