Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a segment band for a drill bit and a drill bit provided with such a segment band.
  • the invention further relates to a method for producing the segment tape and to a method for producing the drill bit.
  • Core bits are generally used to create core holes and have a carrier sleeve serving as a drill sleeve, which is provided at one end with a connector and at the other end with cutting segments.
  • the fitting is for connection to a drill drive, which may be, for example, a portable drill or a fixed drill stand.
  • the arranged on the front side of the support body cutting segments are usually made of a hard metal, are embedded in the diamond particles to have the required for drilling in, for example, concrete, masonry, asphalt or stone hardness.
  • the cutting segments are made by sintering and then distributed along the circumference of the end face of the carrier body and fixed by soldering.
  • Such a drill bit is from the DE 20 2004 010 916 U1 known.
  • WO 2005/011917 A1 a drill bit, referred to as a cutting tool, which is provided with cutting segments which are inserted into recesses provided on the end face of the carrier body.
  • the cutting segments are in this way additionally positively connected to the carrier body and can for this reason in the axial direction of the drill bit have a comparatively large amount, which allows a longer life.
  • the known drill bits are associated with the disadvantage that the cutting segments are fastened individually to the carrier body.
  • the cutting segments must be fixed in particular in the desired position on the front side of the carrier body and soldered individually.
  • the production of the drill bit is therefore associated with a high cost.
  • the EP 1 652 643 A1 a method for producing a drill bit, in which the cutting segments are attached to a band, the band is then deflected to the required length and joined together into a ring and finally the ring is fixed by soldering or welding to the front side of the carrier body.
  • the belt is provided with slots into which the cutting segments are inserted so as to be supported on three sides by the belt. Subsequently, the cutting segments are connected by soldering or welding to the belt.
  • the drill bit comprises one or more diamond segments, which are mounted on the end face of a connecting ring.
  • the connecting ring is welded to the end of a tubular carrier.
  • the diamond segments can be connected by laser welding, brazing, soldering or sintering with the end face of the connecting ring.
  • a method and an apparatus for producing saw blades is disclosed in US 5,448,866 US 6,562,288 B2 described.
  • the method provides first to mix metal powder with diamond particles and then introduce a master sheet into a device so that a sawtooth can be attached to the end face of the stem. Subsequently, the metal powder with the diamond particles is pressed into a sawtooth and sintered. At the same time the sawtooth is welded to the stem leaf.
  • the reveal JP 02274418 A and JP 02274416 A a method of making a band saw.
  • the method provides to insert rectangular cutting segments in U-shaped slots of a band-shaped saw blade and to connect them cohesively with the band saw blade.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a segment band and provided with such a segment band drill bit, which can be easily and inexpensively manufactured and allow a long service life.
  • the method according to the invention for producing a segment band for a drill bit is characterized in that a band consisting of metal is inserted into a sintering tool, then a green compact formed from a sinter powder is placed in the sintering tool on the top and bottom of the band and then the Green compacts are sintered to form a cutting segment.
  • the green compacts are joined together to form the cutting segment together.
  • the green compacts and the band are connected to each other, so that a firm bond of cutting segment and band results, which contributes to a long service life.
  • a plurality of green bodies are disposed on the top and bottom of the belt to form a plurality of spaced apart cutting segments in the sintering tool. Even if the segment band should have a large number of cutting segments, the method according to the invention ensures simple and cost-effective production. Because in contrast to the prior art according to the EP 1 652 643 A1 in that the cutting segments are individually connected to the belt after sintering, the attachment of the cutting segments to the belt takes place during sintering of the cutting segments, so that the effort required to secure the cutting segments to the belt is independent of the number of cutting segments ,
  • the band is provided with at least one opening.
  • the opening is advantageously made by punching or cutting.
  • the band is in one piece and consequently extends through the cutting segments.
  • the band may be multi-part and therefore composed of individual members.
  • the links are spaced apart in the sintering tool so that there is an opening between the links.
  • the green bodies are arranged so that the green bodies overlap the edge of the limbs a bit. In this way, during sintering, the green bodies are connected to one another and to the other the green bodies are connected to the limbs.
  • the sintering powder is preferably a metal powder mixed with diamond particles in order to ensure a high hardness of the cutting segments.
  • the segment band according to the invention has a plurality of cutting segments and a band connecting the cutting segments to each other.
  • the cutting segments are spaced apart in the direction of the length of the strip. Conveniently, the cutting segments are arranged equidistantly.
  • the cutting segments and the band are connected to one another by sintering, so that the segment band benefits from the method according to the invention.
  • the band is provided with a plurality of openings.
  • the openings are advantageously arranged between the cutting segments and preferably have a closed, in particular circular or oval, shape.
  • the openings on the one hand contribute to a high flexibility of the band, which makes it possible to adapt the segment tape to the carrier body of a drill bit.
  • the openings on the other hand, ensure that the cutting segments are flushed during drilling with a lubricant or coolant, such as water.
  • a lubricant or coolant such as water.
  • the closed shape of the openings is usually destroyed by the abrasive erosion occurring during drilling. Until then, however, the closed shape of the apertures ensures that the cutting segments are interconnected by the tape.
  • the openings may be arranged in the region of the cutting segments in order to ensure a connection of the green bodies with one another during sintering.
  • the openings have in this case expediently an open, in particular substantially semicircular, shape, which ensures an unhindered distribution of the sintering powder.
  • the cutting segments are arranged such that the height of the cutting segments extends in the direction of the width of the band.
  • the segment band is in this case the in the WO 2005/011917 A1 described advantage of a long service life.
  • the height of the cutting segments is greater than the width of the belt so that a portion of the cutting segments projects beyond the belt.
  • This projection can engage in the attachment of the segment band to a drill bit in recesses of the carrier body of the drill bit to achieve an additional positive connection between the segment band and the carrier body.
  • the height of the cutting segments is smaller than the width of the band.
  • the band forms in this way a contact surface, which contributes to a simple attachment of the segment band to the support body of a drill bit.
  • the thickness of the cutting segments is greater than the thickness of the band.
  • the band may have a thickness of about 0.3 mm to 0.6 mm, whereas the thickness of the cutting segments may be greater by a factor of 10, for example between about 3.0 mm and 6.0 mm.
  • the band advantageously extends approximately centrically with respect to the thickness of the cutting segments. Depending on the application, however, it may be expedient that the band extends eccentrically with respect to the thickness of the cutting segments. The eccentricity is suitably between about 20% and 30% of the thickness of the cutting segment.
  • the drill bit according to the invention has a tubular carrier body and the segment band according to the invention.
  • the segment band is attached in the region of the end face of the carrier body at this.
  • the segment band is expediently connected to the carrier body by soldering or welding.
  • the drill bit of the carrier body is provided in the region of the end face with a plurality of recesses.
  • the cutting segments of the segment band are used, so that there is a positive connection between the carrier body and the segment band.
  • the recesses advantageously have a depth extending in the axial direction of the carrier body, which is less than half, preferably less than one third, of the height of the cutting segments.
  • the carrier body in the region of the end face has a wall thickness which is smaller than the thickness of the cutting segments. In this way, the cutting segments protrude in the radial direction, depending on the application, inwardly and / or outwardly from the carrier body and thus allow a high propulsion speed.
