Claims (18)

  1. Connector for producing a butt joint between a mullion and transom, wherein in use the connector can be situated in a recess provided in the transom or in the mullion and comprises two connector parts (1, 2),
    each connector part (1, 2) has a plate-like basic body which can be mounted either on the outer side of the mullion (1) or on the front end of the transom (20),
    the two connector parts (1, 2) each have, in the region of their opposite contact surfaces, protruding projections (3, 4) and recesses (5, 6) such that the projection, e.g. (3), of the one connector part, e.g. (1), engages in the recess, e.g. (6), of the other connector part, e.g. (2), the two projections (3, 4) form, in the joined-together state of the connector (10), at least one channel (7), in particular screw channel, and
    at least one pin (8) which engages in the channel (7) and braces the two connector parts (1, 2) against one another is provided as connection means,
    characterized in that
    in the installed state the plate-like basic body extends upwardly and downwardly from the respective projection (3, 4), wherein the projection is situated approximately in the centre of the front side of the connector part (1, 2), and
    the respective projection (3, 4) projects beyond the plate-like basic body with respect to the longitudinal axis of the transom in such a way that, in the mounted state of mullion and transom, the connector part (2) situated on the transom can be hooked via its projection (4) on the projection (3) of the connector part (1) of the mullion (1) in the longitudinal direction of the transom (2).
  2. Connector according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that
    when a torque is applied from mullion to transom, the load is supported via the common supporting surfaces (9) on the respective connector parts (1, 2).
  3. Connector according to Claim 2,
    characterized in that
    the supporting surfaces (9) - as regarded in the transverse direction with respect to the longitudinal axis of the connector (10) - are situated in the region of the respective edge region.
  4. Connector according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the end of the respective connector part (1, 2) that faces away from the direction of the protruding directions (3, 4) tapers.
  5. Connector according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the end of the respective connector part (1, 2) that faces in the direction of the protruding projections (3, 4) is bevelled or rounded off.
  6. Connector according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the respective projection (3, 4) engages in a form-fitting manner in the respective recess (5, 6).
  7. Connector according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the two connector parts (1, 2) can be pivoted with respect to one another in the joined-together state.
  8. Connector according to Claim 7,
    characterized in that
    the protruding projections (3, 4) and the recesses (5, 6) are of circular segment-shaped design.
  9. Connector according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the outer side of the respective projection (3, 4) extends parallel to the rear wall (25) of the connector part (1, 2).
  10. Connector according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the respective connector part (1, 2) has an elevation (11) in the inner region of the respective protruding projection (3, 4).
  11. Connector according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the respective connector part (1, 2) has at least one, preferably at least two, retaining projections (12) in the region of the rear side.
  12. Connector according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the connector parts (1, 2) are designed as an extruded profile, in particular a metal extruded profile, preferably an aluminium extruded profile or a plastic extruded profile.
  13. Connector according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the connector parts (1, 2) have an identical cross-sectional shape.
  14. Connector according to Claims 1 - 12,
    characterized in that
    edge webs (13) are provided on the rear side of a connector part (e.g. 2).
  15. Connector according to Claim 14,
    characterized in that
    at least one screw channel (14) is provided in the region of the respective edge web (13).
  16. Connector according to Claims 1 - 12,
    characterized in that
    at least one web (19) is provided in the inner region of the rear wall on the rear side of a connector part (e.g. 2).
  17. Connector according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    holes (18), in particular countersunk holes, are provided along the protruding projection (3, 4).
  18. Connector according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the holes (18) are positioned offset with respect to one another.
