Definitions
- the invention relates to a cartridge for at least two flowable components according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Cartridges for at least two flowable components with a filling end and an outlet end have already been marketed by the applicant for some time, wherein a component outlet is arranged at the outlet end.
- These cartridges have a first supply chamber for a first component having a first inner wall extending between the filling end and the discharge end and a first filling opening arranged at the filling end, and a second storage chamber for a second component having a filling element between the filling end and the discharge end second inner wall and a second filling opening arranged at the filling end.
- the first and the second storage chamber are connected to each other by means of a connecting web.
- the first filling opening and the first inner wall are designed such that a first piston can be inserted into the first storage chamber in such a way that it seals off the first storage chamber.
- the second filling opening and the second inner wall are designed so that a second piston can be inserted into the second storage chamber so that it seals the second storage chamber.
- the first and second inner wall have in the region of the first and second filling opening in each case a completely encircling bead, by means of which the first and second pistons are captively preserved after insertion into the first and second storage chamber. The beads thus prevent the pistons from slipping out of the storage chambers via the filling openings after insertion.
- cartridges are manufactured by means of an injection molding process, wherein a necessary for the formation of the storage chambers and the bead core after opening the injection mold without the use of slides or ejector pins pulled out through the filling openings or the cartridge is withdrawn from the core. So there is a so-called compulsory removal instead, whereby a cost-effective production of the cartridges is possible.
- compulsory removal of the prior art cartridges permanent deformation of the beads can occur, whereby burrs can form, which can lead to damage of the pistons when the pistons are inserted into the reservoir chambers.
- Such damaged pistons can no longer reliably close the storage chambers so that, on the one hand, the components can escape past the pistons via the filling openings and, on the other hand, the components can come into contact with air, which can lead to dehydration or undesirable chemical changes in the components ,
- the first inner wall has a first connecting portion and the second inner wall has a second connecting portion, in which they have no bead, wherein the connecting web between the first and the second portion is arranged.
- the beads are therefore not designed to be completely circumferential in the circumferential direction.
- Said connecting portion without bead of an inner wall is thus arranged with respect to a discharge at the same position as the bead of the inner wall.
- the said connection sections are thus also arranged in the region of the filling openings.
- the invention is based on the finding that it is necessary in the above-described forced removal that the cartridge or the storage chambers must be slightly elastically expanded when pulling out the core, in particular in the region of the beads. This is also true problem-free, since the cartridge has sufficient elasticity after injection molding. In the region of the connecting web over which the storage chambers are connected, this expansion may not take place sufficiently, however, since the storage chambers would have to expand in opposite directions, but this is only possible to a very limited extent due to a very small thickness of the connecting web. In the case of completely circumferential beads, it is therefore possible during the forced removal, in particular in the region of the connecting web, to form burrs which can damage the pistons during insertion.
- the formation of these burrs can be effectively prevented, yet the partially encircling beads can continue to fulfill their function of the piston backup.
- the cartridge according to the invention can furthermore be produced by means of an injection molding process with forced removal, thus enabling a cost-effective production of the cartridge.
- the pistons are captively stored in the storage chambers, it should be understood that the piston after insertion and thus after overcoming the beads can only be pushed out of the pantry after overcoming a resistance force.
- the height of the resistance is in particular of the Texture of the bead, but also dependent on the nature of the piston. If the piston is very stiff on its circumference, the resistance force is higher than that of a soft piston.
- the cartridge and the associated pistons are in particular designed so that the resistance is sufficient that the piston is not pushed over the bead at a pressure of about 1 to 2 bar inside the storage chamber.
- the storage chambers have in particular a round cross section and thus a mainly hollow cylindrical basic shape. But it is also possible, for example, that they have a square or rectangular cross-section.
- the cartridge may also have more than two storage chambers, so for example three or four storage chambers.
- each storage chamber has a separate component outlet, so that the cartridge has at least two component outlets.
- a mixer in particular a static mixer, which mixes the components after discharge from the component outlets, can be plugged onto the cartridge.
- the cartridges may consist in particular of polyamide or polybutylene terephthalate, but also for example of polypropylene or polyethylene.
- the cartridges can be designed, for example, for a filling amount of the components up to about 400 ml, in particular up to 200 ml, wherein the two pantries can be the same size or different sizes.
- the pantries then have, for example, a wall thickness of about 1.0 to 2.5 mm.
- the inventive design of the beads is particularly advantageous for small cartridges with a capacity of about 200 ml of less flexible material such as polyamide, since in this constellation burrs may arise during compulsory removal.
- the first and second connecting portion can be the same size or different.
- the percentage of the connecting sections on the entire circumference is greater, especially in the case of storage chambers with small diameters, than in the case of storage chambers with larger diameters. Said choice of the size of the connecting portion offers a good compromise between the manufacturability of the cartridge without burrs and the resistance force that can be applied by the beads.
- the first and second inner wall each have a round cross section with a first and second center.
- the storage chambers thus have a mainly hollow cylindrical basic shape.
- the first and second connecting portions are arranged in a plan view in discharge as seen symmetrically to a connecting line between the first and second center. This can be achieved that the connecting portions kept as small as possible and thus the said resistance is as large as possible.
- the cartridge according to the invention can be used, for example, for medical applications, in particular in the dental field. However, applications are also possible in many other areas where two or more components need to be mixed just prior to use.
- a cartridge 10 has a first storage chamber 11 with a mainly hollow-cylindrical basic shape.
- the first storage chamber 11 has a first filling opening 12, via which a first component can be filled into the first storage chamber 11.
- a first inner wall 13 of the first storage chamber 11 extends to an outlet end 15 of the cartridge 10.
- the first storage chamber 11 has a first component outlet 16, via which the first component from the first storage chamber 11 are discharged can.
- a first, mainly cylindrical piston 17 can be inserted into the first storage chamber 11.
- the first piston 17 is designed so that it closes tightly after insertion, the first storage chamber 11 in the direction of the first filling opening 12.
- the first piston 17 is shown very schematically. In particular, it can have peripheral, soft sealing lips on the circumference.
- an identically designed second storage chamber 21, with a second filling opening 22, a second inner wall 23 and a second component outlet 26 is arranged.
- a second piston 27 can be used analogously to the first piston 17.
- the two storage chambers 11 and 21 are connected to each other by means of a connecting web 30.
- the inner walls 13, 23 each have a partially encircling bead 18, 28.
- the beads 18, 28 serve to ensure that the pistons 17, 27 do not slip over the filling openings 12, 22 again after insertion into the storage chambers 11, 21. Since the beads 18, 28 as in Fig. 2 to see, do not completely orbit, they are in the sectional view in Fig. 1 only in each case on the connecting web 30 opposite side of the inner walls 13, 23 to see.
- the beads 18, 28 are also shown only very schematically and also somewhat overdrawn.
- the beads 18, 28 have an orientation in the discharge direction 9 width between 0.2 and 0.5 mm and an inward, so oriented in the direction of connecting web 30 height between 0.2 and 0.5 mm.
- the cartridge 10 For safe connection with the discharge device, not shown, the cartridge 10 at the filling end 14 on a connecting flange 31.

Abstract
Description

Fig. 2 ebenfalls sehr schematisch dargestellt.
- In
Fig. 4 allerdings nicht dargestellt ist.
