Abstract

L'invention concerne un système pour avancer une aiguille à travers un système vasculaire jusqu'à un site d'injection au niveau du cœur d'un patient, qui comprend un cathéter-guide ayant une pointe distale réfléchissante. L'invention concerne également une unité d'imagerie qui est montée sur le cathéter pour émettre un champ d'énergie. De façon structurale, une partie distale du cathéter est sollicitée pour se plier dans une configuration prédéterminée qui positionnera l'extrémité distale du cathéter de façon à ce que celle-ci soit interceptée par le champ d'énergie. Si nécessaire, une coïncidence de la pointe réfléchissante avec le champ d'énergie est établie par déplacement du champ d'énergie le long du cathéter-guide. Au moyen de cette coïncidence, la pointe réfléchissante réfléchit un signal qui est utile pour faire avancer l'aiguille 34b du cathéter-guide au site d'injection.
