Definitions
- the invention relates to a joint, in particular a movement joint, in the preamble of claim 1 explained type.
- Such a joint is known from US 5,187,910.
- the known joint is designed as a movement joint and contains a sealing device with cover plates, which are fastened to the components and span the joint, and a web or mat-shaped fire protection material.
- the fire protection material is arranged diagonally in the joint, has a certain thickness with free, opposite end surfaces, wherein one of the end faces abuts against the cover plate on one side of the joint and the other end face against the cover plate of the other side of the joint.
- an air gap is formed in each case, which strongly heats up in the event of fire. This heating can not be prevented by the fire protection material, since the fire protection material consists of a mat of ceramic fibers, which retains its dimension in case of fire.
- a joint with a sealing device which contains a U-shaped bent spring element made of steel, which jams in the interior of the joint, as well as a plurality of plugs of asbestos or another fire protection material.
- a seal against water and gas is also provided.
- the gap is bridged with a cover plate with movement reserve, which closes an opening of the joint.
- the seal against water and gas is located on the side of the spring element, which faces the cover plate, while the spring element is located on the side of the sealing device farthest from the cover plate.
- the spring element is coated on its side facing the fire (and the cover plate facing away) with fire protection material in the form of an asbestos coating or asbestos plaster.
- the seal is made against water and gas from a membrane with which the cover plate is deposited.
- the membrane is made of an elastomeric material.
- the sealing device of the known joint contains mat-shaped, inflatable fire protection material of the known type, which is inserted in one or more layers in the joint and glued to the opposite boundary surfaces of the components.
- the fire protection material covers the joint on both sides and forms the outer surface of the joint.
- the fire protection material is laid so that it sags with its own weight, so that a certain reserve of movement for a movement of the components is created.
- the fire protection material may be laminated with a heat-resistant material such as a metal foil.
- the metal foil is naturally at the bonded side, i. on at least one outwardly facing side of the joint. However, metal is heat-conducting.
- the heat is thus conducted directly to the adhesive bond.
- the heat generated during the fire is even conducted to the back of the components when the metal foil-laminated fire protection material fills the entire joint in a more or less closed circle.
- the film is provided on one side with a slot which is to interrupt the heat conduction. However, this slot also provides direct access to the interior of the joint.
- the known sealing device is designed so that it has to fill the entire joint. This is particularly disadvantageous where existing joints must be retrofitted for fire protection.
- the known sealing devices require that for this purpose the entire original joint filling is scraped out and refilled by the known sealing device. This is extremely expensive.
- Another joint with a sealing device made of fire protection material is known from EP 730 695 B1.
- the sealing means of this joint consists of a readily compressible tube made of a composition consisting mainly of a mixture of an elastomeric material and a bulking material. Again, it is necessary that the entire gap must be cleared empty, if the joint must be retrofitted for fire protection.
- the invention has for its object to provide a joint and a sealing device for this, the fire protection technology is extremely effective and easy to install.
- the sealing device may be formed relatively thin-walled, so that it has only a small footprint in a joint, and further provides through the cover plate a massive protection against damage in normal use, i. not in case of fire, without this massive protection in case of fire could lead to destruction or damage to the sealing device, since the cover plate has a movement reserve
- As fire protection material one of the commercially available webs or mats is used, which are coated with expandable material.
- fire protection material for example, the material described in DE 197 18 876 A1 can be used, which consists of webs or mats of cellulosic fibers that have been made flame resistant, and then coated with expandable compositions, wherein the expandable compositions preferably contain expandable graphite.
- fire protection material but also a material can be used, as it was used for example in DE 201 06 009 U as fire safety for pipelines.
- the cover plate can extend beyond the gap without affecting the function and be fastened to the components outside the joint. In this way, the space required inside the joint is further reduced.
- cover plate is also deposited outside the joint with fire protection material, as this extends the fire protection beyond the joint, and improves the sealing effect.
- the installation of the sealing device according to the invention is further facilitated.
- the fire protection material may have a greater thickness inside the joint than outside the joint.
- the fire protection material can, where necessary or desired, be used in multiple layers, which may be necessary in particular in the interior of the joint.
- the fire protection material can also be designed as a sheath for a further sealing material, with which the joint can be filled. Since the above-described intumescent material is used as the fire protection material, the other sealing material is not necessarily fire-proof, but may even be combustible. Nevertheless, the joint meets the requirements for fire protection.
- the cover plate can preferably be attached to the components with mechanical fastening means, such as screws, rivets, anchors or dowels, which further facilitates the assembly.
- the movement reserve of the cover plate can be realized by a variety of measures, individually or in combination.
- the cover plate consists of at least two parts, which are connected to each other via a movement connection.
- the movement connection can be additionally sealed by inserted fire protection material.
- the movement reserve can also be achieved in the region of the fastening means of the cover plate, for example by making holes for mechanical fastening means such as screws or bolts or rivets larger than would correspond to the diameter of the fastening means.
- the movement reserve of the cover plate can also be realized by a stretchable design of the cover plate, which is preferably done by molded into the cover plate grooves or waves that straighten out under the action of tensile forces.
- the production of the cover plate from a low tensile elastic or plastically deformable material is also conceivable.
- the sealing device according to the invention can be easily prefabricated and delivered to the site in prefabricated state, so that thereby the installation is further facilitated.
- the joint 1 shows a first embodiment of a joint 1 according to the invention, which is provided with a sealing device 2.
- the joint 1 is formed as a gap 3 with the width b between facing boundary surfaces 4a and 5a of two components 4 and 5 respectively.
- the components 4, 5 may consist of foam concrete, concrete, masonry or the like.
- the joint is designed as a movement joint, i. It is to be expected that the distance between the two boundary surfaces 4a, 5a changes, the sealing device 2 must undergo these changes without loss of function. The possibility of movement of the joint is given by design.
- the sealing device 2 includes a cover plate 6, which consists of a non-combustible material, such as metal, and may be, for example, a galvanized sheet or a stainless steel sheet.
- the cover plate is wider than the distance b between the boundary surfaces 4a, 5a and extends beyond the transverse to the boundary surfaces 4a and 5a extending surfaces of the components 4, 5.
- the fastening means 7 can be arbitrarily selected and can be, for example, screws, dowels, anchors, rivets or the like.
- the cover plate 6 includes two parts 6a and 6b, which are connected to each other via a movement connection 8.
- the movement connection 8 is designed to cause a relative movement of the two parts 6a, 6b of the cover plate 6 along the arrow D, i. allowed in the direction in which an expansion movement of the joint 1 is to be expected.
- This movement is possible by a movement reserve R, which is present in the movement connection 8.
- the movement connection 8 is formed in the illustrated embodiment by two U-shaped bent and with play in the direction D interlocking edge regions 9, 10 of the parts 6a, 6b of the cover plate 6. In the illustrated embodiment, the movement connection 8 is in the middle of the distance b, but it can be provided at any point within the joint 1.
- the movement reserve R is dimensioned so that it allows the design-side specified movements of the joint.
- the sealing device 2 also contains fire protection material.
- the fire protection material used is an expandable material which has been applied to a suitable support.
- the fire protection material is present as a mat or bandage or as a sheet-like material and preferably contains a carrier made of non-combustible fibers, for example a glass fiber fabric, a glass fiber fleece or the like, on the one or both sides an intumescent, preferably a commercial paint based on expanded graphite , is applied.
- the intumescent agent should be chosen so that it foams at about 200 ° C and has a foaming or expanding factor between about 200 to about 250, ie its layer thickness increased by 200 to 250 times.
- the application thickness of the intumescent agent on the support should be about 1500 g / m 2 (wet application) of the support surface.
- the amount applied depends on the thickness to be achieved after foaming, which in turn depends on the fire protection specifications and the materials used.
- a foaming thickness of about 10 cm is desirable.
- other materials can be used, for example, the textile fire protection material described in DE 197 18 876 A1 or, for low requirements of fire protection, less effective materials such as the so-called cable bandage (DE 197 21 533 A1).
- the sealing device 2 includes a first layer 11 of one of these fire protection materials, which is attached in the form of a mat on the joint cavity 3 side facing the cover plate 6 and extends over the entire width of the cover plate 6 with the movement connection 8.
- the attachment of the fire protection material layer 11 is preferably carried out by sticking to the cover plate 6 outside the movement connection 8.
- the layer 11 depends, as drawn at 11 a, so that there is also a reserve of movement and the situation 11th the movement of the cover plate 6 or the enlargement and reduction of the cavity 3 can join, ie the movement reserve 11a of the layer 11 is equal to or greater than the movement reserve R.
- the layer 11 of fire protection material is slightly larger than the cover plate 6, so that it protrudes with a supernatant u from one to several millimeters below the cover plate 6.
- unimpeded foaming of the fire protection material is allowed at the edge of the cover plate in case of fire, whereby the gap between the cover plate 6 and the component 4, 5 is better sealed against the entry or Ausdringen of smoke.
- the layer 11 of the fire protection material can also be connected to the cover plate 6 with the aid of the fastening means 7.
- the layers 12 and 13 are narrower than the layer 11, but slightly more ready than the distance b between the boundary surfaces 4a, 5a, so that the layers 12, 13 abut well on both sides of the boundary surfaces 4a, 5a and in the region of the movement connection 8 analogous to Sag 11.
- the layers 12, 13 are on both sides of the movement connection 8 via connection points 14 shown only in dotted lines with the first layer 11 and the cover plate 6 connected so that the edges of the layers 12, 13 against the boundary surfaces 4a, 5a are pressed and a sufficient reserve of movement in the region of the movement connection 8 is achieved.
- the joints 14 may be glued or wire connectors or the like.
- FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the joint 1 according to FIG. 1 with modifications described below.
- the reserve of movement R of the cover plate 6 can be realized not only in the region of the movement connection 8, but also in the region of the connections 7 between the cover plate 6 and the respective adjacent component 4, 5; by appropriately shaped receiving holes 15 for mechanical fasteners, such as screws, rivets, anchors or dowels or the like.
- Fig. 2 shows, for example, a first receiving opening 15a in the form of a slot which extends in the direction D.
- the movement reserve R is therefore determined by the length of the slot 15a minus the diameter of the corresponding fastening means 7.
- a receiving opening 15b in the form of a slot transverse to the direction of movement D can accommodate movements in this direction.
- a receiving opening 15c in the form of a circular opening with a substantially larger diameter than the fastening elements 7 provides a reserve of movement R in all conceivable directions.
- receiving openings 15 d can be provided with a diameter which corresponds approximately to the diameter of the fastening means 7, but may be surrounded by waves or corrugations 16 which smooth under tensile stress and thus form the movement reserves R.
- receiving openings 15e may be provided which correspond in diameter to the fastening means 7 and are surrounded by an easily deformable region 17 of the cover plate 6, for example of reduced thickness, so that the reserve of movement R is provided by the deformation of the material of the cover plate 6 itself ,
- Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment of a joint 20 according to the invention, which corresponds to the details described below of the joint 1 of Fig. 1, wherein the same or comparable features are denoted by the same reference numerals and are not explained again.
- the joint 20 with its sealing device 2 is formed in principle like the joint 1, but additionally contains a further sealing material 21, which may be a conventional sealing material, which fills the cavity 3 completely or partially.
- the sealing material 21 may, for example, also be a combustible material or a material that adversely changes at higher temperatures, such as Styrofoam.
- the additional sealing material 21 can be arranged at a distance a below the sealing device 2, wherein the distance a is dimensioned such that it allows the calculated and desired foaming height of the layers 12, 13 and 11.
- the sealing device 2 of the invention is also particularly suitable for retrofitting existing joints, the cavity 3 only has to be scratched superficially, if the sealing material 21 is not compressible even at temperatures above 200 °. It would then be advantageous to reduce the number of layers 12 and 13.
- FIG. 4 shows a further exemplary embodiment of a joint 30 according to the invention, which, except for the details described below, corresponds to the joint 1 of FIG. 1, so that identical or comparable components are identified by the same reference symbols and are not explained again.
- the cavity 3 is shut off below the sealing device by a grid 31, the grid openings should be so large that the foam can pass during foaming of the fire protection material.
- Wire mesh as he used as a rabbit wire in Trade is well suited for the present purpose.
- the installation of this grid 31 could possibly eliminate the fastenings 14 of the layers 12 and 13 of the fire protection material, so that the fire protection material must be placed in layers only in the cavity 3 between the grid 31 and the cover plate 6.
- Fig. 5 shows a further embodiment of a joint 40 according to the invention, which corresponds to the details described below of the joint 1 according to FIG. 1, wherein the same or comparable features are denoted by the same reference numerals and are not explained again.

Description
