- Method for transferring rod-shaped articles of the tobacco processing industry from a longitudinal conveyor (12) for transporting the articles (11) along a longitudinal axis to a transverse conveyor (13) for transporting the articles (11) along a transverse axis or vice versa, in particular having an apparatus (10) according to any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein the transport directions T1 of the longitudinal conveyor (12) and T2 of the transverse conveyor (13) extend in linear alignment, comprising the steps:- picking up rod-shaped articles (11) from the longitudinal conveyor (12) or transverse conveyor (13) by means of a drum body (14) rotating about a rotational axis I of an apparatus (10) for transferring rod-shaped articles (11) of the tobacco processing industry,- in that at least two rod-shaped articles (11), each, are picked up from the longitudinal conveyor (12) or transverse conveyor (13) by receptacles (16, 17), which are mounted on a carrier element (15) that is arranged pivotably about a pivot axis II,- turning the drum body (14) about the rotational axis I and thus moving the rod-shaped articles (11) by a specified angle,- orienting the at least one carrier element (15) about the pivot axis II while turning the drum body (14) by the specified angle,- turning the rod-shaped articles (11) lying in the receptacles (16, 17) by 90° from a longitudinal-axial to a transverse-axial orientation and vice versa, and- discharging the rod-shaped articles (11) to a transverse conveyor (13) or longitudinal conveyor (12),characterised in that the rod-shaped articles (11) located on a carrier element (15) are altered in their position to each other during rotation of the drum body (14) about the rotational axis I.
- Method according to claim 10, characterised in that two tobacco rods, each, lying individually and lying parallel on the longitudinal conveyor (12) as rod-shaped articles (11) are picked up and by pivoting the receptacles (16, 17) about their own pivot axis S1 and S2 are moved away from each other by 90° in each case into a position in which the two tobacco rods are aligned flush with each other and are provided at a distance from each other.
- Method according to claim 11, characterised in that dual filters (19) are inserted in the apparatus (10) for transfer such that on transfer to the transverse conveyor (13) a dual filter (19) lies between each of the tobacco rods and constitutes a formation aligned flush with the tobacco rods.
