Claims (14)

  1. Pneumatic hammer device (1) comprising an outer casing (3), an assembly comprising a cylinder (5) and movable piston (7) actuating a hammer element (9), a supply device (11) for supplying the cylinder (5) with compressed air, an air exhaust device (13) and an operation control device (15), wherein the said outer casing (3) is formed from two mating parts (3a) adapted to fit one inside the other to enclose, in addition to the cylinder (5) and piston (7) assembly, the said supply device (11) for the cylinder, the said air exhaust device (13) and operation control device (15), characterised in that at least one channel (11e) of the supply device (11) and/or of the exhaust device (13) is provided in at least one of the casing parts (3a), this channel being formed laterally within the thickness of the casing part (3a) parallel to the cylinder (5).
  2. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to claim 1, characterised in that the said supply (11), exhaust (13) and control (15) devices enclosed are rigidly trapped between the said casing parts (3a), which are fitted together hermetically.
  3. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to one of claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the said casing parts (3a) are adapted in shape to as to accommodate, within their interconnected portion, the said enclosed devices (11, 13, 15), which are thus sandwiched between the two interconnected casing parts (3a).
  4. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the said casing parts (3a) comprise at least one layer of material adapted to insulate the vibration and noise of operation of the assembly comprising the cylinder (5) and piston (7).
  5. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the said casing parts (3a) are formed by moulding from synthetic materials, for example plastics.
  6. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the said casing parts (3a) are adapted to the use of a small, lightweight hammer device for fine hammering or where access is restricted.
  7. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the casing parts (3a) are two half-shells (3a) made of plastics.
  8. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the hermetic fitting together of the casing parts (3a) is ensured by a peripheral bead (19a) belonging to one of the parts that is compressed when clamped in a corresponding groove (19b) in the other part, and optionally on a flexible joint (19c).
  9. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the said casing parts (3a) are formed with at least one operating handle (21) for the hammer device, which incorporates the operation control device (15) (control trigger 15b).
  10. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to claim 9, characterised in that the handle (21) is offset from the axis of the cylinder and is D-shaped, one of its branches, the front branch (21 b), which is distinct from the main rear branch (21 a), protecting the operator's hand.
  11. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to claim 10, characterised in that the front branch (212b) of the handle accommodates at least part (13) of the air exhaust device which discharges out of the cylinder, for example at the outer end of the handle (21), without interfering with the operator's hand.
  12. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to one of claims 10 and 11, characterised in that the main operating branch (21 a) for the handle (21) incorporates a supply pipe connector (11c) at its outer end and a supply valve (11 b) connected to the control device (15).
  13. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the front end part of the casing parts (3a) also accommodates at least one other air exhaust part (13') which discharges towards the hammer element (9), hence without adversely affecting the operating grip on the casing (3).
  14. Pneumatic hammer device (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that internal shaping (28) is provided in the casing parts (3a) to collect any leaks of air from the enclosed devices (11, 13, 15) and direct them to the air exhaust device (13).
