Definitions
- the invention relates to an arrangement for protection against misfiring of plug-in modules on the front and back of a backplane, comprising at least one pair of guide pin bodies with guide pins pointing in opposite directions, which extend along a common longitudinal axis perpendicular to the backplane and engage positively in corresponding guide receptacles of the plug-in modules if these are fitted correctly, and means for non-rotatable mounting of the guide pin body on the front or the back of the backplane in a predetermined angular position.
- Such arrangements are used inter alia in 19 "-conombausystemen and AIR Transition Racks (ATR) and ensure that, for example, electrical plug-in modules can be plugged into slots on the backplane only in the correct orientation.
- ATR Air Traffic Control
- US Pat. No. 6,945,810 B1 describes an arrangement with guide pins, which are formed as a one-piece body. Between the two ends, the Guide pins on a mounting area, which is bounded on one side by a paragraph. The mounting area allows a twist-proof mounting of the guide pin on the backplane. For this purpose, the guide pin is positively inserted into a through hole in the backplane. While the heel comes to rest on one side of the backplane, a nut is screwed onto the guide pin on the opposite side of the backplane to secure the guide pin to the backplane. Both ends of the guide pin have Kodier vom, which engage in corresponding receptacles on the plug-in modules or plug-in modules. The position of the Kodier vom relative to each other is not changeable, which is a limitation.
- EP 1 753 281 B1 describes a multi-part guide pin comprising a first and a second guide pin body, which are inserted from opposite sides into a hole in a backplane.
- the first guide pin body has a through bore through which a fastener engages a threaded bore in the second guide pin body and thus fixes the two guide pin bodies to the backplane.
- the guide pin bodies each have a rib which engages in a radial recess in the bore of the backplane. Both ribs can engage either in a common radial recess or in two separate recesses.
- Both guide pin bodies each have a coding surface, which engage in corresponding receptacles of the plug-in modules when they are plugged onto the guide pin body. If the ribs engage in a single recess in the bore of the backplane, the coding surfaces are aligned parallel to one another. If the ribs are arranged in radially differently oriented recesses, the coding surfaces are rotated relative to each other.
- the production of such a guide pin assembly, in particular the guide pin body is complicated, the assembly cumbersome.
- the two guide pin bodies are identical.
- the manufacturing process is simplified and the required production time is reduced.
- the assembly is simplified because the parts can not be confused.
- a central connecting part is arranged, which is used against rotation in a mounting hole of the backplane.
- the connecting part engages positively in the mounting hole.
- the connecting part has two mold sections, which point in the opposite direction and engage positively in correspondingly formed recesses of the guide pin body, whereby the angular position of the guide pins is fixed about the longitudinal axis relative to the backplane. Engage the mold sections in the recesses of the guide pin body, a rotation of the guide pin body relative to the connecting part is no longer possible.
- the angular positions of the guide pins relative to the backplane are determined by the configuration of the mold sections.
- the mold sections may each have mold surfaces arranged at different angles about the longitudinal axis relative to the backplane. This results in different angular positions of the guide pins about the longitudinal axis relative to the backplane. But it is also possible to arrange the mold surfaces parallel to each other, so that the guide pin body forcibly have identical angular positions relative to the backplane.
- the connecting part is cylindrical and arranged coaxially with the longitudinal axis of the guide pin body.
- the recesses in the guide pin bodies are formed in the direction of the longitudinal axis.
- the guide pin body can be plugged along the longitudinal axis of the connecting part.
- the connecting part has a radially outwardly pointing nose.
- the connecting part is preferably arranged in a mounting hole in the backplane, wherein the nose engages in a radial recess in this mounting hole.
- a rotationally secure arrangement of the connecting part is ensured on the backplane.
- the guide pin body has central through-holes and the connecting part aligned threaded bores and threaded rods are provided which engage through the through holes in the threaded holes. Then, the assembly is carried out by the guide pin bodies are attached along the longitudinal axis of the connecting part, so that the mold sections of the connecting part engage in recesses of the guide pin body. In each case a threaded rod is inserted into the through hole of a guide pin body and then screwed into the threaded hole of the connecting part. Thus, a rotationally secure connection between the guide pin body and connecting part is produced.
- the guide pins advantageously have lateral coding surfaces in order to ensure a predefined orientation of the plug-in modules relative to the guide pins.
- receptacles are arranged on the plug-in modules, which are formed corresponding to the guide pins with their Kodier vom.
- the modules can therefore be pushed onto the guide pins only in a predefined position. If, for example, several guide pin bodies are arranged in pairs on the same side on a backplane, and the plug-in modules have correspondingly arranged receptacles On, a mishandling of the plug-in modules is securely prevented on slots on the backplane.
- the guide pin bodies are arranged in identical angular positions in the direction of rotation about the longitudinal axis, so that the Kodier vom are aligned parallel to each other.
- the ANSI / VITA 46.0 standard for VPX backplanes requires a coding system in which two plug-in modules plugged into the slots on the backplane from two opposite sides are coded the same. This means that the coding surfaces on the guide pins must always be aligned parallel to one another or positioned at the same angle with respect to the backplane.
- a cross-sectionally L-shaped spacer is provided, the first leg of the L extends parallel to a guide pin and the second leg L has a recess into which engages the guide pin body. If you accidentally attempt to place a built-in module on the guide pin body in reverse order, it will abut the free end of the vertical L leg before it reaches a slot on the backplane. As a result, both mechanical as well as caused by short circuits damage the plug contacts are avoided on the modules and the built-in modules themselves. The backplane is also protected from damage.
- the L-shaped spacer protrudes directly next to the associated guide pin body. This results in a space-saving arrangement. Additional mounting holes, such as those proposed by the ANSI / VITA 46.0 standard for the attachment of spacers, which mean additional weakening of the backplane, are avoided.
- the guide pin body engages positively in the recess of the associated spacer, so that the spacer is arranged against rotation relative to the guide pin body.
- the spacers can not rotate relative to the guide pin bodies, and a permanent protection of the contacts on the built-in modules is guaranteed.
- the recess of the spacer is designed as mecanicachtkant, which is plugged onto an intuitionachtkant on the guide pin body. But there are also other contours of spacer and guide pin body conceivable.
- the arrangement according to the invention comprises a number of guide pin bodies, which are arranged at a distance from each other on the same side of the backplane, and a number of spacers, wherein at least two spacers by a stiffening rail, which extends perpendicular to the plane of the backplane, are connected.
- a stiffening rail which extends perpendicular to the plane of the backplane.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the arrangement according to the invention is characterized by a mounting bracket which is arranged between two spaced-apart spacers and connects a guide pin body with the stiffening rail.
- An additional mounting bracket, the backplane can be stiffened over long lengths. This is advantageous, for example, when plug-in modules two spaced-apart connector and in between a receptacle for a Have guide pin body. The insertion forces in such plug-in modules with multiple connectors are much larger than plug-in modules with only one connector, which is why an additional stiffening is necessary.
- FIG. 1 shows a backplane 1, at the front 2 and 3 back each have a plurality of slots 4 are arranged for electronic plug-in modules or plug-in modules. Above and below each slot 4 is in each case a guide pin body 5 with a guide pin 6.
- the guide pins 6 have lateral coding surfaces 7 and a tapered end 8.
- Each guide pin body 5 located on the front side 2 of the backplane 1 is assigned a further identical guide pin body 5 on the rear side 4 of the backplane 1. Both guide pin body 5 are fastened together on the backplane 1.
- the guide pins 6 of the mating pair of guide pin bodies 5 face in opposite directions and extend coaxially along a common longitudinal axis 9 which perpendicular to the backplane 1 runs.
- the pairwise coaxially arranged guide pins prevent misfiring of the plug-in modules (not shown).
- one or more guide pin bodies 5 each have a cross-sectionally L-shaped spacer 10 can be attached to one or more.
- the spacer 10 has a first L-leg 11 which extends parallel to the guide pins 6.
- a second leg 12 of the spacer 10 extends transversely to the longitudinal axis 9 and comes to the backplane 1 to the plant.
- FIG. 2 have the optional spacers 10 on its second leg 11 has a recess in the form of an inner nightstand 13.
- the spacers 10 are fitted with their réelleachtkant 13 on a trained asfeldachtkant 14 recording on the guide pin bodies 5 positively and thus arranged relative to the guide pin bodies 5 against rotation.
- the connecting part 15 is cylindrical and arranged coaxially with the longitudinal axis 9 of the guide pin body 5. It has two mold sections 16, which point in opposite directions and engage positively in correspondingly formed recesses 17 of the guide pin bodies 5.
- the mold sections 16 each comprise a molding surface 18, which according to FIG. 2 are arranged parallel to each other. Because of this parallel arrangement of the molding surfaces 18 and the guide pin body 5 are arranged in identical angular positions in the direction of rotation about the longitudinal axis 9 relative to the backplane 1. As a result, the coding surfaces 7 are forcibly aligned parallel to each other.
- the molding surfaces 18 may be arranged rotated against each other. In this case, the coding surfaces 7 would be aligned in different angular positions.
- the connecting part 15 further has a radially outwardly pointing nose 19, which engages in a recess 20 of a mounting hole 21 in the backplane 1.
- the connecting part 15 threaded holes 22.
- the connecting part 15 is inserted with its nose 19 in the mounting hole 21 of the backplane 1, so that the nose 19 in the recess 20 (FIG. FIG. 2 ) of the mounting hole 21 engages. As a result, the connecting part 15 is connected against rotation with the backplane 1.
- the optional spacers 10 are plugged with their mecanical achtkant 13 on the Basachtkant 14 of the guide pin body 5 and come to a projection 25 which limits the configuredachtkant 14 along the longitudinal axis 9, to the plant.
- the guide pin body 5 are then pushed together with the spacers 10 on the connecting part 15, so that the spacers 10 come to the front 2 and the back 3 of the backplane 1 to the plant.
- the mold sections 16 of the connecting part 15 engage in the recesses 17 of the guide pin body 5 in a form-fitting manner.
- the recesses 17 formed corresponding to the mold sections 16 with their molding surfaces 18 are, attaching the guide pin body 5 only in a fixed position relative to the connecting part 15 is possible.
- the angular positions of the guide pins 6 about the longitudinal axis 9 relative to the backplane 1 are thus fixed.

-
- In
- In
