Il comporte, fixés de façon irréversible sur une platine (10) et chacun pré-réglé de façon irréversible par la fixation irréversible de composants de réglage ou/et d'assemblage, après un réglage et un contrôle fonctionnel de sa fonction horlogère particulière réalisés au banc d'essai, des modules fonctionnels : un module de rouage (13), un module d'affichage (14), et un module de mise à l'heure (15).
Autres sous-ensemble mécaniques comportant, chacun fixé de façon irréversible sur le sous-ensemble mécanique précédent d'ordre inférieur, différents modules :

- module bâti garni monté dispositif automatique (20)
- module de régulation (16) porte-échappement
- rouage de minuterie
- module de quantième (30)
- module de remontage automatique (18).
Mouvement mécanique (100) comportant au moins un tel sous-ensemble mécanique.
