Definitions
- the present invention relates to an edge profile for facade elements, having at least one longitudinally extending edge termination surface for covering an edge of a facade element and at least one opposite the edge termination surface angled leg surface.
- facade design of buildings usually plate or panel-like facade elements are fastened by means of a substructure on the building wall.
- edge profiles of the type mentioned serve to cover the cut edges of the facade panels and to form a clean finish.
- Edge profiles for facade elements can be made in particular of PVC or aluminum.
- the DE 90 16 148 U1 discloses an edge profile strip with angled legs, each provided with two parallel grooves.
- a corner edge protection for stair nosings which has a base plate fastened to the top of a step as a support surface for a staircase.
- the top of the base plate is profiled to ensure a non-slip resting of the staircase.
- the leg surface has an arrangement of a plurality of alternating elevations and depressions extending parallel to the longitudinal direction, wherein the elevations define a bearing surface for the facade element, which extends over a majority of the leg surface.
- the edge profiles are usually mounted in the vertical direction on an inner corner or an outer corner of the building in question, the elevations and depressions are also vertically aligned with mounted edge profile. Penetrating water can run well in the grooves located behind the back of the façade element so that it does not reach the rear ventilation level or the insulation level. Thus, an undesirable Moisture formation on the facade construction counteracted.
- an additional ventilation zone is created by the corrugation, which offers an advantageous drying effect.
- the leg surface apart from the arrangement of elevations and depressions, has at least one essentially smooth support surface which, together with the elevations, defines the bearing surface.
- a smooth support surface By such a smooth support surface, a higher rigidity of the edge profile can be achieved.
- the smooth support surface acts like a drawstring or stiffening band.
- the invention provides that at least one longitudinally extending rib is provided on the support surface for a sealing engagement with the facade element.
- the support surface may extend over at least about 40%, preferably at least about 50% and more preferably at least about 60% of the leg surface. Should it require the application, it is in principle also possible that the support surface extends over more than about 60% of the leg surface, preferably over more than about 70% or even about 80% of the leg surface. Such a dimensioning of the corrugated or corrugated area ensures a sufficiently stable support for the facade element without the risk of Aufschüsselung.
- the arrangement of elevations and depressions may in particular extend to a surrounding area of the edge termination area. This allows a particularly effective reduction of moisture.
- the elevations may have a trapezoidal, a triangular or a round cross-section.
- the preferred cross-sectional shape depends on the specifications of the particular application. Trapezoidal elevations have the advantage that overall a relatively large contact surface is available for the facade element. Triangles of triangular cross-section in turn provide a particularly large zone for water drainage.
- an edge profile with triangular elevations on the leg surface can to a certain extent engage in the material of the facade element and thus increase the stability of the overall construction.
- the elevations and / or the depressions preferably have a uniform cross-sectional shape. However, it is also possible that elevations or depressions having a different cross-sectional shape are combined with one another at an edge profile.
- the elevations can protrude by at most approximately 2 mm, preferably by at most approximately 1 mm, in relation to the depressions. This ensures sufficient stability. In general, it must additionally be ensured that the elevations protrude by a certain minimum amount of approximately 0.1 mm in relation to the depressions in order to allow a reliable drainage and / or evaporation of penetrated water.
- the arrangement of elevations and depressions may extend over at least one attachment portion of the leg surface, which is provided for attaching the facade element to the leg surface.
- the facade element is thus pressed in the region of the mounting portion directly against the support surface, so that no unwanted tension can occur.
- both leg surfaces have an array of elevations and depressions.
- edge profiles can be used in the outer corners or inner corners of building walls between two facade elements.
- the rib may be at most about 0.5 mm, and preferably at most about 0.25 mm high. The fact that the rib is made relatively low, an undesirable bending of the facade element is avoided.
- the support surface is at a side facing away from the edge termination surface edge region of Leg surface arranged. This has proven to be favorable in terms of stability and sealing effect.
- an edge profile 11a according to a first embodiment of the invention is shown. It is preferably made of PVC and is composed of a central profile strand 14 with a substantially square cross-section and two of the profile strand 14 projecting, flat legs 17 together. At the profile strand 14 two mutually perpendicular edge termination surfaces 15 are formed, wherein the profile strand 14 facing guide surfaces 19 of the legs 17 angled relative to the edge termination surfaces 15 by 90 ° are. Furthermore, from the side facing away from the legs 17 of the edge termination surfaces 15 are respective narrow border strips 20, which form a so-called cut edge coverage.
- edge profile 11a extends along a longitudinal direction L, so that it can be mounted on the outer corner of a building wall and the cut edges of two plate-shaped facade panels 13 covered. As in particular from Fig. 2 shows, the two facade panels 13 are inserted in the assembled state between the edging strip 20 and the legs 17.
- the guide surfaces 19 of both legs 17 have an arrangement of a plurality of mutually alternating and parallel to the longitudinal direction L extending elevations 21 and recesses 23 through which a corrugated area is formed.
- This corrugated region defines a support surface 25 for the associated facade element 13, which extends from an edge region 30 of the guide surface 19 facing away from the edge termination surface 15 directly to the edge termination surface 15.
- the edge region 30 itself is designed as a smooth support surface 27, from which two ribs 29 extending in the longitudinal direction L protrude.
- the defined by the elevations 21 bearing surface 25 extends at the in Fig. 1 to 3 illustrated embodiment over about 66% of the guide surface 19 of a leg 17th
- the facade panels 13 lie with their respective inner flat sides on the support surface 25 of the legs 17 and are thereby supported without bending.
- sealing is achieved by the ribs 29 extending in the longitudinal direction L, ie water is prevented from penetrating into the region between the legs 17 and the facade panels 13. Any still penetrating water or newly formed condensation can also on the run down vertical recesses 23 before it enters the rear ventilation level and / or the insulation level of the facade construction.
- an additional ventilation zone is formed by the groove-shaped cavities between the facade panel 13 and leg 17. Overall, such an undesirable formation of moisture is counteracted, at the same time bracing or Aufschdorfln the facade panels 13 is avoided.
- edge profile 11b not belonging to the invention. Identical or equivalent components are hereby denoted by the same reference numerals as in the embodiment according to FIG Fig. 1 to 3 ,
- the edge profile 11b according to the second embodiment is also designed for insertion into an outer corner of a building wall.
- the outer edging strips 20 are omitted, ie the edge profile 11b is designed without Thomaskantenüberdeckung.
- the ribs 29 are omitted on the smooth support surface 27 of the edge portion 30, so that the surface area of the support surface 25 for the facade panel 13 is comparatively large.
- the elongated profile strand 34 consists only of two angled strips of material, ie in cross-section, the edge profile 11c is X-shaped.
- the corrugated area which is formed by the elevations 21 and the recesses 23, extends over the entire guide surfaces 19 of the legs 17, ie there is no smooth support surface at the edge region 30 of the legs 17 in this embodiment. The moisture-proofing effect increased by dispensing with the smooth support surface 27.
- edge profile 11d shows another not belonging to the invention edge profile 11d.
- the edge profile 11d is designed similar to the edge profile 11c according to FIG 6 and 7 , in contrast to this, however, designed for use on internal corners of building walls.
- the edge region 30 of the guide surfaces 19 has a smooth support surface 27 without ribs.
- 25 unrecognizable passages are provided in the region of the support surface, which serve the attachment of the facade panels 13 on the respective edge profile lla-lld.
- the bearing surface formed by the projections 21 25 is already present in the immediate vicinity of the corresponding implementation.
- Support surfaces 27 may be provided with ribs 29.

Description
The present invention relates to an edge profile for facade elements, having at least one longitudinally extending edge termination surface for covering an edge of a facade element and at least one opposite the edge termination surface angled leg surface.
In the facade design of buildings usually plate or panel-like facade elements are fastened by means of a substructure on the building wall. In the field, a distinction is made here between merely suspended and both curtain and ventilated facades. In both façade variants, edge profiles of the type mentioned serve to cover the cut edges of the facade panels and to form a clean finish. In the assembled state is a facade element with a flat side on the leg surface of the edge profile and is preferably attached to this. Edge profiles for facade elements can be made in particular of PVC or aluminum.
Common edge profiles for facade elements have a smooth leg surface, which rests in the assembled state over the entire surface of the flat side of the relevant facade element. There is the problem that from the outside in the contact area between leg surface and facade element penetrating water or condensation arising in this area leads to an undesirable accumulation of moisture.
It is an object of the invention to counteract the formation of moisture by means of facade elements and edge profiles of moisture formation.
The object is achieved by an edge profile with the features of claim 1.
In an edge profile according to the invention, the leg surface has an arrangement of a plurality of alternating elevations and depressions extending parallel to the longitudinal direction, wherein the elevations define a bearing surface for the facade element, which extends over a majority of the leg surface. In other words, a considerable part of the leg surface is not smooth, but serrated or wavy in the longitudinal direction. Since the edge profiles are usually mounted in the vertical direction on an inner corner or an outer corner of the building in question, the elevations and depressions are also vertically aligned with mounted edge profile. Penetrating water can run well in the grooves located behind the back of the façade element so that it does not reach the rear ventilation level or the insulation level. Thus, an undesirable Moisture formation on the facade construction counteracted. Furthermore, an additional ventilation zone is created by the corrugation, which offers an advantageous drying effect.
At the same time there is a good support for the facade element over a large part of the leg surface, since the elevations - more precisely their high points or high surfaces - define a uniform bearing surface. In the case of facade panels, the support surface is flat. Unfavorable bending moments are thus avoided, so that it can not come to a so-called Aufschüsseln or even breaking the facade element.
According to the invention, the leg surface, apart from the arrangement of elevations and depressions, has at least one essentially smooth support surface which, together with the elevations, defines the bearing surface. By such a smooth support surface, a higher rigidity of the edge profile can be achieved. Specifically, the smooth support surface acts like a drawstring or stiffening band.
Furthermore, the invention provides that at least one longitudinally extending rib is provided on the support surface for a sealing engagement with the facade element. By means of such a rib or arrangement of ribs, an additional seal can be achieved and thus the penetration of water into the region between the edge profile and the facade element can be reduced.
Further developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims, the description and the accompanying drawings.
The support surface may extend over at least about 40%, preferably at least about 50% and more preferably at least about 60% of the leg surface.
The arrangement of elevations and depressions may in particular extend to a surrounding area of the edge termination area. This allows a particularly effective reduction of moisture.
The elevations may have a trapezoidal, a triangular or a round cross-section. In general, the preferred cross-sectional shape depends on the specifications of the particular application. Trapezoidal elevations have the advantage that overall a relatively large contact surface is available for the facade element. Triangles of triangular cross-section in turn provide a particularly large zone for water drainage. In addition, an edge profile with triangular elevations on the leg surface can to a certain extent engage in the material of the facade element and thus increase the stability of the overall construction. The elevations and / or the depressions preferably have a uniform cross-sectional shape. However, it is also possible that elevations or depressions having a different cross-sectional shape are combined with one another at an edge profile.
The elevations can protrude by at most approximately 2 mm, preferably by at most approximately 1 mm, in relation to the depressions. This ensures sufficient stability. In general, it must additionally be ensured that the elevations protrude by a certain minimum amount of approximately 0.1 mm in relation to the depressions in order to allow a reliable drainage and / or evaporation of penetrated water.
Furthermore, the arrangement of elevations and depressions may extend over at least one attachment portion of the leg surface, which is provided for attaching the facade element to the leg surface. During assembly, the facade element is thus pressed in the region of the mounting portion directly against the support surface, so that no unwanted tension can occur.
According to one embodiment of the invention, two, in particular at right angles aligned, edge termination surfaces and respective, with respect to these angled, leg surfaces are provided, both leg surfaces have an array of elevations and depressions. Such edge profiles can be used in the outer corners or inner corners of building walls between two facade elements.
The rib may be at most about 0.5 mm, and preferably at most about 0.25 mm high. The fact that the rib is made relatively low, an undesirable bending of the facade element is avoided.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the support surface is at a side facing away from the edge termination surface edge region of Leg surface arranged. This has proven to be favorable in terms of stability and sealing effect.

Claims (9)
- An edge section (11a-11d) for facade elements (13),
comprising at least one edge termination surface (15) extending in a longitudinal direction (L) for covering an edge of a facade element (13); and at least one limb surface (19) angled with respect to the edge termination surface (15), wherein
the limb surface (19) has an arrangement of a plurality of elevated portions (21) and recesses (23) which alternate with one another and which extend in parallel with the longitudinal direction (L); and wherein the elevated portions (21) define a support surface (25) for the facade element (13), said support surface (25) extending over a large part of the limb surface (19),
characterized in that,
remote from the arrangement of elevated portions (21) and recesses (23), the limb surface (19) has at least one substantially smooth supporting surface (27) which together with the elevated portions (23) defines the support surface (25), with at least one rib (29) extending in the longitudinal direction (L) being provided at the supporting surface (27) for a sealing engagement with the facade element (13). - An edge section in accordance with claim 1,
characterized in that
the support surface (25) extends over at least approximately 40%, preferably over at least approximately 50%, and particularly preferably over at least approximately 60%, of the limb surface (19). - An edge section in accordance with claim 1 or claim 2,
characterized in that
the arrangement of elevated portions (21) and recesses (23) extends up to a surrounding region of the edge termination surface (15). - An edge section in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that
the elevated portions (21) have a trapezoidal cross-section, a triangular cross-section or a round cross-section. - An edge section in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that
the elevated portions (21) can project by at most approximately 2 mm, preferably by at most approximately 1 mm, with respect to the recesses (23). - An edge section in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that
the arrangement of elevated portions (21) and recesses (23) extends over at least one fastening portion of the limb surface (19) which is provided for the attachment of the facade element (13) to the limb surface (19). - An edge section in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that
two edge termination surfaces (15) which are in particular aligned at right angles to one another are provided and respective limb surfaces (19) which are angled with respect to said edge termination surfaces (15) are provided, with both limb surfaces (19) having an arrangement of elevated portions (21) and recesses (23). - An edge section in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that
the rib (29) has a height of at most approximately 0.5 mm and preferably of at most approximately 0.25 mm. - An edge section in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that
the supporting surface (27) is arranged at a marginal region (30) of the limb surface (19) remote from the edge termination surface (15).
