Definitions

  • the invention relates to a vacuum cleaner, in particular a hand-held vacuum cleaner, with a housing which provides a dust collection space and a dust separation device which is arranged in the dust collection space.
  • Vacuum cleaners in general and hand-held vacuum cleaners in particular are well known per se from the prior art, which is why separate printed documentation is not required at this point.
  • a generic vacuum cleaner typically has a suction fan which, when used as intended, generates a suction air flow. This reaches the dust collection space provided by the housing via an inlet opening. There it passes the dust separation device, which holds back dust particles, impurities and / or similar impurities carried along by the suction flow. The suction air stream, which has been cleaned to that extent, continues to pass through the pressure-generating fan and then leaves the housing via corresponding blow-out openings.
  • the dust separating device becomes clogged by adhering dust particles, impurities and / or the like, which adversely affects the efficiency of the vacuum cleaner. It is therefore necessary that the dust separation device is cleaned and / or renewed from time to time.
  • the cleaning and / or renewal of the dust separation device is perceived by the user as unpleasant or annoying. In practice, this often means that regular cleaning and / or renewal of the dust separation device is not carried out, which then disadvantageously leads to a reduced suction power. This has a disadvantageous effect in particular, but not only, in the case of battery-operated handheld vacuum cleaners.
  • the DE 10 2012 009976 A1 discloses a vacuum cleaner having a housing which provides a dust collection space and a dust separating device which is shown in FIG Dust collection space is arranged, wherein the dust separation device (9) is designed to be rotatable about an axis of rotation (20).
  • the invention proposes a vacuum cleaner of the type mentioned at the beginning, which is characterized in that the dust separation device is designed to be rotatable and displaceable about an axis of rotation.
  • a dust separation device which can be rotated about an axis of rotation.
  • the dust separating device is cleaned off by the fact that dust particles, contaminants and / or similar contaminants adhering to it are thrown off by the centrifugal force induced as a result of the twisting movement.
  • This thrown-off dirt remains in the dust collection space and can be disposed of when the dust collection space is emptied the next time.
  • the rotationally rotatable arrangement of the dust separator means that manual removal for the purpose of cleaning by the user can be dispensed with. Without the need to remove the dust removal device, the user can clean the dust removal device by causing it to rotate about its axis of rotation.
  • the configuration according to the invention makes it possible for the user to be able to clean the dust separation device in a simple and convenient manner, to be precise without prior removal from the housing. Such cleaning can be carried out, for example, by simply pressing a button before and / or after each vacuum cleaning, so that a dust separation device that is always cleaned is available with the aim of optimized suction power.
  • the dust separation device is shown in FIG Designed to be displaceable in the longitudinal direction of its axis of rotation.
  • the dust separation device can therefore be moved from a first position into a second position and vice versa.
  • the dust separating device is in its first position in the so-called suction position, in which the vacuum cleaner can be operated as intended.
  • the dust separation device In its second position, the dust separation device is in its cleaning position, in which the dust separation device can be cleaned in the manner already described.
  • the dust separation device has turbine blades. This turbine blading is used to be able to set the dust separation device in rotary motion, provided that the dust separation device is in its cleaning position.
  • the construction according to the invention does not require any additional motor support. Rather, the suction air flow generated by the suction fan during operation is used to set the dust separation device in rotation for the purpose of cleaning. For this reason, the dust separation device has turbine blades which, in the event of a suction air stream flowing past it, cause the dust separation device to rotate accordingly. In an alternative embodiment, however, it is also conceivable to arrange an additional motor element which sets the dust separation device in rotation.
  • the turbine blading in the first position of the dust separation device, is immersed in a receiving space provided by the housing. In the suction position, that is to say in the first position of the dust separation device, the turbine blading is therefore not in operative connection with the suction air flow generated by the suction fan.
  • the turbine blading is arranged within the receiving space provided for it and the suction air drawn in by the suction fan is passed through the dust separation device for the purpose of cleaning.
  • the dust separation device is held in its first position under the application of spring force. So if there is no manual transfer of the dust separation device from the suction position to the cleaning position, the dust separation device is in the suction position, which is accomplished by means of a compression spring acting on the dust separation device. To transfer the dust separation device from the suction position to the cleaning position, the dust separation device must be axially displaced against the spring force acting on it, which can be done by the user by means of a corresponding actuating element.
  • the dust separation device has a base plate on the one hand and a cover on the other hand.
  • the cover and the base plate are arranged at a distance from one another and hold between them a cylindrical filter element with a casing body formed from a filter material.
  • the turbine blading is arranged on the base plate, so that the turbine blading is automatically immersed into the receiving space when the control separating device is brought into its first position, that is to say the suction position, under spring force.
  • an actuating element is provided for manual transfer of the dust separation device from its first position to the second position.
  • This actuating element is accessible from the outside by the user, that is to say without prior opening of the housing and / or the dust collecting space.
  • the actuating element is preferably a sliding element which acts on the dust separation device with the interposition of a linkage.
  • an additional space arranged next to the dust collecting space is provided, the dust collecting space merging into the intermediate space with the interposition of a passage opening.
  • the dust separation device is arranged in a longitudinally displaceable manner within this passage opening, the dust separation device being able to be transferred from a suction position to a cleaning position and vice versa in the manner already described.
  • the special feature of the alternative embodiment is that air openings are formed in the wall of the housing that delimits the additional space so that fresh air can be drawn in from the outside directly through the air openings in the wall of the housing when the dust separating device is in the cleaning position.
  • This fresh air sucked in from the outside provides a twisting movement of the dust separation device with the help of the turbine blading in the manner already described.
  • the particular advantage of this alternative embodiment is that it is not a suction air flow, but a fresh air flow that is used to set the dust separating device in a corresponding twisting movement, so that the ventilation slots in the housing are not used to discharge dust-laden air, but rather to discharge fresh air .
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 each show an alternative embodiment of the vacuum cleaner 1 according to the invention, the so-called “suction position” being shown in the figures above the axis 20 and the so-called “cleaning position” being shown below the axis of rotation 20.
  • the vacuum cleaner 1 has a housing 2. This is divided into two areas by means of a partition 3, one area being formed by the dust collecting space 4 and the other area being formed by the blower space 5.
  • the blower chamber 5 is used to accommodate a suction blower 6, which has an electric motor 7 and an impeller 8 in a manner known per se.
  • a dust separating device 9 is arranged within the dust collecting space 4. This has a top plate 11 and a base plate 10, between which an annular filter fabric 12 extends. Overall, the dust separation device 9 is designed to be rotationally symmetrical to the axis of rotation 20.
  • the dust separation device 9 is mounted on a shaft 13 so that it can be freely rotated about the axis of rotation 20. On the shaft 13, the dust separator 9 can be moved in the longitudinal direction 14, that is, with reference to the plane of the drawing according to the Figures 1 and 2 left and right.
  • a compression spring 15 is arranged between an abutment 16 provided by the shaft 13 and the dust separation device 9.
  • the dust separator 9 is under spring preload, which causes an automatic movement of the dust separator 9 with reference to the plane of the drawing according to the Figures 1 and 2 to the right into the first position of the dust separating device 9, that is to say the so-called "suction position".
  • the dust separating device 9 can be moved axially out of the "dust position" into the "cleaning position" on the user side, that is to say in the longitudinal direction 14 with reference to the plane of the drawing according to FIG Figures 1 and 2 to the left.
  • the actuating element 23 has a slide 24 which is accessible on the outside of the housing and which interacts with the dust separation device 9 with the interposition of a linkage 25.
  • the dust separation device 9 is equipped with a turbine blading 21 which is arranged on the base plate 10.
  • the turbine blading 21 dips into a receiving space 22 provided by the partition 3.
  • the turbine blading 21 is exposed, as is the case Figures 1 and 2 can be seen in each case in the sectional view located below the respective axis of rotation 20.
  • an additional space 26 is provided, which is formed between the dust collection space 4 and the receiving space 22.
  • the additional space 26 is separated from the dust collection space 4 by a partition which provides a passage opening 27.
  • the dust separation device 9 is held with its base plate 10 so as to be longitudinally displaceable.
  • the wall of the housing 2 is formed with air openings 28 through which a fresh air flow 29 can be sucked in.
  • An essential part of the embodiment according to the invention is the rotationally symmetrical dust separation device 9, which cleans air that has been sucked in and contaminated with dirt.
  • This dust separation device 9 is mounted rotatably on the shaft 13 and is axially displaceable in the longitudinal direction 14.
  • the end face, that is to say the head plate 11, is designed to be impermeable to air.
  • the so-called suction position the sucked-in suction air stream 17 is passed through the cylindrically arranged filter fabric 12, cleaned and, after passing through the blower chamber 5, exits through the ventilation slots 18 into the atmosphere surrounding the vacuum cleaner 1. Due to the air resistance, the dust separating device 9 is pressed downstream in the direction of the receiving space 22, with spring support in the form of a compression spring being provided for the purpose of safe immersion of the turbine blades 21 in the receiving space 22 provided for this purpose.
  • the actuating element 23 is in the "suction" position.
  • the dust separation device 9 is locked in this position in order to reliably prevent a possible rotation of the dust separation device 9 around the shaft 13.
  • the rotationally symmetrical turbine blading 21 is in this position of the dust separation device 9 in the associated receiving space 22 and is from Suction air stream 17 does not flow through. If the dust separating device 9 is brought into its "cleaning position" by means of the actuating element 23, the turbine blading 21 is guided out of the receiving space 22, whereby the turbine blading 21 is exposed to the suction air flow 17. Due to the increased flow resistance of the dust separating device 9, which is contaminated in the case of cleaning, a large part of the suction air flow 17 is no longer passed through the filter fabric 12 but through the turbine blades 21, as a result of which the dust separating device 9 is set in rotation about the axis of rotation 20 defined by the shaft 13.
  • the speed of the dust separation device is, for example, between 1,000 and 5,000 revolutions per minute, as a result of which dust particles, contaminants and / or similar contaminants adhering to the filter fabric 12 are centrifuged off.
  • the dust separation device 9 can also be mounted on the shaft 20 with the formation of an imbalance. In the cleaning position, this can lead to the triggering of additional vibrations and / or oscillating movements, which have a positive influence on the cleaning of the filter fabric 12 that is desired to be achieved.
