Description

The invention relates to lighting and / or signaling devices, and more particularly relates to the so-called “lantern” function providing rear signaling of vehicles and in particular of motor vehicles.

It also relates to a vehicle rear light comprising such a device.

This type of function must of course meet the regulatory requirements in terms of light intensity, photometry, colorimetry and distribution of the luminous flux in the visibility space and in particular in the rear space of the vehicle as regards rear signaling lights. providing the "lantern" function.

Another requirement which is not regulatory but which is becoming essential is that of the aesthetics of the lighting and / or signaling functions.

The components generating the light beams, their associated optics and their renderings for an outside observer, participate in the visual signature of a vehicle model and / or its make and may be elements falling within the selection criteria at the time of the act of purchasing a vehicle.

The term "lighting and / or signaling device" is understood here to mean a device or equipment comprising a reflector, arranged so as to return light rays which emanate from a light source of the bulb or bulb type towards a determined direction. a plurality of light sources such as light-emitting diodes (or LEDs).

A defect generally observed, concerning in particular the signaling functions, and in particular the "lantern" function, lies in the fact that it does not provide uniform illumination over the entire visibility surface of the light.

The figure 1 illustrates a front left optical unit 1 of a vehicle automobile in which a signaling device 2 of the state of the art is installed.

This optical unit 1 and its lighting device 2 are described in the document FR2960639 .

With reference to the figure 2 which details the lighting device 2 of the state of the art, the signaling function is performed from a strip 3 shaped to present faces 4 of generally parabolic shape, adjacent, defining as many reflectors 5 as there are faces 4.

The parabolic faces 4 of the reflectors 5 are respectively connected to each other by optically neutral junction elements 6.

Les éléments de jonction 6, ne reçoivent pas de rayon lumineux généré par les LEDs 8.An electronic circuit 7 in the form of a printed circuit board (PCB), supports a plurality of LEDs 8 arranged so that their active surfaces 9 respectively face the center of each parabola 4 to create a plurality of oriented light beams 10. towards a screen (not shown), capable of diffusing the light received over the entire surface of the screen. The junction elements 6 do not receive a light ray generated by the LEDs 8.

These junction elements 6 reveal, for an observer located at the front of the vehicle, and facing the screen, as many dark areas as there are junctions 6. This results in a degradation of the homogeneity of the lighting function and / or signaling and therefore the rendering of these functions, which creates an unsightly effect, and harms the general impression of quality.

DE102009009765 A1 divulgue un autre dispositif de signalisation connu. DE102009009765 A1 discloses another known signaling device.

The aim of the invention is therefore to propose an alternative solution which makes it possible to improve the situation.

It proposes for this purpose a lighting and / or signaling device according to the independent claim.

The object of the invention is to provide a lighting device, the screen of which provides uniform illumination.

D'autres applications hors du domaine automobile sont également possiblesIn what follows, it is considered, by way of nonlimiting example, that the lighting device is intended for the lighting function of the “lantern” type and forms part of a vehicle rear light, possibly of the automotive type. . However, the invention is not limited to this application. The lighting device may be of the DRL ("Daytime running Light (or Lamp)") type intended to be automatically put into operation (or switched on) when the vehicle which it equips begins to move forward. Other applications outside the automotive field are also possible

The figure 3 , illustrates in a perspective view, a left rear light 100 of a motor vehicle equipped with a lighting device 20 according to the invention, which is intended to provide the “lantern” function.

The figure 4 schematically illustrates the rear light of the figure 3 in a cross-sectional view, along the axes of section IV-IV of the figure 3 .

The rear light 100 comprises a box 30 sealingly enclosing several lighting and / or signaling functions.

The upper half 31 of the box 30, defining a first chamber open to the outside of the light 100, houses one or more lighting and / or signaling functions such as the reversing light, brake light, flashing light functions.

The lower half 32 of the box 30, defining a second chamber open to the outside of the light 100, houses the lighting device 20 according to the invention.

The two chambers 31 and 32 are separated by a horizontal partition wall 33 partially closing the chambers 31 and 32 to leave a central passage 34 between the two chambers 31 and 32.

The two chambers 31 and 32 are sealed by a common mirror 35 or by two separate windows specific to each chamber 31 or 32.

La première chambre 31 canalise la lumière émise par la source vers l'extérieur du feu 100 protégée par la glace 35.The rear face 36 of the upper half 31 of the housing 30 supports a light source 37 of the bulb type to perform, for example, the “brake light” function. The first chamber 31 channels the light emitted by the source to the outside of the fire 100 protected by the glass 35.

La cloison de séparation 33 des première et deuxième chambres 31 et 32 supporte, au voisinage de la face arrière 36 du boitier 30, un circuit imprimé 38 en forme de barrette, supportant lui-même une pluralité de LEDs 39.The partition 33 of the first and second chambers 31 and 32 supports, in the vicinity of the rear face 36 of the box 30, a printed circuit 38 in the form of a strip, itself supporting a plurality of LEDs 39.

The strip 38 extends in the plane of the partition 33, perpendicular to the glass 35 and it is arranged so as to present the active surfaces 40 of the LEDs 39 facing the lower face 41 of the box 30.

L'éclairage à LEDs est dédié à la fonction « lanterne ».LED lighting is dedicated to the "lantern" function.

A single reflector 50, of generally concave shape, is arranged and fixed inside the second chamber 32 and extends in a direction parallel to the bar 38 between the bar 38 and the lower face 41 of the housing 30.

The reflector 50 is arranged so as to return all of the light rays, emitted by the LEDs 39 in a first general vertical direction, towards the glass 35 in a second general horizontal direction.

In one embodiment of a reflector 50 according to the invention, with reference to the figure 5 , the reflector 50 is in the form of a sheet obtained for example by profiling a plastic material such as ABS-PC, the face 51 of which, intended to be opposite the active surfaces 40 of the LEDs 39, is covered with a light-reflecting layer or else tinted throughout the reflector 50. The color of the reflecting face 51 is preferably chosen “white”: color which “bursts” the light reflected on the face 51 and reinforces the appearance homogeneous illumination of a screen in comparison with a reflective surface of "aluminum" color which can promote "hot spots", in other words areas more reflective than others.

The dimensions and the shape of the reflecting face 51 which in the embodiment can be confused with the web 50 itself, are determined so as to obtain the lantern function with a specific visual effect for an observer located at the rear of the vehicle and therefore in front of the rear light 100.

La fonction lanterne est restituée par un écran 60 convexe disposé et fixé dans la deuxième chambre 32 du boitier 30.The lantern function is restored by a convex screen 60 arranged and fixed in the second chamber 32 of the box 30.

La partie inférieure de l'écran convexe 60 repose sur le bord périphérique inférieur du boitier 30 et ses bords latéraux épousent les bords latéraux du boitier 30.The lower part of the convex screen 60 rests on the lower peripheral edge of the box 30 and its side edges match the side edges of the box 30.

La partie supérieure de l'écran 60 s'arrête à l'intérieur du boitier sensiblement au centre de la deuxième chambre 32 et en dessous de la cloison de séparation horizontale 33 de manière à laisser un passage entre la cloison 33 et l'écran 60.The upper part of the screen 60 stops inside the case substantially in the center of the second chamber 32 and below the horizontal partition 33 so as to leave a passage between the partition 33 and the screen 60 .

In the embodiment illustrated in figures 3 and 4 , and more visibly at the figure 3 , the screen 60 defines light patterns taking the general form of two concentric half-rings 61 and 62: an interior light half-ring 61 and an exterior light half-ring 62. The two patterns 61 and 62 are produced on the screen. screen 60 by known techniques of sanding, graining or using an opaline material or any other process or material capable of diffusing a light beam homogeneously over the entire surface of the patterns 61 and 62.

The two half-rings 61 and 62 are separated by a zone 63 opaque to light, advantageously bringing out the patterns 61 and 62 when they are illuminated.

These patterns define a particular light signature for the rear part of the vehicle giving a depth or 3D effect of the “lantern” function.

As illustrated on figure 5 , the dimensions and the shape of the reflecting surface 51 of the reflector 50 - length L (along Y), width ℓ (along X), height H (along Z) and radius of curvature R - are adapted so as to receive a hand, the set of light rays emitted by the plurality of LEDs 39 and, on the other hand, to return said rays to the patterns 61 and 62 of the screen 60 with the minimum loss of luminous flux.

In the embodiment illustrated on figure 4 , the reflector sheet 50 has a radius of curvature R progressively increasing from its upper part to its lower part characteristic of a parabolic shape.

A vertical partition 70 integral with the horizontal partition 33, or attached to the latter, is arranged in the second chamber 32 so as to channel the light rays emitted by the LEDs 39 towards the center of the parabolic surface of the web. reflector 50.

It will also be noted that the reflector 50 can constitute an integral part (integrally formed by molding) of the housing 30 or else it can be an attached molded part which is housed in the housing 30.
