Definitions
- the invention relates to a shaving head for a hair clipper, with at least one upper knife and at least one associated lower knife having cutting edges, which can be moved relative to one another by a drive, the upper knife having a contact surface made of webs and slots and the slots at least to one of two lateral boundary lines of the contact surface defining the width of the contact surface are open.
- Such a shaving head is known from DE 43 12 060 C1 and is used, for example, as a long-hair cutter in combination with a short-hair cutting system of an electric dry shaving apparatus.
- a preferred use is integrated between two shaving foils as a center cutter.
- the known shaving head has a lower knife, which consists of a multi-slit, U-shaped blade which is driven to oscillate in the longitudinal direction. This blade is pressed against an upper knife, whose contact surface for the skin is formed on the side of the upper knife opposite the lower knife.
- This contact surface consists of a central web, from which a plurality of comb-like tines extend on both sides in the transverse direction.
- the tines form cutting edges which, in conjunction with the lower knife, are able to cut hair that has penetrated into the corresponding slots.
- the comb-like tines delimit slots that run from the long side of the contact surface to the central web and end there.
- the longitudinal central web therefore serves as a trap for the hair that has entered, so that it is held in the shaving head until a cutting event occurs.
- the length of the cutting edges of the upper knife in the known shaving head is slightly less than half the width of the upper knife.
- the known shaving head has proven itself in practice, but it can occur in particular at a higher feed rate of the hair clipper that a hair initially caught between the prongs is only caught on the central web, but is then pulled over it so that it is outside of the area of the cut edges before a cutting event has occurred.
- the cutting edges ie the length of the tines or the slots, would have to be lengthened noticeably, which would lead to a significant increase in the dimensions of the shaving head.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of creating a generic shaving head which is distinguished by a particularly high effectiveness even at higher feed speeds of the hair clipper and yet has very compact dimensions.
- the webs are designed in the form of meanders, sine curves or serpentines that run back and forth between the two opposite lateral boundary lines of the stop surface.
- cutting edges can be realized, the length of which is approximately the measure of the width of the contact surface, that is the width of the shaving head.
- the support of the upper knife on the lower knife is realized almost exclusively by the central web, it is quasi single-track.
- this guidance takes place in the area of the reversal points of the meanders.
- the guide therefore consists of interrupted sections, which are alternately in the area of one or the other lateral boundary line.
- the lower knife is guided on two rails on the outside. This represents an optimal guidance of the two cutting elements.
- the shaving head geometries that is to say the contact surfaces of the total shearing surfaces themselves, can be designed very differently, so one embodiment of the invention provides that the two lateral boundary lines are designed as parallels and form the long sides of the contact surface.
- a further embodiment of the invention provides that the two lateral boundary lines are formed as nested, in particular concentric circles and form the outer or inner circumference of the contact surface. In this way e.g. rectangular or annular shear surfaces are formed.
- the first and / or second lateral boundary line protrude beyond the corresponding lateral boundaries of the associated lower knife, so that individual or a plurality of reversal regions of the webs oppose one another. protrude like a comb above the bedknife. This results in a particularly good threading and straightening effect. This effect is further increased by the fact that the width of the slots widens in a funnel shape in the opening direction.
- the length of the slots is advantageously dimensioned such that the end of the slots opposite the opening lies within the area over which the cutting edges of the lower knife pass. This leads to a particularly stable mounting of the cutting elements moved relative to one another and counteracts the respective cutting edges from getting caught.
- a design is also used to prevent snagging, in which the slots or webs of the upper knife have a division that deviates from the division of the cutting edges of the lower knife.
- the shaving head according to the invention can be used both with linearly oscillating and with rotatingly driven systems.
- Fig. 1 is an exploded view
- Fig. 2 is a plan view of the shaving head according to the invention.
- the shaving head shown in Fig. 1 has a lower knife 1 with a coupling element 2 for coupling to an electric drive, not shown, of the hair clipper, for example a driven eccentric shaft or swing bridge.
- the lower knife 1 can be driven to oscillate in the longitudinal direction by the drive.
- a pressure spring 3 is also attached to the lower knife 1, which is designed as a curved leaf spring and is supported with its end regions 4 on a carrier 5 in each case.
- the carriers 5 each have locking lugs 6 with which they can be locked in a housing (not shown in the drawing) or in a component connected to the housing, in particular in the removable frame of a shaving system, of a hair clipper.
- the carriers 5 are each on both sides with ßeren and inner weld points 7 and 8 provided, by means of which they can be welded to corresponding counter surfaces 7a and 8a, which are arranged on the upper knife 9.
- the lower knife 1 is prestressed by the pressure spring 3 relative to the upper knife 9 and is always pressed against it.
- the lower knife is designed as a U-shaped profile, the two legs of which are directed downward and on the upper side of which a plurality of transverse parallel notches 10 are provided, between which webs 11 remain, which form the cutting edges of the blade.
- the upper knife 9 consists of two parallel side walls 12, each having the counter surfaces 7a and 8a, and a further strip-shaped wall element 13 connecting the two side walls 12.
- the outer surface of this wall element 13 forms the contact surface 14 of the shaving head.
- the side walls 12 and the wall element 13 form the guide of the driven lower knife 1 and enclose it.
- the width of the contact surface 14 is defined by two lateral boundary lines 15 and 16 which have a flat contour in the region of their end sections lying opposite one another in the longitudinal direction.
- the actual cutting area is located between these end sections, in which the contact surface 14 of the upper knife 9 is formed by interconnected webs 17 which run in a meandering, sinusoidal or serpentine shape.
- the webs 17 have transverse sections which form the cutting edges 22, and also reversal points 18 which have larger radii 19 pointing outwards and small radii 20 on the inside.
- the large radii 19 form comb tips that are particularly skin-friendly due to their large radii.
- the small radii 20 connect the cutting edges 22 and are measured at least so large that they exceed the radius of a hair. In this way it is ensured that hair caught between the cutting edges 22 cannot be pinched and thus pulled.
- the outer radius of the transverse comb-like webs reaches a maximum of half the web width
- the maximum outer radius 19 in the shaving head according to the invention can be made as large as the entire web width plus half the slot width.
- the outer radius 19 changes abruptly into a right angle; at these points 23, the wall element 13 is welded to the integrally formed supports 24 of the side walls 12.
- the contact surface formed by the right angle at point 23 serves for adjustment and fixing in the welding apparatus.
- the invention can also be carried out without these corners at points 23, so that then all turning points have large radii 19 at the tip of the comb.
- the radii 19 also form funnel-shaped threading zones for the slots 21, which widen outwards.
- the meandering webs 17 with their arcuate deflection points 18, at which they are partially connected to the side walls 12 via the supports 24, represent a comparatively elastic contact surface 14 for the skin to be shaved.
- This can adapt at least to a small extent to skin contours and possibly avoid bumps more easily than previously known shaving heads. Nevertheless, even if the contact surface 14 is deformed in the region of the cutting zone, it is ensured that the webs 11 of the lower knife 1 cannot get caught. For this reason, not only the division of the webs 17 of the upper knife 9 is different than the division of the webs 11 of the lower knife 1, but the depth of the slots 21 is dimensioned such that they end in the assembled state of the shaving head within the range of the webs 11 of the lower knife 1 is covered.
- This swept area that is to say the contact surface between the upper knife 9 and the lower knife 1 is indicated in FIG. 2 by the markings 25 and 26. These markings 25, 26 indicate, so to speak, the two outer tracks, by means of which the lower knife 1 is supported by the pressure spring 13 on the upper knife 9.
- the above-described configuration of the shaving head makes it possible, on the one hand, to realize particularly deep slots 21 with correspondingly long cutting edges, the tips of which have particularly large outer radii 19. It can be used to build shaving heads that cut particularly effectively, but also ensure optimal skin protection.
