Description

The invention relates to an instrument panel with a glove box lid and a switch for actuating a locking mechanism for locking and unlocking the glove box lid.

Known in practice are mechanical actuation and locking mechanisms in which a mechanical lock is usually arranged centrally on the glove box lid. By pulling on a handle, the glove box can be unlocked and opened.

A disadvantage of known glove box actuating devices has been found that the mechanical parts especially against incorrect operation are sensitive and easily damaged by force. In addition, such a mechanical lock on the glove box itself must be arranged and depending on the position of the glove box, it is cumbersome for the driver to approach the operation zoom.

DE 199 06 049 A1 shows a closure device of a glove box lid with a push button. Such push-button switches have the disadvantage that they include sensitive movable mechanical parts and can not be optimally fit into the design of a vehicle.

DE 199 22 657 discloses a device for putting an opening aid for closable parts on vehicles, such as flaps, doors or the like with a manual actuator, which acts in the actuation case on the contactor of a microswitch. The actuated microswitch sets a drive to open a shutter of the flap or the door effectively. The actuator consists of an elastically yielding body of rigidly designed body of the vehicle and the contactor of the microswitch is arranged in the yielding path of this body shop.

DE 100 15 887 describes an access system for a vehicle having at least one door, in which an identification system arranged in the vehicle responds to an access authorization available outside the vehicle.

DE 34 40 442 discloses a built-in push button with a housing adapted to the door leaf thickness. The object of the invention described therein is to provide a combined for indoor and outdoor push button with a single contact. This is with the in DE 34 40 442 described invention solved in that in a direction perpendicular to the door plane cylindrical recess two cup-like sensing elements are used with intermediate compression spring that remains between the sensing elements an annular gap and that projects into the gap an actuator for a microswitch. The built-in push button protrudes inside and outside only a few millimeters beyond the door leaf level. The protruding of the built-in pushbutton is disadvantageous on the one hand because of Pushbutton can be damaged more easily than a pushbutton, which is integrated into the door leaf level and on the other hand, because the push button by the protruding the door deteriorates in their visual appearance.

US 2002/101738 A1 discloses an instrument panel having a surface skin and an underlying foam layer. The foam layer has a first recess, wherein a switch for actuating a controller in the first recess of the foam layer is disposed below the surface skin. The instrument panel has a carrier layer and the foam layer is located between the surface skin and the carrier layer. It is intended to arrange the switch on the driver's side of the vehicle. As a result, the driver no longer has to stretch if he wants to open the glove box.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the first recess is in the foam layer of the glove box lid. The switch can also be integrated into the foam layer of the glove box lid. Preferably, such a switch is used only for unlocking the glove box lid, since it is difficult to reach when the glove box lid is open for the vehicle occupant. However, the integration of the switch in the glove box lid has the advantage that when the switch is defective only the glove box lid must be changed, while in an integration of the switch in the instrument panel with a defective switch under certain circumstances, the entire instrument panel would have to be changed.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the surface skins of the instrument panel and the Haridschuhkastendeckels are flexible. The switch is located in the recess directly below the surface skin, so that it is actuated due to the flexibility of the surface skin.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the switch is fixed to an edge region of the carrier layer, wherein the edge region surrounds the second recess. The carrier layer is usually made of a dimensionally stable plastic such as ABS. Therefore, the edge region of the carrier layer provides the optimum area for fixing the switch to the instrument panel.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the instrument panel comprises cables, wherein the cables are used for signal transmission between the switch and the locking mechanism and wherein the cables are led away from the switch through the second recess.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the switch is deactivated.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the switch or the locking mechanism via the central locking of the vehicle is deactivated.

This is possible in particular when the vehicle is stationary. Thus, when the vehicle is parked, the glove box is secured against unauthorized opening. It is envisaged the glove box operation with the locking device of the Couple vehicle. It is also conceivable to couple the locking mechanism to other components of the vehicle. For example, it is provided to release the unlocking of the glove box only when occupied passenger seat on the seat occupancy sensor in the passenger seat, which is usually present anyway in modern vehicles, from a certain speed. This prevents the driver from being distracted at high speeds by opening the glove box lid.

The glove box lid can be opened and closed automatically via the switch. For example, the glove compartment can be opened and closed via an electric motor, which further improves the comfort of the vehicle.

FIG. 1 1 shows a schematic view of an instrument panel 2 according to the invention. The instrument panel 2 has a surface skin 3, a foam layer 4 and a carrier layer 5. The foam layer 4 lies between the surface skin and the carrier layer 5. The foam layer 4 is interrupted by a first recess 19. Furthermore, the carrier layer 5 is interrupted by a second recess 20. The instrument panel 2 also has a switch 1. The switch 1 is mounted below the surface skin 3 in the first recess 19. He reaches into the second recess 20 into it. The second recess 20 is bounded by an edge region of the carrier layer 5. The switch 1 has barbs 6, which are clipped into the relatively hard carrier layer, which may be made of plastic, for example. The switch further comprises cable 7, which is used for signal transmission to a in the FIG. 1 Not shown locking mechanism can be used. In the FIG. 1 It can clearly be seen that the switch 1 is arranged directly below the surface skin 3. The surface skin 3 is designed to be flexible so that the switch 1 can be actuated by pressing in the surface skin 3. The switch 1 is thus from the outside, that is from the vehicle interior, not visible. On the outside of the surface skin 3, however, a mark may be applied, which indicates the presence of the switch under the surface skin. By integrating the switch under the surface skin a particularly pleasing appearance of the instrument panel can be achieved.

Der Schalter 1 weist ferner die Kabel 7 auf, die durch eine zweite Aussparung 20 in der Trägerschicht 5 vom Schalter weg in Richtung desAt the in FIG. 2 shown example is not an embodiment of the invention but an example that facilitates the understanding of the invention. FIG. 2 shows an alternative example instrument panel 2, which is to be seen in sections. The instrument panel 2 has a surface skin 3, a carrier layer 5 and an intermediate foam layer 4. The foam layer 4 is of a recess 19th interrupted, in which a switch 1 is embedded. The switch 1 further comprises the cables 7, which by a second recess 20 in the carrier layer 5 away from the switch in the direction of

Locking mechanism are performed. For complete filling of the first recess 19 with foam, the recess 19, after the switch is installed, are still foamed with foam. The foaming of the switch into the first recess 19 has the advantage that the switch 1 is fixed essentially by the foam and by the surface skin 3 or by the carrier layer 5. There are no barbs needed to fix the foam beater on the carrier layer.

FIG. 3 shows schematic detail views of various not belonging to the invention pressure sensors 1a, 1b, 1c. The pressure sensors 1a, 1b, 1c comprise differently configured sensor plates 10, which are manufactured using thin-film technology. Via conductor tracks 8, the sensor plates 10 are connected to cables 7, via which the switches 1a, 1b, 1c can be connected. Both sensor plates 10 and printed conductors 8 are printed or deposited on a substrate 9. The switch 1c has, in contrast to switch 1a, a larger round sensor plate and can therefore be operated in a larger area. The switch 1b has a square-shaped sensor plate 10.

FIG. 4 schematically shows a not belonging to the invention example of a film switch 11. The film switch 11 comprises a cover film 12, a lower film 13 and an intermediate film arranged therebetween 14. The intermediate film 14, which is shown below again in detail, has a recess 17. cover film 12th and lower film 13 are each provided with a contact 18 - shown for the intermediate film 12 in detail. If one exerts a pressure on the film switch 11, the contacts of cover film 12 and bottom film 13 establish a connection. The films are in this embodiment of polyester, on which the contacts are printed.

FIG. 5 schematically shows an instrument panel 2 with a glove box lid 15, a locking mechanism 16 for locking and unlocking the glove box lid 16 and a switch 1 for actuating the locking mechanism 16. The locking mechanism 16 may, for example, a piezo drive, with a bolt of a Locking is pulled into an unlocked position. This then drops the glove box lid 15 driven by gravity down, causing the glove compartment opens. When the piezo drive is switched off, the bolt can then move back into the locking position, for example due to a pulling force of a spring. The switch 1 is used to actuate the piezo mechanism and thus to unlock the glove box lid. The switch 1 is located under the surface skin in the form of a trim strip and is not visible from the front. By using a membrane switch, which is mounted under the surface skin, a particularly simple and cost-effective switch can be realized. Thus, according to the invention an instrument panel is provided with a switch for actuating the locking mechanism, which is on the one hand very cheap to produce and can be adapted to the other due to the mounting under the surface very well in the design of the vehicle interior.
