Definitions

  • the invention relates to an antenna arrangement for a motor vehicle.
  • antennas In order to use, for example, radio and TV services in motor vehicles, modern motor vehicles usually have at least one, often even many, possibly also different types of antennas. As a rule, in designing the antennas, an attempt is made to achieve the best possible compromise between antenna efficiency, electromagnetic compatibility with regard to intrinsic disturbance in the vehicle and vehicle design. In modern motor vehicles, for example, antennas are often installed in the rear window, in one of the rear side windows or in the spoiler.
  • an antenna arrangement which is completely or partially installed in such a vehicle part, for example, the rear window, comprise a plurality of antennas. It may also include ancillary elements to the antenna (s), such as connectors, amplifiers, chokes, and / or signal processing units (e.g., antenna diversity module). Even components that primarily do not fulfill an antenna function, such as a rear window heater, may be included in the antenna arrangement.
  • heating cables of a rear window heater also fulfill an antenna function in addition to their heating function.
  • it is for example from the WO 2005/060044 A1 known to suppress the heating current transmitted to the heater serving as an antenna board electrical system failures by modules with high-frequency high-impedance behavior (so-called blocking circuits or Sperrnikdrosseln) when the antenna connection point is galvanically connected to the heating field.
  • blocking circuits such as blocking circuits or Sperrnikdrosseln
  • antenna utility currents flow to the supply potential of the voltage supply and / or to the ground potential.
  • US 5,581,263 describes a glass antenna array whose taps and filter elements are arranged so as to give respectively optimum equivalent antenna lengths for AM and FM reception.
  • WO 2005/060044 A1 teaches a vehicle windshield antenna with a decoupling element, which is galvanically decoupled from a serving as an antenna rear window, but is capacitively coupled with this.
  • the object of the invention is to improve the antenna reception of AM antennas used in motor vehicles.
  • the antenna arrangement according to the invention has at least one AM antenna for the reception of at least long, medium and / or shortwave signals and at least one further adjacent to the AM antenna arranged electrically conductive component, which is designed as a further antenna of the motor vehicle.
  • the further component is connected to a ground and / or supply potential of the motor vehicle via at least one filter element. By the filter element signal frequencies are suppressed in at least one of the AM antenna to be received frequency range.
  • the further antenna is designed as a TV antenna, wherein the antenna arrangement comprises an antenna amplifier for the TV antenna, wherein the antenna amplifier is integrated in a housing of the filter element.
  • the invention improves the reception characteristics of the AM antenna in the long, medium and / or shortwave range. Surprisingly, not leading to this technical success filter measures that are directly related to the AM antenna itself, but filter measures that are related to an adjacent component.
  • the characteristic reception characteristics of the AM antenna in the long, medium and / or shortwave range can be selectively changed, e.g. an angle of arrival dependent gain can be achieved.
  • AM antennas included in prior art antenna assemblies have suboptimal properties associated with specific market or customer requirements. For example, it is typically of high importance to the North American market to be able to receive radio in very good sound quality over medium wave. However, this customer expectation can not always be met satisfactorily with the above-mentioned compromise between antenna efficiency, electromagnetic compatibility and vehicle design. This is particularly true in regions of weak transmit signal strength (e.g., in rural areas).
  • the physical nature, in particular the length of the AM antenna installed in the rear, side window or spoiler is then often insufficient for the reception of medium waves. Even unfavorable conditions can complicate the medium-wave reception and reduce its quality. In many cases, the above-mentioned typical installation locations on the motor vehicle even do not exist at all.
  • deficits in the antenna performance may arise in connection with specific market requirements, for example in the case of unusual frequency bands, field strengths or altered transmitter or geographical typology.
  • the invention is particularly suitable for use with AM antennas, the length of which is much smaller than the wavelength of the received signals, since the abovementioned suboptimal properties and / or deficits can occur more frequently in such AM antennas in conventional antenna arrangements.
  • the invention is based on the consideration that the reception properties of the AM antenna can be improved by metallic or otherwise electrically conductive components which are directly and / or electrically low impedance connected to the vehicle electrical mass and which are arranged adjacent to the AM antenna, such be influenced that the vehicle electrical mass for the AM antennas is no longer "visible” as a ground potential.
  • “Visible” is a conductive element in the present context when acting as a parasitic capacitance on the antenna. Such parasitic capacitances attenuate the supply of the antenna signal power to the next stage of the signal chain, which is often designed as an amplifier. The invention prevents such steaming.
  • the vehicle mass of one of the AM antenna adjacent component can be made in a particularly simple manner for the AM antenna "invisible" by the adjacent components - provided this does not impair its function - are made of electrically non-conductive material. Likewise, if this does not affect its function, the adjacent component can be electrically insulated from the vehicle mass.
  • the invention provides for targeted filtering of the adjacent component for the frequency range to be received by the AM antenna.
  • the adjacent vehicle mass becomes selectively invisible to such frequencies.
  • the component can be simultaneously filtered for all higher frequencies. It can then be used as a filter element a low pass.
  • the invention is particularly advantageously applicable to antenna arrangements in which the heating wires of a rear window heater run at least partially in the immediate vicinity of the AM antenna.
  • the improvement of the AM reception effected by the invention is particularly clear in such cases.
  • the invention is advantageously applicable to antenna arrangements in which another antenna, namely a TV (or TV and FM) antenna is arranged as a further component according to the invention at least partially in the immediate vicinity of the AM antenna.
  • another antenna namely a TV (or TV and FM) antenna
  • both antennas may be mounted on the same rear window. Even in such cases, the invention causes a significant improvement in AM reception.
  • the arrangement of the inventively filtered component in a large geometric distance of lying on ground potential parts, lines or other components serve.
  • this can also serve a purposeful low-impedance and low-capacitive design of the other terminals of the filtered component and / or a targeted low-impedance and low-capacitive design of possibly required matching circuits of the component.
  • the further component is designed as a further antenna.
  • this antenna is then connected to the ground and / or supply potential of the Motor vehicle (in addition to the above-mentioned filter element) further connected via at least one additional filter element, are suppressed by which signal frequencies in at least one of the other antenna to be received frequency range.
  • antenna useful currents of the further antenna flow away to the supply potential and / or to the ground potential.
  • the antenna arrangement has at least one further electrically conductive component arranged adjacent to the AM antenna, and the filter element has a bifilar coil with a first and a second partial coil.
  • the further component is connected to the ground and / or supply potential via the first partial coil of the bifilar coil.
  • the further component is connected to the ground and / or supply potential via the second partial coil of the bifilar coil.
  • a bifilar coil is to be understood as a two-wire coil wound in opposite directions. Each winding core represents for itself a full-fledged coil, here called part coil.
  • the further component mentioned in the preceding paragraph can also be designed as an antenna, in particular FM and / or TV antenna. It can be arranged in a rear window of the vehicle together with the AM antenna and the further component, which can also be designed as an antenna, in particular FM and / or TV antenna.
  • the AM antenna, the further component and an optionally present further component of the antenna arrangement are integrated in a rear window of the motor vehicle, it may be advantageous to use the at least one filter element, possibly embodied as a bifilar coil, on the rear shelf or the C To arrange the pillar of the motor vehicle.
  • the invention can be implemented in various variants, some of which have already been discussed and others are still to be discussed with reference to the following exemplary embodiments.
  • selective and gradual measures can be taken to improve the reception quality. This achieves a fine scalability.
  • costs per vehicle are only triggered if the corresponding optional equipment is installed.
  • On simply equipped vehicle can thus be equipped with a simple and inexpensive antenna system with little to be installed parts.
  • Fig. 1a shows an antenna assembly partially integrated into a rear window 1 of a motor vehicle 10.
  • several other antennas are installed in addition to an AM antenna AM.
  • These are a total of three FM antennas FM1, FM2 and FM3, three TV antennas TV1, TV2 and TV3, an antenna FBD for remote control services and an antenna DAB for digital radio reception.
  • Some of the antennas have multiple functions, whereby the taps of the antennas can be used several times and thus reduced in number.
  • the FM antenna FM2 is physically identical to the TV antenna TV2.
  • the FM antenna FM3 is physically identical to the DAB antenna for digital radio.
  • the antennas FM1, FM2, FM3, TV2 and TV 3 act as heating wires of a rear window heater.
  • the antenna areas overlap in a known manner (e.g., FM1 with FM2, FM1 with FM3, and TV2 with TV3). Therefore, no limits of the overlapping antennas are shown in the figures.
  • Each of the antennas is connected via a feed line to a signal processing unit 2, which may for example comprise an antenna diversity module including amplifier.
  • the antennas FM1, FM2, FM3, TV1, DAB, TV2 and TV3, which also act as heating wires of a rear window heater, are connected or connectable to a supply potential 6 via terminals 6a and 6b, respectively, and to a ground potential 5 via connections 5a and 5b , Circling circuits 3 and 4 between the terminals 5a, 5b, 6a, 6b of the antennas and the ground potential 5 or the supply potential 6 suppress any on-board network interference transmitted by the heating current to these antennas and prevent antenna useful currents from flowing to the ground potential 5 or to the supply potential 6.
  • signal frequencies are targeted in typical Frequency ranges of electrical system interference suppressed.
  • either signal frequencies in the frequency range to be received by the respective FM antenna or TV antenna are either suppressed or simplified by means of a low-pass filter.
  • a low-pass filter For example, for FM or TV Band I frequencies, this can be designed to be effectively blocking for frequencies above 30 MHz.
  • Fig. 1b shows a modified embodiment of the antenna arrangement according to Fig. 1a .
  • the blocking circuits 3 and 4 are replaced by filter elements 3 'and 4'.
  • the filter elements fulfill the above-mentioned objects of the trap circuits 3 and 4, i. They suppress on-board network disturbances and suppress signal frequencies in the frequency range to be received by the respective FM antenna or TV antenna. In addition, however, signal frequencies in at least one frequency range to be received by the adjacent AM antenna AM are also suppressed by the filter elements 3 'and 4'.
  • the suppression of the FM / TV frequencies and the suppression of the AM frequencies can be effected by dedicated filtering measures.
  • the filtering of the FM / TV antenna with respect to the AM frequencies enables improved AM reception. It is namely prevented that the adjacent to the AM antenna FM or TV antennas act as parasitic capacitances.
  • the adjacent FM / TV antennas by exclusive suppression of signal frequencies in at least one frequency range to be received by the adjacent AM antenna AM, i. without simultaneous suppression of signal frequencies in the frequency range to be received by the respective FM antenna or TV antenna and / or without filtering typical frequency ranges of onboard power supply interference.
  • Fig. 2 shows a second partly integrated in a rear window antenna arrangement. It corresponds in detail not described in more detail below to the antenna arrangement Fig. 1a ,
  • the bifilar wound coil 7 can optionally even in combination with Capacitors (eg Lo ESR types) already achieve a filtering effect, which additionally benefits the goal of increased reception performance.
  • the bifilar coil 7 can effect a blockage of both AM frequencies and FM / TV frequencies, independently of the effect of the blocking circuits 3 and 4.
  • the ground-side connection of the respective sub-coil of the bifilar coil 7 can then be connected directly to the vehicle ground or led to the blocking circuit 3 or 4 (corresponds to the in Fig. 2 pictured case), but there are only looped through to the vehicle mass.
  • the bifilar coil 7 can be designed such that only in cooperation with the blocking circuit 3 results in the desired filtering effect.
  • the effect of the bifilar coil 7 is then limited to the AM filtering, while the FM / TV filtering is performed in a conventional manner by the blocking circuit 3 or 4.
  • the concentration of the AM filtering on the bifilar coil 7 provided as a dedicated component according to this second variant allows a selective provision of the AM filtering by selective incorporation of the bifilar coil.
  • AM filtering may be provided in a market or area specific manner or at the explicit request of the buyer of an automobile.
  • the modular principle aimed at for cost and efficiency reasons in automotive development is supported by this second variant.
  • such adaptation circuits can be implemented for further antenna taps via the smallest possible series capacitance.
  • the input adaptation of a possible antenna amplifier can be designed specifically so that its series capacity is kept small.
  • the heating cables may pass through a high inductance coil close to or on the disc so that their (parasitic) capacitance to ground at the amplifier input is minimized.
  • Fig. 3 shows a further partially integrated in a rear window according to the invention antenna arrangement. It corresponds in detail not described in more detail below to the antenna arrangement Fig. 1a ,
  • the antenna order according to Fig. 3 includes, however, antenna amplifiers 8 and 9 for the TV antennas TV2 and TV3.
  • the antenna amplifier 8 is integrated into the housing of the blocking circuit 3
  • the antenna amplifier 9 is integrated into the housing of the blocking circuit 4.
  • the integration of the antenna amplifiers in the pincushion housings can be independent of the filtering of the antennas adjacent to the AM array with respect to signal frequencies in the frequency range to be received by the AM antenna, if a pinning circuit is already for filtering the FM antennas with respect to signal frequencies in the FM antenna receiving frequency range or in terms of electrical system interference is provided.
  • an antenna arrangement for a motor vehicle comprising at least one antenna for the reception of signals in a specific frequency range and at least one further electrically conductive component arranged adjacent to the antenna, is also advantageous the further component is connected to a ground and / or supply potential of the motor vehicle via at least one filter element, by means of which signal frequencies in the specific frequency range are selectively or selectively suppressed.
