Description

The invention relates to data pages for book-type documents, each with at least one comparatively rigid and intended for receiving data layer and a band-shaped tab which is fixedly connected to a first area with the at least one layer and a second area for integrating the data page in the book-like Document has, with a plurality of spaced-apart security features that each extend at least partially over the tab.

Such data pages are needed in particular for the production of passports. They are also called datapages and are usually personalized in a passport with a photograph and data of the passport holder. The personalized layer consists, for example, of one or two laminated films of a rigid thermoplastic material, in particular polycarbonate. However, such a layer can hardly be integrated directly due to its rigidity. So that the binding is possible, a binding pocket made of a flexible and easily approachable material is added to the layer, as shown in the EP-B-1 502 765 disclosed by the applicant. The connection of the tab to said layer results in a strong bond between this layer and the tab.

The said connection between said layer and the tab must now meet very high demands with regard to the desired document security. A passport forger could now set itself the goal of extracting such a data page from the passport or the document and using it in another document. As an attack point come for such a manipulation, the Einnähstelle the tab in the passbook or the junction between the personalized data page and the tab in question. In principle, the tab and the said customizable layer are connected as intimately as possible in order to prevent detachment. However, there still remains the problem that the tab could be separated directly at the edge of said layer and then another data page could be mounted at this transition location.

What is essential now is that such manipulations can not only be visualized with laboratory tests, but also become obvious and visible at a glance during routine checks. To make this possible, in the prior art by the EP-A-1 780 043 a data page has become known, in which the passport no. both on the visa pages by perforation as well as on the data side, for example by laser marking is applied. On the basis of this marking, it should be possible to check the integrity of data pages and the other pages of the passport booklet. For this, the corresponding number would have to be checked for your match.

By the DE-B-10 2009 010 800 For example, a data page has become known in which security features are printed on the data page, which extend coherently over at least a portion of the data area, the seam area and the tab area. Said cutting along the transition point between said layer and the tab and an exchange of the data pages would also be possible in principle, without this obviously being recognized.

The stated object is achieved with generic data pages in that the security features in the tab extend at least partially from the first area into the second area and are at least partially different from data page to data page. In particular, it is provided that the distances between security features are different.

If a counterfeiter tries to remove the personalized layer from the data sheet by cutting the tab on the tab attachment and replacing it with a data page from another passport, such a manipulation of the security features is immediately and clearly recognizable. Since the security features are different from document to document and in particular at irregular intervals on the tab, these security elements no longer match without offset between the two areas of the tab after a said manipulation. Such an offset is now visually very fast and easy to recognize. The security features are therefore control elements that make a said manipulation visually recognizable.

According to a development of the invention, it is provided that in each case more than two security features are provided. Preferably, a plurality of such security features, in particular more than five, and more preferably more than ten such features are provided. These are preferably distributed substantially over the entire length of the tab. This makes it readily possible to produce a large number of data pages, all of which differ in the arrangement of these security features.

According to a development of the invention, it is provided that the security features are cuts or embossments in the flap or imprints on the flap. Such cuts and embossing or imprints can be produced very inexpensively and reliably with suitable cutting or embossing devices. A particularly suitable imprint is made for example with an inkjet printing press. However, the security features can also be produced for example by threads which are woven, for example, into the flap and / or glued. The threads may be special threads, for example metal threads or threads of a special plastic. According to a development of the invention is provided that the security elements in each case pass substantially continuously from the first region of the tab into the second region of the tab. An offset after a manipulation is then particularly clearly recognizable.

The security features of a data page may be different, for example, the one security features may be formed by a cut or imprint and other security features by a print. Also conceivable is an embodiment in which the features have different colors. These colors can then be varied so that the data pages are different. The security against counterfeiting is thus further increased.

According to a development of the invention, it is provided that the at least one layer has an imprint, for example an offset print in the area of the security features. This printed layer is placed over the tab with the controls. The imprint is designed to visually recognize the security features in the area of the first area of the tab. This is made possible according to an embodiment of the invention in that the security elements are designed so that they result in a change in volume of the tab and that this change in volume is visible on the imprint. The change in volume of the tab can be caused for example by cuts, embossing or by a special thread. There are also other means conceivable which change the thickness of the tab. The corresponding imprints in the print can be realized, for example, by lamination or by means of a welding process, since in such an operation the thermoplastic material of the layer is softened and flows more in the area of the volume-changed security features than elsewhere. In this way results in these security features a changed ink layer thickness or pigment concentration, which is optically visible as a label in the printing element on the data page.

Said imprint is strip-shaped according to an embodiment of the invention. It preferably runs parallel and congruent to the first area of the tab. Preferably, the imprint extends substantially over the entire length of the tab.

Schicht aufgebracht.According to a development of the invention, the imprint is applied to an opaque film or layer.

Preferably, the material of the tab is chosen so that it is not or only slightly softened during a lamination, so that the security features of the tab are retained.

The tabs can for example be made of a fabric. The connection between the tab and the layer can be made in a conventional manner by lamination. In particular, it is provided that the tab is laminated between two layers. The tab may extend partially or completely between these two layers. It is also conceivable embodiment in which the tab is connected to said layer by gluing or by mechanical means.

According to a development of the invention, it is provided that the security features include graphic element and / or writing elements and in particular a micro-font. As a result, the security against counterfeiting can be further increased.

According to a development of the invention, it is provided that the security features are at least partially visible through a transparent window-like region of the at least one layer. The window-like area extends into the first area of the tab. Through this window then an offset during a manipulation is particularly easy and secure recognizable.

The invention also relates to a method for producing data pages according to one of the claims. According to a development of the method according to the invention, it is provided that the security features are applied by means of a rotary punching, rotary embossing or by means of an endless printing, for example offset printing or flexographic printing. This allows a particularly cost-effective and secure production of the inventive data pages.

That in the Fig. 1 shown document 1 is a passbook, which has a data page 2 and visa pages 20 in a conventional manner between a cover 9. With regard to the basic structure of such a document 1 and the data page 2 is on the EP-B-1 502 765 directed. The data page 2 has a layer 17 of relatively stiff material, such as polycarbonate. This layer 17, which may consist of laminated films, for example, is personalized with respect to the passport holder or owner of the document 1. For this purpose, the layer 17 is for example according to Fig. 2 provided with data 18 of the passport holder and a photograph 19.

The data page 2 has a tab 3, which is made of flexible material and thus substantially less stiff than the layer 17. At this tab 3, the data page 2 is integrated into the document 1. The integration takes place here, for example, by means of a seam along a sewing site 6. The flap 3 is firmly connected to the layer 17. The compound is particularly flat and is done for example by lamination, welding or by means of a suitable adhesive. As can be seen, the tab 3 extends substantially over the entire length of one side of the layer 17. As can be seen, the tab 3 is connected in a planar manner to the layer 17 along a first tab region 7. A second tab region 8 protrudes from the layer 17 and serves to bind the tab 3 along the sewing site 6 into the document 1. The sewing point 6 runs parallel and at a distance from a tab attachment 5, which forms the transition between the two regions 7 and 8 and runs along an edge 21 of the layer 17.

In a manipulation attempt, the second tab region 8 could basically be cut off along the tab attachment 5 or along the edge 21, as shown in FIG Fig. 2 is indicated. A personalized layer 17 could thereby be used in another document. In order for such manipulation to be apparent, tab 3 is provided with security features 4. These are arranged as shown at irregular intervals and extend at least partially from the first tab portion 7 in the second tab portion 8. In the Fig. 3 For example, here distances A and B are shown, which are different as shown. Preferably, a plurality of such security features 4 is provided. Preferably, more than two, preferably more than five and more preferably more than ten such security features 4 are provided. As can be seen, they are essentially distributed over the entire length of the tab 3.

The security elements 4 are, for example, cuts in the tab 3, embossing in the tab 3 or imprints on one or both sides of the tab 3. Such imprints can be applied for example by means of an inkjet printing device. Preferably, the security features 4 are designed so that they change the thickness or the volume of the tab 3 at the appropriate location.

The security elements 4 may be substantially straight and line-shaped, as shown in the Fig. 2 and 3 is shown. The security elements 4 then extend essentially at right angles to the lug extension 5. As explained below, the security elements 4 can also run differently, for example obliquely or arcuately.

The distances mentioned, for example the distances A and B, are now changed in the production of the data pages so that finally each data page 2 has a different arrangement of the security elements 4.

The Fig. 4 1 shows a data page 2a 'in which the personalized layer 17 has been inserted into a document 1 by connecting a first tab region 7' to the second tab region 8 of the document 1. Such a connection can be made so that it would hardly be visually visible. Since now the tab areas 7 'and 8 come from different tabs 3, accordingly, the security features 4 are arranged differently. For example, the distances A and B of the region 8 are opposite to the distances A 'and B' of the region 7 '. The corresponding offset in the security features 4 is visually immediately recognizable. This means that during a check it can be easily recognized that the personalized layer 17 does not belong to the corresponding document 1 or to the corresponding passport booklet. The manipulation is thus immediately recognizable and without aids.

The Fig. 5 shows a variant of an inventive data page 2a, which was basically prepared as the above-mentioned data page 2. By contrast, in this data page 2a, a tab 3a extends substantially further into a layer 17a. The tab 3a thus has a first region 7a, which is substantially longer than a second region 8a. In addition, it is provided in the data page 2a, that security elements 4a are provided, which are curved or arc-shaped and a lug shoulder 8a and 6a Einnähstelle do not cross at right angles. The distances between the security features 4a are also variable from document to document, as explained above.

In the Fig. 6 shown data page 2b is provided with security elements 4b, which are formed by a micro-font. This microprint can be printed, embossed or otherwise applied. As can be seen, it extends essentially at right angles to a tab attachment 5b. However, an embodiment in which the security elements 4b extend at an angle to the tab attachment 5 is also conceivable here. In addition, the security elements 4b may also be curved or arched. Instead of writing, however, graphic elements and the like can also be provided here.

The Fig. 7 shows a data page 2c, which has a tab 3c, which is provided with security elements 4c, which are formed as explained above. In addition, however, other types of security elements in the form of threads 22 are provided here. These threads 22 are special threads, such as threads made of metal or a special plastic. The threads 22 are woven or glued, for example, in the tab 3c. The threads 22 are also arranged at different distances. As shown, they run obliquely to a lug extension 15 and an insertion point 6c. In principle, however, the threads 22 could also run at right angles to the tab attachment 15 and to the sewing location 6c. They can also have different colors or other easily controllable properties.

The Fig. 8 shows a possible structure of a layer 17c. This consists of a transparent film 12, an opaque film 11 and a transparent film 13. A tab 3c is laminated between these films 11, 12 and 13. Through the transparent film 13, the tab 3c is visible. This does not apply to the other side which has the opaque film 11. In principle, however, the opaque film 11 could be replaced by a transparent film. Since the film 13 is transparent, the security features 4 or 4a, 4b and 4c, which are not shown here, are correspondingly visually recognizable in the region of the layer 17c. To illustrate these security features 4, a pressure element 10 is applied to the transparent film 13. The pressure element 10 can according to Fig. 10 be formed strip-shaped and be applied for example by offset printing or flexo printing. During lamination, the pressure element 10 is influenced due to the security elements 4, so that these security elements 4 are correspondingly visually recognizable, for example, in line form in the pressure element 10. In the Fig. 10 the corresponding features 24 of the printed image 10 are indicated. These features 24 arise in particular when the security features 4 in the tab 3 cause a change in volume. Such changes in volume, for example incisions or elevations of the tab 3, correspondingly cause a change in the pressure. For example, such a change causes an increase in color intensity or a partial tearing of the color. Such a change can be achieved even if according to Fig. 9 a layer 17d is provided which has two transparent films 15 and opaque films 16. In the area of the layer 17d, the features 4 are then only apparent in the region of the printed circuit element 10.

The Fig. 11 shows a data page 2f, in which a layer 17f is provided, which is transparent in the region of a window 14 at least on one side. This window 14 extends into a first area 7f of a tab 3f. Security elements 4f are thus visible in the first area 7f through the transparent window 14. As can be seen, the window 14 extends along a tab attachment 5f and an insertion point 6f. Through the window 14 are substantially all security features 4f recognizable. The window 14 is strip-shaped, but may also have a different shape. For example, several windows are conceivable.
