Definitions
- the invention relates to a drum washing machine with a laundry drum that can be loaded from the front, the jacket of which is perforated and which is surrounded by a container within which it is at least approximately horizontally suspended on its rear wall, and with a working section for spin-drying the laundry in the drum ,
- Such so-called front loading washing machines regularly have a rubber sleeve as a watertight connection between the tub, which is mounted in a swinging manner, and the fixed housing opening.
- a rubber sleeve is the one from DE 37 38 399 A1 which, in its deepest part, also has drainage holes to the tub, so that residual water does not remain in the folds of the sleeve.
- Such residual water is particularly troublesome when spinning, namely when the swing-mounted suds container unit makes strong oscillating movements and the cuff tends to flutter violently. Then residual water is thrown up out of the cuff and gets back on the laundry from which it was just spun off. This process worsens the spin result.
- the object of the invention is to take measures in a washing machine described at the outset which at least reduce, if not exclude, this rewetting effect and thereby also promise better reproducible residual moisture values for similar spin processes.
- this object is achieved in that precautions are taken to ensure that essentially no air can flow from the container through the interior of the drum and back to the container during dry spinning.
- This effect is also present in the lower area of the cuff without residual water, because the water wetting the laundry comes out of the tub and is carried away by the air flow.
- a flow resistance is arranged in the path of a potential air flow from the container through the interior of the drum back to the container. Such a flow resistance would prevent the formation of an air flow as described or would at least reduce it to such an extent that the residual flow no longer has sufficient energy for the entrainment of centrifuged water from the tub.
- a possible embodiment of such a flow resistance would be a barrier, which is arranged in the annular gap between the loading opening of the drum and the front opening of the container.
- a further advantageous development of the invention consists in the fact that the drum jacket on a ring section which adjoins the rear wall of the drum has an at least lower specific perforation area fraction than on the ring section arranged closer to the loading opening. It was observed that, at the start of the spin section, the laundry was deposited primarily on the drum jacket in the front area of the laundry drum and left free the ring section near the rear wall. However, if there are also flood holes in the rear section that are not covered by the laundry, then the air sucked in through the loading opening during high-speed spinning can be pressed through these free flood holes into the surrounding tub and the ring flow is already established. If, on the other hand, there are no or smaller or only a few flood holes in this ring section, the flow resistance is too great for this potential air flow, and an essential flow does not even occur.
- This embodiment of the invention is particularly advantageous because the laundry drum acquires greater mechanical rigidity as a result of the reduced perforated area in the rear region of the drum jacket. In addition, this measure naturally avoids additional means for increasing the flow resistance.
- Some laundry drums are also perforated on the back wall to ensure a more intensive exchange of the wash liquor with the laundry.
- the rear wall of the drum has an annular disk section which is adjacent to the drum jacket and has a lower specific perforation area fraction than the disk section arranged directly opposite the loading opening.
- the area of the pane section of the rear wall corresponds at least approximately to the area of the loading opening.
- This part of the perforated rear wall has the same pressure conditions as the coaxial loading opening.
- the reduction in the specific proportion of perforated area can be achieved by omitting every sixth hole (with a total of 30 holes per row) in the first row of holes arranged on a circumferential line outside the fully perforated part. In each row of holes further away there can then be another hole or alternating one or two holes or progressively one, two, three etc. holes of a basic amount of six, seven, eight, nine or ten holes per integer / all (depending on the divisibility of the Total number of solderers per row) can be omitted.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a laundry drum, the end of which has been removed for a better view of the interior,
- FIG. 3 shows an enlarged view of a triangular region of flood holes in the ring region of the drum casing according to FIG. 2,
- FIG. 4 shows a development according to FIG. 2 with a lower specific perforation area proportion than in FIG. 2,
- FIG. 5 shows an enlarged view of a triangular region of flood holes in the ring region of the drum casing according to FIG. 4
- FIG. 6 shows a development according to FIG. 2 with a lower specific one
- FIG. 7 is an enlarged view of a triangular area of flood holes in the ring area of the drum shell according to FIG. 6, 8 shows a development according to FIG. 2 with a lower specific perforation area proportion than in FIGS. 6 and
- FIG. 9 is an enlarged view of a triangular area of flood holes in the ring area of the drum casing according to FIG. 8, the laundry drum 1 in FIG. 1 is rotatably mounted about an axis 2 arranged horizontally here and consists of a drum casing 3, a rear wall 4 and one not shown Front floor, which was removed for a better view of the interior of the drum.
- the jacket 3 and the rear wall 4 are provided with flood holes 5 and 6 of any shape, which ensure the constant exchange of the wash liquor during the
- the dashed arc lines indicate that the perforated surfaces expand in the relevant direction.
- the rear wall 4 is provided in a known manner with a star-shaped embossing 7 for stabilization.
- FIG. 1 it can already be seen that on the ring section 10, which adjoins the rear wall 4 of the drum 1 and is indicated by the two boundary lines 8 and 9, the specific proportion of perforated surface is considerably reduced compared to the other perforated surface. Similarly, the specific proportion of perforated area in an annular disk section 11 of the drum rear wall 4, which adjoins the drum casing 3, is reduced compared to the remaining perforated area of the rear wall 4. Only the surface of a pane section of the rear wall 4, which corresponds approximately to the surface of the opposite loading opening, is perforated over the entire surface, apart from the stiffening embossing.
- FIG. 3 In the enlarged representation (FIG. 3) of a triangular area in accordance with the frame in FIG. 2, there are twenty hole locations, of which ten hole locations are occupied by flood holes 15 with a gray background. The unoccupied holes are marked with smaller white circles 16. Accordingly, there is a perforation area share of 50%.
- a perforated area fraction of less than 50% can be achieved if the ring section 10 is designed according to FIGS. 4 to 9.
- a continuous or discontinuous reduction of the specific perforated area fractions from front to rear would also be within the scope of the invention and will help the desired effect, the definition of the ring section only having to be defined unsharp.
- the ring section can even be completely without holes so that the flow resistance is against ° °.
- Adjust drum 1 if the rear wall is perforated at all.
