Claims (14)

  1. A tilting circular saw, in particular for cutting to length of fire wood, comprising at least one stationary cutting tool preferably in the form of a saw blade (3) rotatable around a horizontal axis which is arranged on a rack (4) and provided with a protective housing (7) associated with the cutting tool, and further comprising a rocker (5) mounted on a rack (4), which is tiltably mounted around an axis parallel to the axis of the cutting tool, such rocker being provided with a receiving channel (12) accessible from the top for receiving cutting material (22), and with a tiltable cover device (20) covering the top access side of the receiving channel (12), characterised in that the rocker (5) is provided with a tiltable hold down device (21) which is engageable with cutting material placed in the receiving channel (12) and actuatable from the outside of the receiving channel (12), and further that the cover device (20) and the hold down device (21) are uncoupled from each other as regards their movement and are moveable relative towards each other in holding down and/or covering direction.
  2. A tilting circular saw in accordance with Claim 1, characterised in that the rocker (5) comprises a frame with two lateral beams (8) which in the region of their bottom ends are mounted on the rack (4) and above thereof are provided with rack side brackets (10) protruding thereof for receiving a profiled section (11) having an approximate V shaped cross section limiting the receiving channel (12) and comprising a reach through slot (13) for the cutting tool, and for receiving the tilting axes (23, 24) of the cover device (20) and hold down device (21).
  3. A tilting circular saw in accordance with any of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the tilting axis (23) associated with the cover device (20) is arranged at a higher point than the tilting axis (24) associated with the hold down device (21).
  4. A tilting circular saw in accordance with any of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the cover device (20) comprises a tilting cover (25) bridging the upper access opening of the receiving channel (12) and being preferably vaulted towards the top, extending transverse to its tilting axis and associated with the hold down device (21), provided with a grip (28) arranged opposite the tilting axis, such tilting cover (25) comprising enforcing ribs (26) extending transverse to the tilting axis and protruding above the rack side

  5. A tilting circular saw in accordance with any of the preceding Claims, characterised in that relief springs (36, 37) are associated with the cover device (20) and the hold down device (21) serving to support their upward tilting movements, such relief springs (36, 37) being arranged on opposite sides of a bracket (10) and supported thereon with one end each, and with the other end acting on a finger (38) of the tilting shaft of the hold down device (21) and/or on a cantilever arm (38a) of the tilting cover (25).
  8. A tilting circular saw in accordance with any of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the tilting cover (25) of the cover device (21) is provided with a protection hood (49) arranged opposite the protective housing (7) of the rack (4) and associated with a reach through slot for the cutting tool, such protection hood (49) engaging the protective housing (7) when the rocker (5) approaches the rack (4).
  9. A tilting circular saw in accordance with any of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the protective housing (7) is provided with a rocker side open cut out (40) which is engaged by the profile section (11) forming the receiving channel (12) when the rocker (5) approaches the rack (4), and further that in the region of the cut out (40) provision is made for cover elements on the outer and inner side of the protective housing (7) preventing access to the cutting tool at least within its toothed area.
  10. A tilting circular saw in accordance with any of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the rocker (5) is associated with a lock device (44) which in a position where the rocker (5) is tilted away from the rack (4) enables an opening of the cover device (20) while at the same time locking the rocker (5) against movement in cutting direction, and releases the rocker (5) for tilt movement in cutting direction only when the cover device (20) is closed and blocks the cover device (20) against opening in any position where the rocker (5) is tilted away from the rack.
  11. A tilting circular saw in accordance with Claim 10, characterised in that the lock device (44) comprises a rack side fixed stop (46) and a rack side fixed slide rail (45) joining the stop (46) and extending concentrically to the tilting axis of the rocker (5), and further that the tilting cover (25) of the cover device (20) is provided with a counter stop (47), associated with the stop (46), and a sliding shoe (48) associated with the slide rail (45), with the counter stop (47) being designed and arranged in such a manner that it can be brought into engagement with the stop (46) by a movement of the rocker (5) in cutting direction when the tilting cover device (25) is tilted upwards in an end position away from the rack, and is moveable past the stop (46) when the tilting cover (25) is closed, with the sliding shoe (48) being designed and arranged such that it is only disengaged from the slide rail (45) in the end position of the rocker (5) away from the rack, and is in contact with the slide rail (45) when the rocker (5) is away from the end position away from the rocker (5) to block the tilting cover (25) in closed position.
  12. A tilting circular saw in accordance with Claim 11, characterised in that the rocker side end of the slide rail (45) is designed as a stop (46) associated with the cover side counter stop (47).
  13. A tilting circular saw in accordance with Claim 11 or 12, characterised in that the sliding shoe (48) is designed as a claw bridging the slide rail (45).
  14. A tilting circular saw in accordance with any of the Claims 11 - 13, characterised in that the counter stop (47) and the slide shoe (48) are formed integral with a common element.
